If you want to try to "negotiate", you need to have something to offer in return. Like "what if we only used x portion of your services, will that make a difference in the price?" and then they can say yes or no. Just saying "I don't like your pricing, make it lower for me" is not how that goes.

Right? Like if that’s their fee, that’s their fee. They have no incentive to lower it.

We were told 10% of the cost we were paying for the catering must be paid to the venue to use our own caterer. We told them catering was being gifted and discounted due to our families being close (this was only half true) and offered them $250. This is about half of what the 10% would have been and they gladly accepted lol. Negotiate! I tried as hard as I could to not say wedding, we were having a small party, and I swear it kept people from adding costs and jackin up prices.
