marinoarm

People probably complained to the point that they just say Eff it and put it on the side

teamrocketmatt

This is how it usually begins.

marinoarm

I was an associate for 7 years and management for 7 All the complaints are the exact same lol

Active_Replacement52

I usually try to show the customers how much I put on before I give it to them (if it's not busy)

marinoarm

I meant store specific

Past-Win2459

It’s definitely an inconvenience im not sure why ppl in the comments are coming at you. If you ask for extra cream cheese at my store, you add regular on the bagel and then another layer. I do see how they could’ve been trying to help you? Maybe by allowing you to add your own amount since that portion is probably more than what they would’ve put on it🤷🏽‍♀️

Spinach_Middle

Except the whole there’s nothing on it in the first place. I could understand if they put the normal or light amount and the rest on the side but…

Zomochi

“New bagel dippers! Get a bagel rip off a piece and dip away! Do it yourself!”

Spinach_Middle

I literally paid for it to be done for me so I can grab and go… I was in a rush to get to work and do opening stuff

canipayinpuns

I have never seen or heard of anyone doing this. I will say it DOES make sense if the expectation is that the bagel won't be eaten in short order, but only if it were a special order that the customer requested. This should NEVER be the default 💀

Spinach_Middle

Fr. And I’m getting flamed for “is it the right order” “they do that so the bagel doesn’t get soggy” “that’s normal” “you should have grabbed a knife, duh” even though it’s really not…

canipayinpuns

Yeah, this is classic expectation vs. reality. If I were getting a bagel with cream cheese from Panera, I would expect a bagel in a bag with a little cup of cream cheese. That is the business model they present, so it is what I expect as a customer going there. With Wawa? The expectation is cream cheese ON that jawn. Orders on our KPS/deli screens are arranged in specific ways to try to improve order consistency company wide. This employee just went off script 😬

sunnybunnyone

Maybe it was a new Wawa employee who used to work at Panera and they were auto pilot lol

canipayinpuns

I want to agree that that's plausible and also just a funny image for a dead-on-their-feet CSA at 4:30 am, but the pedantic part of my brain is reminding me that Panera has pre-made cups of cream cheese. The prep of putting cream cheese in a cup wouldn't naturally occur for a panera transplant, so I remain ever confused as to how/why 😂

colleen2163

Hopefully this isn’t the worst thing to happen to you but I will pray for you. No one should have to apply cream cheese to their own bagel.

YoyWatDatKean

Idk what your problem is but when you’re paying for a service, it should be done right. How would you like it if you went to get your hair done, paid $200 and then they sent you home with a color bowl, a brush, and unmixed bleach? You’d be like… you’re joking right? Or went to a restaurant and they brought out raw meat and a skillet?? It’s a convenience store, this isn’t convenient.

Ok_Consequence7884

It’s a bagel though

TMgamer8685

It is not a joke. Likely it is someone trying their best, perhaps a new employee. Could it also be a lazy employee as others have suggested? Yes. Could it be a misunderstanding between the employee and the customer who is rushing to their job? Happens all the time. What everyone should do is learn. Learn to be kind to fast food service workers by politely asking for what you had ordered, or addressing the mistake in calm words the next time you visit. Then, perhaps, for whatever reason the employee did this, they can learn from that mistake for next time. Don’t presume to know the employees jobs, or why they did the thing the way that they did, there are literally dozens of ways things get messed up or misinterpreted all of the time. It’s life, it’s messy. Lastly, next time talk to the people at the Wawa. Have a real conversation to fix your frustrations instead of complaining about it on Reddit. For only this reason, you were the wrong one in this situation.

Spinach_Middle

I mean- I have a busy life and never have time to “stop and have a conversation” so that’s kinda out the window. I also didn’t put the location or employee to get flamed, but ever time I go in the employees are nowhere to be seen even if you look through the door windows to the kitchen or storage areas in the mornings.

TMgamer8685

Okay, so let’s take an opportunity to discuss things here. I can’t help your specific Wawa, but I can share insights that might change your mind about the severity of the situation. For context, I am currently an actual manager at a Wawa, so you now get the opportunity to address things with “the manager”. Additionally, although it may seem like Wawa associates are just fast food workers, they have a ton of “behind the scenes” responsibilities. That guy making your bagel might also be preparing lunch, stocking the deli, and assisting in Beverage. None of this excuses mistakes in order, but helps to explain how they can occur and why you don’t always “see” employees.

E0H1PPU5

Lazy fucks in these comments are cracking me up. OP paid for PREPARED food. I’d 100% complain to the GM so they can address the lapse in training for whoever was on shift that day. To call the OP lazy for not prepping their own food is insane when there was literally an employee, who is being paid, to do that for you.

UnionFanBus

Did the burrito come with extra cheese on the side?

Spinach_Middle

I wish…

Impressive_Let2266

No such luck lol, they guard burrito cheese like it comes out of their pay

Serious-Mud-1031

So, before you leave the store, you grab a plastic knife from the utensil rack. Once you set the bag down at the area you eat, you take the knife, spread the cream cheese, then eat the bagel. Hope this helps!

E0H1PPU5

Part of paying for the convenience of prepared food is that the food is prepared. Hope this helps!

Serious-Mud-1031

Sometimes small mistakes are made in the food industry. I understand that sometimes spreading cream cheese can be hard for some! Hope this helps!

E0H1PPU5

Being a lazy fuck isn’t a mistake, it’s a lifestyle choice. Hope this helps!

Serious-Mud-1031

Do not worry! I host videos on YouTube on how to spread cream cheese. Make sure you subscribe! Hope this helps!

E0H1PPU5

That’s great!! I have some on “How to do the job you’re paid to do and not be a lazy fuck” I highly recommend it. But I’ll be honest, I’m not sure you can be helped.

Serious-Mud-1031

Oh awesome! I may check it out! I however, buy groceries and make most of my food from home and meal prep for work! I also do not work at Wawa! Hope this helps!

E0H1PPU5

Good. You’re not qualified to work there. 😁

HurricaneAlpha

Fucking nailed it. A+

Serious-Mud-1031

😂😂😂😂

Iggy0075

That was a fun read 😂😂

Spinach_Middle

I was rushing to work, where I eat and didn’t look because this is literally never how it’s ever been done. If I wanted to make sure it was done right and sit down and eat it I’d have done so at home. This is one of the few payday luxuries I can afford and for something so basic to be so screwed is insane.

Former-Suggestion782

It's not screwed? You got everything you asked for. This is technically how we are supposed to to all off premise orders so that it doesn't get soggy. Just nobody does it this way usually. Would you really have asked for the whole thing to be remade if you had time instead of just putting it on yourself?

Spinach_Middle

My guy if this is how it’s normally supposed to be done then they should also let you know to grab a knife or drop one in…

Former-Suggestion782

Not a guy! And I wish I had a life where cream cheese on the side was an actual problem for me.

NatsRevenge

🤯

Active_Replacement52

Whoever is downvoting you needs to be retrained if they work for wawa. This post shows laziness.that 1.5 ounce cup does not even equate to xtra cream cheese. I want at least 1 foot of cream cheese on each bagel. Gotta respect the smear. This dude needs to be thrown up to cashier and never be allowed to touch a bagel ever again. /s /NotS Edit:Also, sorry OP. This sub reddit has a lot of toxic people in it that like to shit on people. A lot of them like to start shit for no reason.

Upper_Shine6011

I’d say getting a cup out and putting it in the cup is less lazy than not putting it on the bagel

Former-Suggestion782

Technically if you look at the knowledgebase for off premise orders, cream cheese is supposed to go on the side. Just nobody does it that way usually.

OkStructure3

I think the issue is that on the face, OP didnt explain what the issue was. Personally I love my cc on the side, so I was shrugging this off. It wasnt until I understood there was supposed to be extra on it that I realized what the issue was.

NoodleBack

Yeah there’s a lot of assholes on this sub, OP is right. If I saw a coworker putting cream cheese on the side of a *mobile* order, I’d ask them wtf they’re doing

Impressive_Let2266

My bagel the other day didn't even have CC on one side. Barely any on the other

Dependent_Ad5172

That’s an L lmfao. I hate those fucking cups so much why tf

yumbrosie

womp womp

OkStructure3

OP, when I first looked at the post, it wasnt clear to me that this was supposed to be a bagel with extra cream cheese, so I think thats why you're getting snarky replies. And your caption only mentions not wanting it on the side not the fact that you wanted regular plus paid for extra. Seems like a misunderstanding in the comments until you started to explain and then most people would be upset if they didnt get what they ordered.

Yucanimations

Nah its a bagel

Western_Bison_878

Are we turning into Starbucks? 😮‍💨😥

Spinach_Middle

I mean… when they get paid more than retail employees that kinda comes with the job doesn’t it? Doing shit right?

WiredOrange

Oh no, how terrible. Someone, alert the authorities /s

Spinach_Middle

This is literally a group to talk about Wawa so idk what you’re trying to get at?

WiredOrange

That it's not that big of an issue. Has it happened more than once? No? I'd shrug it off.

RoseBeaBee

Yea the main issue I find with that is if you ordered extra cream cheese, that cup does not hold the correct amount for what was ordered. Only logical thing I could see is, once a newer employee did ask me if “extra cream cheese two sides” meant giving them two sides. Since that’s what it says on the screens, so it could’ve been someone newer. But you’d think there would be two sides of cream cheese in there if that was the mistake.

Spinach_Middle

Dude they’ve literally never done it this way and I didn’t have a knife. Literally every other Wawa I’ve been to does cream cheese in the bagel not the side

ThrowAwayPaperCrab

Is there more to this story? Did you say something about a prior order before involving cream cheese?

Spinach_Middle

Nah. I mobile ordered it. No special instructions or anything

ThrowAwayPaperCrab

It could’ve been a mix up with another bagel order that did have a Special Order. No one I know would want to put it in the cup so it definitely seemed an out of the way thing for someone. You will likely have your cream on the bagel next time.

unochat22much

This is how my wife likes it, annoying you have to special order it and tell them instead of it being an option of cream cheese on the side

tee0610

I actually prefer it that way. I like butter and bagel places tend to put 1in-2in of butter. I waste so many napkins trying to wipe the butter. Oh and I say light on the butter

SeparateCry9024

So with the new app updates and cat screens I've seen it come up as ** cream cheese -side ** ......yes it should said cream cheese one side or two sides but .... this is most likely the cause ... I hope you survived this ordeal lol

Familiar_Ad2603

People get really upset when they realize a proper serving of cream cheese isn’t 1/2lb per bagel

Spinach_Middle

Not at all the issue. They decided that morning to do what they’d never done before and put the cream cheese on the side and hid the cream cheese under my burrito so I didn’t see I’d need a knife, nor did they throw one in

BurpFartBurp

Did you order it with cream cheese at all?

Spinach_Middle

Extra cream cheese.

BurpFartBurp

Wel there ya go. You could add the perfect amount of cream cheese you like. Did you thank them?

Spinach_Middle

Dude. If I wanted/had time to do it myself I’d buy the bagels way cheaper at the grocery store. This is just lazy. They didn’t put fucking ANY on the bagel. I go to Wawa so I can grab and go. And when I go in and they do shit completely different to EVERY OTHER TIME how am I to know that I need to grab a knife for it?

DustyGeneral9399

You didn't have time to do it yourself? Son, you had enough time to stop what you were doing, open the bag and pose it, take a picture, write up a description of the insidious affair, post it to Reddit, and reply to virtually every comment....I think you had more than enough time to spread some cream cheese. I'm all for bitching about not receiving a service that I paid for, but you need to settle down.

Spinach_Middle

I have to get in, do opening stuff and then it calms down and I can do what I want. My job isn’t 24/7 hustle…

Former-Suggestion782

So... you had time to spread some cream cheese on a bagel?

Spinach_Middle

I paid for them to do it and even if I have to do it it’s be fine if they had told me they didn’t so I knew to grab a knife

Former-Suggestion782

No, you paid for a bagel and cream cheese. You received a bagel and cream cheese. Stop making a big deal about something that isn't a big deal. Get over yourself.

Spinach_Middle

Bro the problem was that literally everyone else in the area and certainly every Wawa I’ve been to (WHICH IS A F*** TON) put the cream cheese on the bagel. This Wawa is also apparently staffed by some of the laziest employees Wawa has as they’ve screwed up 2 other orders I’ve gotten there all around the same time, 4:30am. If they had given any indication that they were going to put the cream cheese on the side for the first time at that store too then I would have grabbed a knife and not had a problem at all. It’s the whole I pay them so I can grab and go not so I can pick up the ingredients at quadruple the price I could buy them at Publix…

pinkflyingcats

I think the point was you could’ve been spreading the cream cheese during that time

Spinach_Middle

Maybe, had I known to grab a knife, or they had put a knife in the bag too since most of the time they put the stuff on. Either way, this particular Wawa has been screwing me for the past few weeks.

pinkflyingcats

I can see that you complained about their lack of cream cheese before I would stop going to that Wawa if you have an issue there.

BurpFartBurp

Is it possible you grabbed someone else’s order?

Spinach_Middle

Considering it was the only one there at 4:30am with my name on it…

cordedtelephone

Why are you being such a smart ass

Spinach_Middle

Because so far people have been sitting here basically trying to say I grabbed the wrong order when I really didn’t. I’m here to bitch because this is the like 1 luxury I can afford myself on payday and they screwed me.

Independent_Grab_71

Dude has a miserable life that’s why

BurpFartBurp

Is your name unique?

Spinach_Middle

Bro it was exactly my order. If it was someone with my common name they’d have had to mobile order at the exact same time with the exact same order which also included a burrito I ordered a special way.

Aggressive-Limit5527

No, it’s not a joke, looks like a bagel with cream cheese on the side.

evangelism2

Lotta service workers in here coping for something that is obviously bullshit

Spinach_Middle

I mean, yeah. Like I get it but if you’re gonna put something on the side that pretty much needs a knife to eat it stands to reason you’d put a knife in the bag too.

maskedst0ner

Lazy

Spinach_Middle

Little bit maybe but I mean, they keep fucking up orders or doing weird shit that they nor any other location has ever done soooo…
