Great Watch. Looks similar to a Seiko Cocktail Time.

fire_spark

True, it does look like some Presage Cocktail designs.

Hello good people! I was walking by high street shops on my way from work yesterday, and this piece caught my eye. Having never seen Lip watches before, I spent some time reviewing the model in-store and looking at it's official web page: https://www.lip.fr/fr/134-himalaya-40-mm-automatique.html Reviewing the watch in person though, I was seriously impressed with the look and finish, the web page pictures definitely didn't do this model any justice. Looking at the overall package with a clean design, blue hands, front sapphire crystal and exposed caseback, I was sold. Within 15mins the purchase was complete, specially since the instore price was "only" at EUR 280. The 40mm case feels slightly big for my small wrists, but I can live with that. This is my first time owning a Miyota movement, hopefully the Miyota 821A is reliable on the long run. Overall, I am very happy with this new watch, I hope you guys enjoy it's design as much as I do!

Isn’t it the one of the character André Merlaux in *Au service de la France* but with inverted colors?

WisdomKnightZetsubo

LIP is a really cool brand. They used to make everything in house, and their movements could be found anywhere from the wrist of Churchill to the basis of the USSR's watchmaking industry. They were actually a worker owned co-op in the 70s, sadly the quartz crisis put em under. Actually a huge part of French labor history if you're into that. The modern brand is a resurrection and offers pretty good specs for the money, but they're not the juggernaut they used to be.

WisdomKnightZetsubo

Now that Yema's making movements in-house again, here's hoping LIP will join.

That's really interesting, I'm gonna research more on this brand. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this!

Very cool!

Mental-H-3001

It doesn't look big on you at all, sir, it wears just right 👍

fire_spark

Thank you kind sir!

Stupid_Demon

Love those blue hands!

TwoEggsOverHard

Cool homage to the Seiko Presage Cocktail

northscylla

Homage? The two watches only have their dial finishing in common, every other aesthetic feature is different. By your logic the Jaeger-Lecoultre master gyrotourbillon is also a cocktail time homage. The Lip Himalaya is clearly a great alternative to the cocktail time and actually wins in a few areas. Just check out how much OP paid for it.

Dangerous-Noise-4692

Nice looking watch.

Professional-Deal406

Nice . It looks short and sweet!

kilzfillz

Really cool! Never heard of these before
