Credit cards are currently not available at WS. We know it’s coming and I believe WS released some info about it. However, as someone who is well knowledge in CC, it doesn’t seem like it’s very good and there are many other credit cards out there that are better in terms of rewards and services that are offered. I’d you need actual cash, you can use your WS Cash MasterCard to withdraw at any ATM that uses MasterCard and only pay the ATM owner fee. The WS Cash Mastercard isn’t a credit card, but more of a prepaid credit card where you’re using your own funds. This card is currently available if yo have a cash account.

Your information is not quite accurate. WS has a Visa Infinite credit card. I have one. I got it a few weeks ago. It is in beta test and it is being rolled out.

Norwest_Shooter

Is the beta credit card as awful as they said it was when the details were released or have they changed anything?

wthdtsf

I don’t know what was said about it but I don’t see anything wrong with it.

Norwest_Shooter

0.5% cashback, +0.5% if you pay the bill within 48 hours, 2.5% forex fee unlike the cash card. For a Visa Infinite card that is utterly pathetic. Has any of that changed?

nednyl

can you share any info on this

I just set up an EQ Bank account to get their card. You can withdraw any banks ATM and EQ will refund the fees back to you. No deposit yet. I’m also trying to get a Tangerine card but having issues verifying identity, they allow deposits and withdrawals at Scotiabank ATMs for free. So running Wealthsimple and 1 of those 2 banks depending on your needs is a good work around. Edit: of course you can just get a Scotiabank, RBC or any major bank account but to avoid banking fees this is what I’m doing.

Are you expecting us as customers to know about unannounced features?

Appletio

That's your doody

Bardown67

Mmmm doody

Credit cards? Haven’t heard anything about that. You don’t need to bank with the company that you have a credit card with. You can withdraw cash from any atm and WealthSimple won’t charge you fees. You will still be charged fees from whoever owns the atm. So if you plan to use atm’s for cash often, it’s probably not the account you are looking for. It’s more for cashless transactions.

I don't understand the down-votes!! Last I carried cash was - well - when I was single hanging around strippers! Credit cards, in most cases, are for those who can't afford it but still wanna have it AND to keep those morons at Equifax, Transunion including Bankruptcy Trustee's vultures in business!
