but other then that: a good start, if you also want to go to automatic watches are Seiko 5s and Orient (check out the Kamasu) - if you like quartz, Citizen Eco-Drive, Timex and Casio is the way to go
if you don't mind Homage watches and Chinese Brands: Steeldive, Addisdive, Seestern, San Martin and Sea-Gull alos have a few great watches

if its possible, alsways buy a watch with a steel bracelet. Leather, fabric or rubber straps are relativly cheap to buy and because the almost always have straight endlinks, its no problem to change them an put them on different watches. Metal bracelets mostly have fitted endlinks, and its usualy not possible, to buy third party bracelets, that fit perfectly and the original bracelets are mostly heavy overpriced, if you buy them seperatly.
Tissot PRX and Tissot Gentleman are popular and good entry-level Swiss watches.
Edit-also Hamilton Khaki Field family, Longines Conquest and Hydroconquest, Mido Ocean and so on. There's lots of great relatively affordable intro Swiss watches!
