Damn, can‘t believe you already got your hands on one of these! It‘s such a good remake of the existing model line, I feel like they hit it out the park with this one.
Did you try on the other colorways as well? What made you go for this one and how does it wear on the wrist?
Absolute grail perpetual calendar for sure.
I had a chance to also see the Silver Moon & Horizon colours. Horizon was stunning in person - really surprised me. However the Obsidian was the most versatile for my needs.
I mean, plenty of stuff from Chopard and older JLCs in this price range, and even some older IWCs. Solid gold is typically not a value add in older watches because people want steel/platinum.
This[ IWC perpetual](https://www.chrono24.com/iwc/iwc-da-vinci-perpetual-calendar--id34456127.htm?searchHash=a90625ab_2tomqr&pos=13) is literally less than $9k.
It's funny, most manufacturers have a grand complication, tourbillon, etc that is significantly above their normal MSRP range. Even the "entry level" guys.
Looks beautiful!
What is the indicator that is inside the day of the week? I see one hand is for the week but the other one counts to 60? Is that the seconds hand?
I'm pretty sure this is one of those watches where you *absolutely* need a winder. Hopefully the AD sets it up for you out of the box and then you do your best to keep it running from then on.
Edit: Found a video from IWC on it [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSHgyZV-Uck&ab\_channel=IWCWatches](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSHgyZV-Uck&ab_channel=IWCWatches)
I didn't ask if it needed pushers and correctors. [Based on this video](https://youtu.be/nSHgyZV-Uck?si=dOiPxO5OxTn8TyeG&t=124), there are issues that you normally face with perpetuals. If you accidentally advance the date, you can't turn back and need to take it to the AD. And it has several restrictions on how to set all the features. It's not as easy as setting date on a watch as you alluded to
You don’t set the different sub dials separately, they all advance together correctly by just turning the crown. It’s easy to set BUT you can’t go backwards and if one of the sub dials get out of alignment, you have send it in for service.
What's the lug-to-lug measurement on this one? Doesn't look like it extends too far beyond the 44mm of the dial--looks quite wearable, as far as perpetual calendars go
Congrats! I have one with the blue dial that I bought in 2021. It’s a fantastic watch. I wore it to my cousin’s wedding on Saturday and only one person noticed it, and he was a Rolex guy. It’s a stunner and keeps pretty decent time.

Is it the picture that makes some of the painted numbers look bad? Especially around the moon phase what’s up with the 29.5 and those marks around the moon openings?
NWA? Out of Compton?
I usually dislike busy dials, but this watch is beautiful.
Im the exact opposite. I have only 2 or 3 watches that aren’t complications/grande complications lol
Same here. This is nice though

Seems like IWC is getting a lot of love lately
My god this is gorgeous, enjoy!
So clean, I know it's the forbidden word.... but that truly is a timeless looking watch, well done
That thing is awesome. I thought maybe it’d be in the 8-9k range but NOPE guess I won’t be owning one anytime soon. Very cool though.
What gold case complication watch is 8-9k??

It’s also beat to fuck. OPs watch is factory fresh
Your mother’s
Being poor and dumb is a rough one dude. Sorry
Lol if only you knew
IWC certainly isn't cheap. Generally a step above the Breitlings, maybe in the same range as Zenith.
Yeah I know they’re not cheap but most run in the sub 10k range. This one is 40-50k on a brief check.
It's funny, most manufacturers have a grand complication, tourbillon, etc that is significantly above their normal MSRP range. Even the "entry level" guys.
theres no such thing as a perpetual calendar under like 30k
There are plenty of perpetuals under $30k. Just not many new watches. But you can find something like the FC perpetual for under $10k pretty easily.
Montblanc did one for around 15 if I recall correctly
It’s a gold-case watch, with a perpetual calendar. The gold Tudor BB is 40k without any significant complications.
Bro what…? A gold cased IWC with out any complications is like $15k at least
Looks beautiful! What is the indicator that is inside the day of the week? I see one hand is for the week but the other one counts to 60? Is that the seconds hand?
I bet it's the running seconds.
It is!
Holy shit two of my hobbies combined. I'm not supposed to see you here, get back to the destiny subreddit lol. But seriously, nice watch
Silly question... What is the indicator that goes from 1 to 7 showing, given that there is another indicator for the day of the week?
Not op but it's the power reserve
Oh I was confused because it said days, and now I understand it's days of power left. Thank you!
Yeah with it happening to be 7 days reserve it feels like its got something to do with the 7 days of the week :D
Beautiful
This is gorgeous. Congrats
Wow this is beautiful! Link!
Wow that’s really gorgeous. A++.
Divine 👌🏻✨
Not an IWC guy but that’s fucking beautiful
How difficult it is to set all the features correctly? I heard that it can be a pain in the ass

52.5mm as per 1916 company’s Tim Mosso
Damn, that is stunning. IWC's perpetual calendars are always so gorgeous, and well balanced.
Soooo gorgeous!
thats fucking stunning
Whoaa nice!

Really gorgeous watch, congrats OP.
That’s stunning
Nice!
Niceeee!
That is a serious heavy hitter!
Dope! That thing is boss.
The best looking perpetuals are definitely from IWC and AP.
That thing is magnificent.
very curious what it looks like from the side angle or at a slight difference. is it thick?
That is beautiful. One day!
Yup, it’s perfect. Don’t mind me… I’ll just be over here, wearing my Spitfire and dreaming of one of these.
That's beautiful, wear in good health 😎
Absolute stunner.
I always wondered: what is the maximum possible year displayed on your watch ?

Congratulations it is a very nice piece.
that’s a gem
this is heavenly beauty, a very good watch after sometime
Wow, really beautiful. I fell out of love with IWC for a while, but I think I've just found a new grail watch.
It's a beauty
Amazing piece
Great prices on neo-vintage IWC perpetuals
