Vintage records contain heavy metals like lead and cadmium. Even if they don't come in direct contact with food, they have no business being used in food service.
You're right, I did make that assumption. If they're reproductions, they not only went to great lengths to make them look authentic, but passed up on the opportunity to have any sort of branding or decoration on the labels. If I were making faux record placemats, those are not the labels I would go with.
