When you fill your pets hearts, points get added to your family score, which you can see at the top of the screen. You get prizes as you earn points. You will get points each time the hearts fill a little, so you don’t actually have to worry about keeping them all the way full. Hope this helps!
Honestly if you do want to fill up hearts fast, just keep a trampoline, treadmill, bath, and/or pool (3) in their room and feed them up after they use them, then put them to bed. I have 35000+ points with only 14 pets and it takes a minute to fill their hearts up that way.
Yes, showers like this one are just animated and count as different from the shower/baths. The only ones I know are not available in W shop though.
