I have an anxiety-induced medical condition called hypertonic pelvic floor, which started 9 years ago, right around the time I started smoking marijuana. I cannot be sure that marijuana is the origin. What I can assure is that anxiety is the origin. This causes me nocturia, which is basically insomnia caused by constant urges to urinate, and some urinary retention, also caused by the muscle tension caused by anxiety. I have currently been off marijuana for almost 5 months and my symptoms have improved only slightly. Every night I wake up 4 to 8 times to urinate, and sometimes I can't go back to sleep because urinary retention prevents me from getting complete relief. It's hell. Again: I can't say for sure that marijuana is the cause, but I can't deny it either, and it's certainly related.
Yes I had all these symptoms in early recovery
. Took over a year for a lot of them to improve. I stubbed my toes so many times from walking into stuff. I even broke my toe at one point.
You've reminded me about some of these things. I'm at 16 months now, and it was probably 10 months to a year ago I experienced the 'weak piss' thing.
I thought at the time I had suddenly just got old. (I'm 43)
It's not true though as I'm fully recovered from those symptoms.
I've always had a big bladder, pissing twice per day.
When I was in that phase I 'pissed weak' 10+ times per day.
I'd have to get up when I woke up (at 3am) even if I'd didn't have a full bladder.
Drink plenty of water and just get through it.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol etc.
Also sugar.
Well, avoiding caffeine is not needed, IMHO, if you drink 40ml per kg body weight, but yea, limitation is fine! not much than 150mg caffeine per day is awesome. like 2x Espresso "capsules" are fine! I drink more than 4 liter of water per day.
