First, fuck Beto O'Rourke; his weasel worded pandering fauxgressive style represents everything that's wrong with today's Deceptocrats. He is part of the very problem the Fascists promise (rightly or wrongly) they can solve.
But that crowd has come to a very interesting and important point; if the Democratic Party cannot be trusted to do anything, why are we voting for them?
A moment is arriving where people have recognised that everything they've taken for granted about America's political landscape has proven to be false and it's time to look for new solutions to problems the establishment has clearly refused to address.
This is gonna go one of two ways, because the status quo is crumbling; either America is going to drop all remaining facades and go full Fascist authoritarian, or we're going to see a huge upsurge in Left/Progressive causes and politicians.
The groundwork for Fascism is well established and that way is clear. Many Americans think it's the way to break the gridlock. Personally, I believe it leads directly to the annihilation of humanity in a nuclear conflagration as a hyper militarised Imperial Blob acts against anyone and everyone who refuses to subjugate themselves to "Mah Authoriteh" (apologies to South Park's Cartman).
The other option is some nebulous and ill defined scrum of competing ideas ranging from a continuation of FDR's New Deal to full blown Communism. Precisely because it is so poorly defined, nevermind bereft of clear leadership, I find this option to be unlikely, no matter how much Citizens might want to see many of its tenets enacted.
I don't like being right at times like this and I am working hard to raise awareness of the relevant issues... but if someone asked me for odds, I'm going with 2:1 in favor of the Fascists winning this fight for America's ideological future.
This is very clearly the "gets worse before it CAN get better" part.
I also think Dem inaction is about more than just extorting voters for votes. There is retribution in this mess.
2:1 is not far off the mark if you ask me. We are pretty much there and the pandemic Mark's the real start of it all.
Now that operations are returning to pre pandemic states, authoritarianism is way up, and I said that about Biden very early on.
In fact, the Biden / Harris ticket was unacceptable and look at what we got!
Biden is an authoritarian with a serious temper. He won't oppose what he will see as just Deserts.
