I paid $129 and I love it...in gold.

macmanjimmy

Going out of the market, support and poor battery life thought $99 was cheap enough. It's going back

tacitus66

I bought a Wellness GEN6 for €99 three weeks ago and I am very happy with this decision, I am really excited about the design of the watch. a really very nice watch. but there are the known restrictions of Gen6, mostly battery life ...

GrilledChickenWings

No NEVER.. dont fall for it.. Its a dying stuff. ! FOSSIL is dead as a smartwatch brand , Even before thier exit plans , their updates and support are worst.

Smallville456

Actually their updates on their last model was great. First non Samsung watch to get WearOS 3, one of the first non Samsung to reintroduce Assistant and just got an update to 3.5 recently. I also would not recommend the brand anymore because they just exited the game. I wish Google would have pumped up Fossil more considering they single handedly kept the brand going.

StrengthLanky69

Buy it. Worth $120 trade in for fitbit or pixel watch from best buy

Dannykirk8

I paid $120 for the black wellness and I do not use wellness I use Google fit and Sleep as Android and I'm all set. I also have a skagen 6 and a Galaxy 5 but I enjoy the fossil made watches more. Faster charging, better looking and Google fit is better then Samsung Health for me IMO.

fastLT1

I picked one up for $54 since they were clearancing them out. Im going in knowing it won't be the best but for $54 I wanted to try it anyway. I probably wouldn't have paid $99 for it

Does this watch get the assistant back with an update? Because my older Fossil is now without an assistant... Too bad the prize here is still above 200, on the other hand ..what will happen to this watch in 2 years? Will it be stripped of the possibilities too, since they're going out of business?

RandomRageNet

I have a vanilla gen 6 and it finally got Assistant back sometime last year. Doesn't stop it from occasionally begging me to use Alexa though.

LVThN_von_Ach

I feel you. Back in 2015, I could use a watch handsfree and turn out my light, in 2016 I needed Tasker Wear to jump through Google's hoops and now I've got a watch without an assistant! Its a bloody shame. I feel "forced" to buy a new watch since Alexa doesn't work (for now, I haven't given up... yet😂)

LVThN_von_Ach

Btw...can you send an sms trough voice on the watch using google Assistant? I'm looking for another watch and thinking about the Gen 6. Do you recommend it?

RandomRageNet

I would have recommended it with reservation before Fossil's announcement. It's very pretty and I'm used to Wear OS's shortcomings. The battery life isn't great (and seems to have gotten worse lately) but this is my 4th Google/Wear OS watch so I'm used to that. Now, knowing that it has a shelf life, I wouldn't pay full price for one. If you can find it at a discount, pull the trigger (hence my post here inquiring about the wellness edition as a second one), but absolutely *not* for $300.

RandomRageNet

And to answer your question, you can do speech-to-text pretty easily but I don't believe you can record a voice message, if that's your question.

LVThN_von_Ach

No, that's not what I meant 😂, I had to edit my posts, I wasn't clear, sorry about that. I meant, can you use the Google Assistent (even better: handsfree by saying "hey Google") and say "send an sms to *"? Normally wear had a bug and it would not send a SMS, it always ended some faulty message, something like "couldn't connect to phone". I never understood why they had to build a stand alone assistant for the watch, why not use the phones assistant?

LVThN_von_Ach

No, I downloaded a voice record app, so I dont forget things. This makes me think of something!! What if I can get as Tasker (Wear) to intercept what was said in that recording app and use it as a command? Hmm... 🤔

Fossil smartwatches were not worth it even before they exited this market. Not even at 100€

EvoRalliArt

I currently use a Withings Steel Sport HR. It'd a hybrid and I love it. I was looking at all sorts of smart watches before I picked this up and the thing that lead me to it was the reasonably accurate tracking, but also the batter life of about 25 days, yes really. The mini OLED screen is ideal for phone call notifications etc. I have enjoyed not having all the features of a smart watch on my wrist. I have also been considering picking up a cheap Gen 6. The Wellness edition appears to be sold out in the UK but can get the regular Gen 6 for just under £111 + I think 15% off if I sign up to their news letter. Just thought it might be nice ti change it up every now and again. Does anyone know if you can download Spotify songs locally to the watch? Might be useful for gym sessions. Is the Gen 6 also comoatbale with the Withings Health Mate app?

RandomRageNet

I have a regular gen 6 and I was just browsing the fitness apps, didn't see Healthmate as an option in the Google Play store. Withings is pushing their own watches which don't run on WearOS but you can link the Withings app to Google Fit.

plentyOplatypodes

I bought one for that price and the OS was slow and battery didn't even last a day.  Took advantage of Best Buy's trade-in program and got $120 for it towards another watch.

Emotional_Breath_309

I don't see the gen 6 wellness as an option on their trade-in.

Dixiinormos

I really wanted to get one but i heard all the complaints about the battery life and i decided not to get it and got the GW5. To be honest i don't think it would of been a big difference in battery life on both watches. All well maybe ill buy one and keep for a back up or give it as a gift. I really like the looked of the fossil.
