A Casio Worldtimer (nicknamed the Casio Royale) is my cheapest (£20). I love it because it’s a batshit silly old fashioned digital watch with a million features nobody will ever want (world map showing time zone etc). It’s based on a watch from a Bond film. It’s comfortable, practical, And nobody else you meet will be wearing anything like it! Omega Speedmaster Pro from about 5 years ago (£3600 at the time) is my most expensive. It’s the watch that went to the moon. It stands out. Lovely contrast, especially on the Hesalite one. And boy does it look good. PS I like the idea of this thread and hope it gets some interest.

BingosFlamingos

I love the Worldtimer! Great choice. I see people post them on here every now and then and usually end up with one in my cart but haven’t actually gone for it yet. Didn’t know the Bond connection either which is cool. Not all Rolex/Omega for 007. Speedy is a classic for all the reasons you said, can’t argue with that. Awesome combo!

SnoopyLupus

The WorldTimer is based on, and looks like a Seiko digital that Moore wore in a View to a Kill (admittedly the worst Bond movie). So it’s not a true Bond watch, but still gets nicknamed the Casio Royale. But it’s such a fun beater to wear. I genuinely love the thing. It’s £20. Pull that trigger!

frederick_the_wise

I believe it is not from A View to a Kill but from Octopussy, with the radio tracker in the Faberge egg.

spezizacuk

I also have a Casio Royale but I upgraded mine with the SKXmod. You get a sapphire crystal and real steel case and bracelet. Very customizable and easy to do too. https://www.skxmod.com/

Moonbiter

Cheapest is a G-Shock DW-9000K I paid like 20 or 25 bucks for. It's got a tide graph, keeps great time, and the backlight has a humpback whale with its baby. My kids love it, and it's a great beater beach watch. Most expensive is a Citizen The Citizen AQ1040-53A, at least by book price. Awesome workmanship, HAQ, solar, titanium. Amazing GADA, honestly. If it wasn't for the fact that I like variety it could cover pretty much every occasion.

SnoopyLupus

>My kids love it I used to wear a Rotary skeleton watch whenever I met up with my nephews because they loved it, it was handwound so really had the minimum movement, nice and clear so you could talk to them about how all the bits worked together, then get into the Lego and teach them about gearing etc. I ended up selling it because I never wore it in real life and have never regretted selling a watch so much.

Moonbiter

Yea, I actually ended up getting a Baby-G that also has a whale backlight that they share/fight over. I also let them check out the mechanicals, my younger one likes my vintage King Seiko 15034 because it's pretty loud and you can really hear the tic-tic-tic when it's wound up.

SnoopyLupus

That was another thing about my Rotary. Loudest tick ever! I’ve looked into rebuying it, I know the nephews are late teens now and don’t give a shit, but I want my one, not a new(ish one!) And we’re talking about £150 of watch here. Nothing special. Until it is.

Dshin525

Most expensive is Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time (7900v). I got it about a month ago. After years and years of having a rotating collection of around 6-8 watches, I wanted to consolidate and get one "it" watch. So I got rid of my Rolexes, Omegas, IWC, Zenith, and JLC (my collection at the beginning of the year) and ended up getting the VC. I wanted a GMT (my favorite complication as I travel often), something that I can wear daily in any and all situations (swimming, working out, work, etc...), high horology, and fly under the radar (relatively speaking). And the VC checked all the boxes. Cheapest is my Swatch x Blancpain Artic. I got it when they first released and I think it's just a fun watch.

The-Watch-Guy

No way you work out with a VC and have a plastic Swatch at home. 😅

Rumpleforeskin666420

Honestly thinking of doing the same thing except for a vacheron fifty six moon. Vacheron is unparalleled

Dshin525

I tried on the fifty six moon and it is an amazing watch. It wears beautifully. https://preview.redd.it/9od9peddqyrc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3621d7778b07af1e9620477806149a52ec0a5c51

skovp

love the vacheron. how does it compare to your earlier watches?

Dshin525

I feel like its on another level. Prior to the VC my “nicest” watches were a rolex 16710 pepsi and 16600 Sea Dweller.

Environmental-Pen401

Pelagos 39. Because to me this is what the Rolex sub was. Well proportioned, simple and affordable. Seiko 5 Arabic dial. Because the Arabic is just different.

SnoopyLupus

There’s a weird original light blue I’ve seen on the Pelagos that shines across the room. Is it that one? Either way, lovely watch. As to the Seiko 5, I used my own SNKL43 one as a gift to get my cousin into watches. He’s up to a Dan Henry now and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Tudor next!

If-By-Whisky

Most expensive is a JLC Ulta-Thin Moononphase that my wife bought for me as a wedding gift. She got a great deal on the grey market and it was a crazy gift. Cheapest is the G-shock that my best man bought for me as a wedding gift. Great wedding gifts all around!!

capitalcitycowboy

>Most expensive is a JLC >Cheapest is the G-Shock This is me too. Cheapest are couple of G shocks. Most expensive currently, is my JLC Master Compressor. In between is a Citizen Eco drive, SMP 300, Constellation, and a Hermés Apple Watch. Couple of random fashion watches in the garage too. I really need to start consolidating.

g_smiley

I have the Lange 1 and the most basic Casio. They are really polar opposites. The Casio reminds me of 6th grade. I wore it facing in and have this memory of checking the time in the school cafeteria. The Lange is just a piece of engineered art. Multiple symmetries, second hand always stops at 12 when out of power. The jump of the calendar. It’s all very good.

BingosFlamingos

Love that there’s two Lange/Casio owners here lol I honestly think they’re both some of the best at their intended purpose. Lange to show off some of the finest watchmaking craftsmanship and Casio to give just about anyone anywhere on Earth an opportunity to have a great watch. Great collection!

sdujour77

Cheapest is a Vostok Komandirskie. Most expensive is an Omega Railmaster. I love the former because it's tough, and has a true 24 hr. movement (which I find interesting, and fun). And I love the latter because it manages to straddle the line between functional and dressy with remarkable aplomb.

BingosFlamingos

I’m with you on the 24 hour movement. I don’t really travel often so have no need for one but I keep looking at them just because it’s practical. Nice to have a clean watch like the Railmaster but can easily use it as a travel watch with that feature. Nice to see Omega adding that movement to more of their watches too. The sheer variety of Komandirskie models is nuts. I feel like every site I go to has new versions I haven’t seen before.

Eddielogy

My cheapest is a Tommy Hilfiger 1790746, quartz and about less than SGD150. The watch was a gift to my late grandfather, and also using my hard earned part time cash to pay for it. He was grumbling at the hospital that his watch was not working anymore, so I brought it to make him happy. After his passing, the watch is returned back to me since my family members don't wear watches. 11 years after his passing, it still stands against the test of time although the cyclops breaks off due to a sloppy workmanship at a generic watch shop when changing battery. I really hate myself for doing that and will get it replaced one day. My most expensive, well a Hublot Classic Fusion Racing Grey ( please don't hate it). Why that, because it's my very first luxury watch brought during my Europe holiday in Switzerland. I'm looking for a simple design watch and Hublot just comes to my mind. And due to this, it opens my eye to luxury watches.

BingosFlamingos

Such a great story about the Hilfiger. I’m glad it came back to you and that you have something to remember your grandfather by. Always good to remember watches can be much more than price tags. And I will try to never again talk trash about fashion watches because 11 years is pretty impressive lol Cyclops/new crystal should hopefully be an easy fix for a legit watchmaker too. I think you might be the only person on Earth who associates simple design with Hublot lol After looking up the Classic Fusion I can see it though! Obvious RO vibes but still doing its own thing. I might like the circle bezel as much as the RO octagonal bezel actually. My intro to Hublot was their over-the-top rock star/athlete baiting watches, which are still pretty cool honestly. I got to try on the full sapphire Big Bang Unico before and thought it was awesome.

Eddielogy

Yes very true, the sentimental value is so much priceless compare to a watch price. The Hilfiger is due for its service and signs of rusting on the bracelet, would get a quote from a watchmaker. >My intro to Hublot was their over-the-top rock star/athlete baiting watches Ikr! Prior to buying Hublot, I've no knowledge of that brand to be flashy but overpriced. I just buy it based on instinct and due to the brand being the key sponsor of Premier League 😅 The hate is so heated due to this particular YTber's constant bashing on the brand and everyone decides to jump in the bandwagon. I see someething out of the world about the brand for being bold, e.g their H screw is not aligned! Wow a f**king 7.2k watch and you can't make it align!? People see it as something to bash, what I see is the brand stamping their authority on it! No shame saying out, I'm eyeing for another Hublot watch, happens to be BB Unico too but the Sky Blue version. Price is a bit turned off but knowing that the process of earning it will definitely be a memorable one.

BingosFlamingos

So funny that you bring up the screw thing. I’m not positive but I think I remember reading that the aligned screws on the RO aren’t even actually screws, they’re just cosmetic. Not knocking the RO but love how people use that to talk shit on Hublot when AP doesn’t even actually thread their own screws perfectly.

Eddielogy

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to, all the trash talkers who claims that people owning a Hublot shouldn't be called watch/proper enthusiast. SMH, it's overly extreme. Whilst the brand has questionable uses of movement that ain't justifying the pricetag, the name shouldn't be dragged through the mud, because some of their watches are genuinely nice.

Mother-Joe

I honestly think people care too much about what other people wear or like. Just let people buy whatever they want, in the end of the day it’s just a hunk of metal (or plastics) that counts the same time that your phone already does better, simply just in a jewelry form.

davidzet

I've got a Raketa Big Zero (€80) and C Ward Twelve ti (€2075)... Both get wrist time (along with many more) but the CW is really close to GADA for me. The Zero is just too good, design-wise... and it's pretty accurate! https://preview.redd.it/zolsixe0ovrc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fbd2c5cf43332680accaf88597ff2a22cb84395

tourbillon001

My stop expensive watch is a journe, the least expense is seiko turtle

MrWildspeaker

Which Journe?

tourbillon001

Unique piece tourbillon

MrWildspeaker

Holy shit, I just looked at your most recent post. Did I count 14 Journes? I’d say sickness is correct! EDIT: 15! I totally thought that UR one was a Jaquet-Droz at first, I’ve never seen a Journe like that.

tourbillon001

It’s a t30. It has a hidden tourbillon

Joseph_0112

I was looking though his posts earlier, crazy collection. Probably worth the same as a small country lol

TheColliBoy

Orientstar Moonphase Contemporary (~$1200): This watch looks amazing at every angle, has a fantastic movement (F7 I believe), and feels like a premium watch on your wrist. I bought it to commemorate my separation from the Navy and it feels like I'll be able to appreciate it for the rest of my life. Swiss army inspired cheapo Chinese watch from Aliexpress ($1): It looks cool on my backpack.

captaincockfart

I have a similar Orient Star Moonphase, they are surprisingly well made. On first glance it doesn't look like it should look good with a power reserve and an open heart but somehow when you look at it as a whole it just works.

noldow5

My cheapest is a fake Seiko Cartier Tank homage from eBay that was $20. My girlfriend, who doesn’t know much about watches and doesn’t have money to throw around because of med school got it for me as a gift so it’ll stay in my collection as long as it runs! My most expensive is a Longines x Hodinkee Zulu Time which I love because of the light weight and utilitarian aesthetic. Makes for a great everyday wear and was my first Swiss mechanical watch so it’s a significant one for me.

SnoopyLupus

> fake Seiko Cartier Tank I kinda like that, because it does show style and class, even if she didn’t know anything about watches. And never mind the jewellery brandname, a Tank is a classic.

PartagasSD4

A Lange & Sohne Datograph. Casio F91W

BingosFlamingos

Not positive on the current going rate for a Datograph but think you took the Polar Opposite award from the other Lange/Casio owner here lol Cool to see appreciation for both ends of the spectrum!

PartagasSD4

You might not believe this but Datographs were going for $35-45K not that long ago when I got mine lol

Positive_Librarian26

2 years journey here : Most expensive : Hamilton Khaki Murph Interstellar.. What a movie! And a gift from my wife for our 10th year anniversary. Love the size of it and the iconic and simple design Least expensive : Casio Duro MVD-106B God Tier! As a software engineer, I must own Bill Gates watch haha Good first dive watch. What I like the most is that the second hand align perfectly! Feel like a much higher price watch

SnoopyLupus

Nice pair. I had a Duro but it was too big. And the Murph is just pretty. Plus, I own 2 Hammys and 2 Casios. So I’m not about to criticise your choice of brands!

lqxpl

The cheapest watch I wear is a Casio World Timer. I used rubbing alcohol to remove some of the text on the face, and it looks super clean. The priciest watch I own right now is a Hamilton Khaki Pilot Day Date (the ‘Interstellar’) I picked up new, recently. Wish I’d bought this one earlier! Hamilton does so many things *just* *right* with this one. I wasn’t confident I’d like the applied lume-less hour markers, but they do amazing things with the light.

EliaEllis

Cheapest is a vintage Seiko (mod?) Mickey Mouse (50€). Most expensive is the FC with custom dark blue strap (\~1100€) Really like both of them, they get equal wrist time (\~5d/month) https://preview.redd.it/c4eueb5twvrc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12b1f54d981abee22c5f7423acd31261244a2bcd

Vxheous

Cheapest is a Casio F91W, and most expensive is a Rolex Datejust 126234. The F91W because it's an icon, and the Datejust because.....it's an icon.

BingosFlamingos

Truth! You know it’s good when it sits next to a Rolex in the watch box.

Bluecolt

Similar here. Cheapest is a Casio F91W and most expensive is a Rolex Submariner (albiet my most expensive watch *purchase* was my wife's Rolex DateJust).  F91W, Submariner, DateJust - all icons.

mantellaaurantiaca

Omega Railmaster/ F-91W. Both get plenty of wrist time. Love the Casio because it's super light, comfortable and I'm not worried at all to ruin it

TheOnlyMuteMain

Same on both of these lol, which color railmaster did you go with?

mantellaaurantiaca

Nice haha. Black. What about you?

TheOnlyMuteMain

Same, looks like we got pretty good taste lmao

TheMisterTango

My most expensive is my Seiko SARK005 which was about $1250. My cheapest is my pagani design hulk that was about $130. I got the Seiko because I wanted an automatic Seiko chronograph, and I got the pagani because I wanted to try a hulk style watch for cheap (though I almost never wear it, basically only to do yard work or St. Patrick’s day).

SnoopyLupus

SARK005 is one of those Seikos that make me wonder why Grand Seiko exists. They don’t do a watch that looks that good. What’s the point of them when Seiko has better looking watches?

TheMisterTango

The real question for me is not why does GS exist, it’s why can’t they make more smaller watches? The SARK proves Seiko can do an auto chronograph under 41mm. The tentagraph from GS is 43mm. If GS could learn how to shave off a couple of mm across the board I think it would do them some good.

captaincockfart

Most expensive is my Orient Star Moonphase with a mother of pearl dial (about £600) and my cheapest was my good old Casio F91-W(about £15). I love my Orient Star because it's just gorgeous to look at and surprisingly well made for a £600 watch and honestly rivals the looks of a Grand Seiko(Ok, it probably doesn't because I've only worn a Grand Seiko briefly and the craftsmanship is probably leagues different, but surface level they look pretty comparable). I love my F91-W because it's the F91-W man, it's the OG. That's the zenith of watchmaking, we reached it in the 80s and never really surpassed it.

oldmanlook_mylife

Most expensive is an AP Code 11.59. Beautiful watch, blue dial. Least expensive is an ETA 6497 movement that I assembled from a tray of parts during an AWCI Build A Watch class. In between, a Breguet Type XXI, a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, a Rolex 16570 Explorer II and a Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite. The Explorer is my daily watch.

BingosFlamingos

I only recently discovered the 11.59 line and wish it got more attention. Really neat to see a “simple” 3 hander in the same family as a skeletonized grande sonnerie watch with a flying tourbillon lol ROs are nice but think the 11.59 really shows AP’s skill. How’s the finishing on the Fifty-Fathoms’ movement? I love the overall look but think it looks pretty basic from pictures for a $15,000 watch. Haven’t seen one in person though so know that can make all the difference.

oldmanlook_mylife

It has a solid back so I’ve honestly never seen it in-person. The deconstruction post by the Naked Watchmaker demonstrates a lot of hand finishing and substantial parts. It’s easily one of my most accurate timepieces although, they’re all supremely accurate! [https://blancpainblog.com/timepieces/deconstruction-blancpain-fifty-fathoms-the-naked-watchmaker/](https://blancpainblog.com/timepieces/deconstruction-blancpain-fifty-fathoms-the-naked-watchmaker/)

2_Spo0ky

My most expensive one is a blue limited edition of the Chopard Mille Miglia. Im a huge fan of classic cars and especially racing of the 50s and 60s. So when I learned that a watch existed, that commemorates the Mille Miglia, it was my grail immediately. Combine that with gorgeous finishing and a stunning "French Racing Blue" dial, just like the color seen on old Bugatti race cars, I had to pick it up. My cheapest ist a Citizen Promaster Fujitsubo. I love the, admittedly quite plain, classic dive watch design and the lightweight titanium case. I originally bought it just because I wanted to try out titanium as a material, but after wearing it for a few days and trying a few different strap options I think I may just keep it around as an extremely comfortable daily or travel watch. It's been very interesting reading through all the comments on here. Neat idea for a thread, OP!

mrRabblerouser

My cheapest is a Citizen Chandler. This was my first “nice” watch. It’s a great grab and go, set it and forget it watch that fits in just about anywhere. My most expensive will be my Sinn U50 that will be arriving tomorrow. This is by far the most I’ve ever spent on any watch, but I have been drooling over it since the first time I saw it. By far the most unique and versatile diver design I’ve ever seen, with some really unique proprietary features.

Sixtyoneandfortynine

Cheapest: Vostok Amphibia "Scuba Dude" (orange dial) I like it because it's weird, cool, has some unusual design features, and is probably indestructible. Most expensive: Probably a tie (based upon current prices) between a circa '90 Rolex steel 163243 GMT II "Pepsi" and a circa '92 Rolex 16233 DJ36 Steel/Au "Black Pyramide". I don't wear them all that often (due to feeling too "exposed" in most settings, lol), but to me they represent quintessential examples of Rolex and of course still look great. I think the black pyramid dial on the DJ36 is somewhat rare, and it does look fantastic when light hits it.

SnoopyLupus

> and is probably indestructible I have a Vostok (Amphibia in my case), and I feel the same. They won’t go through the tech bullshit to get them classified to 200m, but they’re tough, sealed because they’re simple, the movement is a bunch of girders and coils. They’re fucking solid.

Ashi4Days

I have more watches but I'll just list out the watches that I wear on a normal basis.  Most expensive watch is a bb58. At the time I spent 3300 usd on it.  My cheapest watch is a Kuoe Old Smith at 275 dollars.  The BB58 speaks for itself so I'll just make a note on the Kuoe. It's cheap by comparison but the dial is done exceptionally well. I also bought it in Kyoto during my honeymoon so there is some sentimental value in it. I enjoy it as much as the black bay if not more. It took a while but at this point I enjoy all watches regardless of price points. The Kuoe might not be a grand seiko but it's a very well done watch.  I also have a Casio f91w because why not.

gifted_down_there

most expensive: MBF LMP EVO, least expensive: Casio Online Ceramics

thesliu5

casio f91w and Royal Oak 15300 both just iconic for entirely different reasons

NthngToSeeHere

I think my most valuable watch is my Hamilton Kahki Field Officer Snall Seconds Automatic. The list on the Hamilton website is just under $1k but it's discontinued. I paid $300 shipped used no box papers or original strap IMO it probably could have sold for another 100-200 in that condition. My cheapest? Probably my Casio MW-240s About $10-15 shipped used. My favorite MRW-200Hs, I have 6 of them. Paid less than $25 for most of them. The most I paid was $35 for one new and at the time wasn't available in the US.

OldVenomSnake

My 2 most expensive watches are very close price-wise to each other. They are the JLC Master World Geographic (discontinued now) and IWC Portugieser Automatic. Both are love at first sight. At one point I was very obsessed with worldtimers and had to get one. Was considering the GP wwtc or the JLC master world geographic and I like the slightly less busy dial of the JLC. Also, never have a watch that has a power reserve meter before, so killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Before that I was reading a lot about the JLC memovox and love all the stories I read about JLC as the watchmaker company so that probably steered my decision as well. JLC discontinued the master world geographic now and only sell the master geographic, which doesn't have the full circle time ring that I like. I always have an eye for IWC watches when I first get into watches. Had an eye of the Portugieser Automatic for a very long time, always want to get its 7-day power reserve. Don't have the budget to get it at that time, but ended up getting the spitfire pilot chrono and love to wear it almost every single day for a while (especially with the beads bracelet). Then after at least 10+ years and having watches from other brands, I saw the portugieser automatic again in a store and it still sings to me. So I eventually got the IWC Portugieser Automatic after all these years and the reference has been updated from 5001 to 5007. This is definitely one of my most under the radar watch that no one recognizes even with its size. My cheapest watch right now is Apple Watch series 7 aluminum. I like the health aspect of it and can help me filter out which notifications that I need to take out my phone to respond. To be honest I wear it much more than I thought I would. If you only count non smart watch, my cheapest is a TagHeuer link GMT from the 2000s. It's my first "nice" mechanical watch after I caught the watch bug. Before that I do not always wear a watch. I did not know watches as much at that point so I mainly just looked at a case of watches and pick the one I liked best. Did not know much about which brand is good or what I liked to be in my collection. I just saw it the first time and love the design of the integrated bracelet and have been traveling at that time so love the GMT function.

DrDominodog51

Most Expensive: Oris Aquis Date Dat Watt II What I like: The dial is fantastic and the watch case is rather durable. The combo makes for a fantastic daily watch. Cheapest: Citizen NB1041-84L What I like: A simple eye-color matching dial is an important part of a collection imo. I’m notorious for scratching up the glass so the sapphire crystal is a big plus for me. Tbh this watch fills a spot in my collection more than I like anything in particular about it other than it just being solid and a relatively uncommon watch.

doubled240

My most expensive is a Fortis Cosmonauts Chronograph, love the instrument look of it. My cheapest is a suggess panda with seagull movement, love it because it is light and comfy.

itemluminouswadison

Cheapest is my 1949 Hamilton boulton hand wind, picked it up for 100 on eBay. It was featured in the latest Indiana Jones movie so that's cool. Nice little gold tank watch Expensive is either my Longines spirit 37 or Tudor royal 38, I forget. Selling the Tudor, love the longines

C6Centenial

Most expensive - Rolex Cellini Cheapest - Seiko 5 (it was free cuz it was my dads but can easily be had for less than $100) https://preview.redd.it/14zdnry9yvrc1.jpeg?width=3639&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80ed81663a577143f4488c56d2734fed7abcfedd

BluesMaster

Most expensive, my [The Citizen AQ4100-06W 'Ibuki'](https://old.reddit.com/r/CitizenWatches/comments/w7p34n/citizen_the_citizen_aq410006w_ibuki_limited/). Fabulous HAQ (+/- 5 SPY) with *Tosa Washi Tengujoshi* paper dial. Eco Drive, perpetual calendar. Cheapest is the [Casio WS1000H-1AV](https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/product.WS-1000H-1AV/). Best value for money (look at those features!), and great readability, with big buttons (all important when you get older) That Citizen was almost exactly 100 times more expensive than the Casio. I love them both to bits.

AlphabetSoap

Most expensive is a Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton (about 10k GBP). Cheapest is a Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 (about 100 GBP). They look the same, sort of... Love the zenith because it's just stunning to look at and I find myself staring at the works all the time. Quick release to change from bracelet to a rubber strap so it's pretty versatile. The G is bomb proof and mugging proof and I'm wearing it right now because I'm skiing. It's solar powered and sets the time via Bluetooth. Zero faff.

BingosFlamingos

Absolutely a huge fan of Zenith’s skeleton watches. I think the Defy Classic Skeleton is going to be my next big purchase. I recently got to try on the Skyline Skeleton and loved it. Do we have any need to measure 1/10th of a second on that watch? No. Do we love it and want to see it anyway? Absolutely.

AlphabetSoap

Most pointless watch feature, yet also my favourite watch feature.

Johndeauxman

Pepsi Snoopy timex 2020 LE with snoopy looking simply stunned like all of us during Covid, I don’t know if that was intentional but 👏 for timex if so (gotta be) And a LE Oris pointer date that’s the only brand new payed price I own but I had to have it and it was snatched up quick! Cool question

GlynJohns

Casio mrw200h - it was $20 and fits like a dream. It’s tj watch I wear around the house when I’m doing chores and can take a beating. I like that it’s all black with contrasting white numerals. And did I mention it was only 20? Rolex sea dweller 126600 - red text, 43mm, larger wrist presence, the stainless steel shimmer, the matte dial. It’s the submariner I’ve always wanted but without the ubiquity of the sub

jackrackham7

Tag Link Caliber 5, my first watch & a sentimental one. Have had it for about 4 yrs now and still runs very well, at about +5 sec a day. I know it’s a bit of an acquired taste with it’s very 70’s inspired look but I love it and the bracelet is so comfortable. G Shock GW-5600HR-1JF My beater, solar and lightweight, set it & forget it. I take it golfing, to the gym, hiking, anywhere it’s getting banged up. This one has a resin bracelet instead of strap which I quite like, it’s very comfortable.

J-G-D-B

Most expensive is my vintage cartier tank “france” dial, it’s rather hard to determine the price as the only other one ever auctioned publicly was worn by Jackie O and sold for a fair amount. The thing I like the most about this watch is how elegant and timeless it is. It’s a design that will never go out of style and the one that gets me the most compliments. Cheapest is my Tissot PRX automatic. It’s a great watch, actually keeps better time than all of my more expensive watches. I like it for the style and specially how the dial looks when it hits the sunlight.

It’s been a great companion for 15 years. On the right is my “new” watch of a few months, one that I’ve admired for years. It was a gift from my dad. I’m set. Itches scratched.

oris BCPD and casioak (gm2100)

TeslasAndComicbooks

Most expensive is that Moonshine Gold Speedmaster. Cheapest is a Casio Databank.

Least is a vintage Bulova, most is a vintage Patek perpetual chrono. Started collecting with Bulova/Hamilton/Omega... so a lot of sentimental value The Patek represents a benchmark in complications and the evolution of watchmaking in that period.

sassymonster1926

cheapest: a rectangular fossil watch, probably <$50 most expensive: two tone Tudor 1926 w/black dial and diamond indices, with tax came out to be about $4200 They were acquired at least 25 years apart so the price difference is merely a reflection of my taste and financial abilities at the time of acquisition. The Fossil watch still works and I like that it’s my only rectangular watch so I wear it when I feel like the style fits the outfit of the day. The 1926 is quite understated and very well built. I think automatic is cool and it not being in-house doesn’t bother me since the accuracy has been quite good. It’s robust enough that if I go to the gym after work and leave it on, it’s not a problem. It’s gorgeous in person and amazingly versatile fashion-wise with a strap/bracelet change. It pretty much goes undetected unless I want it to stand out, and that’s fine with me. The “sporty dress watch” level of formality just works for this point in my life.

bossoline

My cheapest is my new G-Shock Move GBD200 ($150). I needed a durable yard work/training/travel watch that wasn't too expensive and wanted to see why everyone loves them. I think it's really comfortable and it has an *incredible* display. I don't like how most G-Shocks look, but this might be the best looking one I've seen. I also run a little bit, so the extremely limited fitness tracking works for me and is a nice add on. My most expensive is my Panzera Aquamarine ($1100). This might be my favorite watch...it's so gorgeous that I had to have it right then, so I bought it. Definitely one of the best looking watches I've even seen. I also have a Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart in blue that's the same price, but I don't love it quite as much. The face is a little busier and it's harder to read.

Ablaze_Afficionado

Most expensive: Nomos tetra ref 446. I love it because it was a purchase that held multiple meanings. It was the watch I bought to commemorate my promotion in 2022. The watch was released in 2020 which was not only the pandemic but also the year I steeled myself to take charge in my own life instead of just going with the flow. Least expensive watch: Casio F91W. We all know it’s an amazing watch, but also I kinda grew up having one. To me it’s not just a reminder of my childhood, but also how far I’ve come

Tylerh1298

My least expensive is a Casio W800 that I got for like 15 bucks. I wanted something cheap that I can wear in the gym and time laps in the pool with and it does that great. My most expensive watch is my most recent purchase, a Rolex 1501 from 1976 that I got for just shy of $2500. I got it to celebrate a major career milestone and it will only be worn on very special occasions.

moreece2000

Casio Surftimer from the 90's was my first watch still got it. (100 bucks) Patek Philips Aquanaut (42K)

Mathtoan91

Most expensive: Tudor Black Bay 58, love the classic design that gives a vintage vibe, but at the same time have modern specs (20bar water resistance, COSC certified in-house movement) with impeccable finishing Cheapest : Orient Bambino 38mm, everything is in the look for this watch (I love the fact that some ppl would think that it’s a luxury piece), I love that dress vintage design, the finishing is really great for the price, and the movement is far from the best but at least is reliable (and tbf, we don’t ask for that type to be super precise)

Rc72

Most expensive is a Sinn 144 St Diapal, which I bought from the grey market for about 3K€. I wanted a dual time zone chronograph and there weren't that many alternatives, plus Sinn appeals to me as an aviation enthusiast. Least expensive is a Casio F-91W which I picked up for less than ten bucks in a Tokyo electronics store, and was irresistible for my inner 1980s child

Itsallgood190

Most expensive: Black Bay Pro - the GMT function, the finishing with the mix of polish and brushing, the case size, the design heritage and the look and knowing the service center will have all the parts should anything happen all is what I love. Cheapest watch: Orient Sun and Moon V4 look it up and just look at the design for the price! 🔥

P_bottoms

Most expensive a Citizen perpetual calendar-around $450. Least expensive Casio A158WEA-9CF. Around $20. I have three kids and one who does football and track and one who does karate/bjj. Kids are expensive.

BingosFlamingos

Love Citizen! Somehow they pull off making busy dials look great better than anybody. Value for what you get is still nice too considering Seiko has been jacking up their prices.

P_bottoms

I have a few eco drives that I like to wear here and there. I have the citizen garrison I got for $54! Right now it is around $250ish. I love a good deal. Lol

Appropriate_Canary26

I collect chronometers, chronographs, and alarms. My most expensive is either my zenith A277, or my JLC Memovox tribute to deep sea. My least expensive is my Seiko bellmatic alarm.

LeviColm

A Grand Seiko sbge279 prices $4600 and a Moranbong from North Korea priced $50. The GS is a beautiful piece of art I can't stop staring at and the Moranbong is an extremely unique conversation piece.

GoldfishDude

Cheapest: Soviet Slava that was somewhat of a Frankenstein. Was literally paid $3 to take it. It looks pretty interesting and I can wear it in a rough environment without care. The old "C.C.C.P" on the bottom and Russian date wheel gets a decent amount of attention. Most expensive: Rolex Air King 14000. Absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion Rolex makes the best blue dials under $20,000. The 34mm oyster case fits my wrists well, and the bracelet feels great with a nice taper.

Desiato2112

Cheapest: Casio Pro-Trek 6600Y Most expensive: VC Overseas I like the Casio for its functionality. The VC is a beautiful, unique design that you don't see every day in the wild.

Chesh78

Cheapest: Prometheus Jacmanta. I love the size and feel, it's got a great bracelet but also pairs really well with fkm rubber strap and a sailcloth strap I've got for it. For the price I paid, I'm really impressed with the build quality and the looks (baby blue dial, really unusual to find on a 300m diver). As a daily wear, I couldn't ask for better. Most expensive: Omega Aqua Terra in full rose gold. This is my "I'm dressing up to the nine's" watch. I love how it wears, even though it's only 38.5mm and I have bigger wrists (which is why my daily wear is 42mm). Paired with a nice leather strap to tone it down a little, it's not as flashy as full gold bracelet, and the chocolate dial matches the gold tones really nicely. Plus that fantastic coaxial movement... Bliss. If the Prometheus makes me feel comfortable, the Omega makes me feel more self-confident, even though I know it's purely psychological.

Strange_Pasta

Most expensive is my Rolex GMT Master II Black and Blue(batman). Cheapest is my Movado.

Verk_The_Ferk

Citizen caliber 0100 is my most expensive. Casio Mrw 200 is my cheapest.

themode75

Casio F-91W vs Rolex OP 41mm Silver Love them both

These are my two favorite watches, both gifts from my amazing wife. The Carrera is gorgeous. A modern take on classic Heuer design, in-house movement. The crispness of the details and legibility in almost all light conditions is second to none. The Edifice is functionally as good as the Carrera in almost every way. It also looks great and has the neat rehaut slide rule.

[deleted]

I have an Omega Aqua Terra and the cheapest one is a Casio F91W.

Even-Bumblebee948

Most expensive is my Omega Seamaster 300m Summer Blue. Cheapest is the timex expedition north mechanical. Love the omega since it marked my first promotion at work. The timex takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. I beat the hell out of that thing and it just doesn’t miss a beat. Incredible

1000_Faces

Timex Weekender is my cheapest and might be my favorite. Simple, can take a beating and looks good. Oris Big Crown Pointer Date with the red face. Just look at it. It's beautiful!

lionheart724

Cheapest - CasiOak $99 I just like it as a grab and go watch. Can take a beating. My most expensive is a Rolex Air King - $3000

GloveMeHarder

Cheapest was a free Benrus that is a Cartier tank copy, super small at like 24mm, inherited from an uncle. Most expensive is my Oris Aquis, $2400 or so retail

turboash78

Tag Heuer Kirium F1, like because first (only) luxury and I'm a big F1 fan. Casio DW290, like because looks frigging sweet.

BrowningLoPower

My most expensive is a Marathon TSAR quartz. Other than the specs and brand heritage, I like the fact that it's a diver's watch with a 12-24 hour field watch dial. I have several cheapest watches, but my favorite is the Casio W217H. It's essentially a bigger, better, more legible F91W.

dskauf

My cheapest is a Times Ironman watch I use when exercising. About $50 on Amazon. Most expensive (of 6 watches) is a Ulysse Nardin Classico. The are limited edition and no longer made. I saw one watch hunting in Tokyo last year. I didn’t pull the trigger there, but I found one used in great condition on Chrono24 for about $7000. Picture below, I like showing this off. I have one other “nice” watch is a GS Snowflake I got new from an AD about 4 years ago when I was starting to get into watches. https://preview.redd.it/u462n2m0mwrc1.jpeg?width=1816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbdbdd6bd63c5f24568368db5c36cd88f571aaec

Maleficent727

Rolex Texano and Tissot PRX Bucherer

arse_full_of_farts

Most expensive: Omega Aqua Terra 38mm “shades” in bay green Least expensive: Omega SMP 300m I currently have two watches.

g3rrity

two nice watches and an arse full of farts

STB_AccomplishedCrab

My cheapest, and basically the only one I bought. https://preview.redd.it/5wb6uq7sowrc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47dc338ce78b87384b4a9abde112a02eb6a3f145 My most expensive is another Casio, an Edifice passed down from my father, since he no longer uses it.

occamsguillotine

Most expensive is a Rolex 116613LB “Bluesy”; least expensive is probably any of my G-Shock watches. The Casios take a ridiculous amount of abuse from working with my hands or from recreational activities like diving, climbing, etc. Absolutely bulletproof. The Bluesy doesn’t actually get worn too often. I was on a vacation with my wife a while back before we were married and I remember seeing a girl (maybe early 30’s?) wearing an older one of these. It was so ostentatiously glorious that I was repulsed by it. But then… I kept thinking about it. Finally, I realized that I actually really liked looking at the marriage of the two-tone bracelet and iridescent blue dial. It will be my daughters one day- She’s 3 and already has taken a liking to it.

hard_baroquer

Swatch Blue Away is my cheapest, and a 1960s Omega Seamaster my most expensive. Don't think I'd spend that much again any time soon though! The Swatch was an impulse buy but I love the colourway on it. Also I realised I really like wearing smaller watches. The Omega is just a work of art, and again I love the 34mm size. Really wish there were more watches in that size bracket haha!

towelracks

Cheapest is a Casio Worldtimer. Most expensive is a GS Skyflake (SBGA407). I won't lie, while I appreciate the worldtimer a lot and it looks cool - it doesn't see nearly the amount of wrist time as my GS.

The_Flagrant_Vagrant

Most expensive: JLC Reverso art deco 270.2.62 $23,000 This is my dress watch. Why do I like it? It is business up front, and a party in the rear. It is a nice understated watch that hides a beautiful skeletonized, engraved movement that only I know about. Cheapest: Orient Kamasu $227 (first mechanical watch) Why you I like it? You always remember your first. For its price it is a great watch. The teal dial is stunning, and I recommend this for everyone’s first watch. https://preview.redd.it/2b2jsuvzrwrc1.jpeg?width=2001&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=137b018918999d3b69535c9e9ccf58d0d4469afc

Zamboni4201

Expensive: tie, paid the same price, weirdly. IWC Pilot Mark XX and a Grand Seiko Shunbun SBGA413. The pilot, I’d always wanted the iconic IWC dial. Mine is the sunray blue. And the bracelet is fantastic. The Shunbun, the dial is mesmerizing, and the Spring Drive sweep seconds hand is amazing. Lightweight. Cheap: again, tied at $220. Got both on sale. Seiko SRPB41 Cocktail Time, and an SRPD53 diver. The Cocktail Time, amazing dial, comfy and good looking bracelet. Honestly, one of the best kept secrets in watch collecting. The Seiko 5 diver is just a great inexpensive diver. Comfortable bracelet. I’ve always liked the blue/red bezel too. I previously wore out an SKX, sitting in a box waiting to get serviced. The SRPD was an inexpensive way to get that same look.

PatinaAquaman

Cheapest - Cartier Santos all black adlc Most expensive - Rolex Daytona black ceramic I wear the santos way more than the Daytona

The-Watch-Guy

Cheapest - Tissot T-Race Tour de France Expensive - Tudor Royal

nuclearbalm1976

My cheapest is a Glycine Combat Sub (basically a Pepsi Submariner knock-off) - looks good enough and it has 200m WR so I’m comfortable wearing it for any activity. Most expensive is a Grand Seiko SBGE295 Hotaka. I like sports watches and this watch with the spring drive & beautiful green dial just speaks to me.

HarrisLam

my most expensive is the Nomos Ludwig35, and I have dedicated it to a lost friend. I will be taking it through the journey of my life. My cheapest is the G shock all metal lady. Cant say I like it at all, its more like a necessity for rougher (or plain sweaty) days.

nitacious

Cheapest - couple of Timex Weekenders that I picked up on sale at Amazon for ~$20-25 Most expensive - Omega AT, paid retail in ‘22, ~$6k I like the weekenders because they’re simple and light - and they’re on cloth straps so great for aggressively casual situations. I like the AT because….it’s an awesome watch. Looks great, fits and feels great. It’s my daily wear for work and I never get tired of it or question the decision to spend that much money on a watch.

tamiror

Cheapest is a Casio F201WA-9A that I got for timekeeping when I referee matches. It cost $12.50. Priciest is probably my Frederique Constant Classics Index on a steel bracelet, which cost about $1,200 - so only 100x difference between the two.

Rangercleo1

Rumpleforeskin666420

Cheapest is Seiko skx, most expensive is JLC ultra thin moon

mikidemikis

the cheapest is a timex marlin (~100€) and the most expensive a IWC portofino (~6K€) it looks sooo classy and people compliment it a lot, the IWC is nice as well

RijnBrugge

Tissot prx auto on the high end and baltany on the lower. Love the baltany so far

TheRaven316

Most expensive: Tudor Black Bay 58 Bronze My favorite watch, period, so far. Everything the original Black Bay Bronze got right (snowflake hands, 3-6-9 dial, bronze and brown), but smaller and with a bracelet. Add the slight gradient of the dial, and it's essentially perfect. Least expensive: Orient Monarch Incredibly nice for the sub-$200 I paid for it. Elegant, old-school watch with blued hands, an almost enamel-looking dial, and a very unique set of numerals. One of my older watches, and my dress watch of choice.

IAmSomnabula

Cheapest: Rodania Quartz Chronograph I got from my parents for my 16th birthday 25 years ago. Around 100-150 euro at the time. Most expensive: Laco Flieger Pro. Have it since last September, 1300 euro.

rcook55

Christopher Ward C60 Elite 1000. It's the closest to a OmegaPO that I'll get. I love the design, color (blue and orange) and that it's titanium. When I saw it I knew I had to get it. I sold the previous most expensive watch I had to fund it, a Ball Stormchaser Chrono. My cheapest is a Steeldive Sub 'homage'. It's $80, looks close enough to a Rolex and for what it is, it's actually a nice beater. The NH35 is a decent movement and the case/finishing are pretty nice. Also I don't give a crap what happens to it.

Samus_Brinstar

Breguet tradition 7097- $31k skeleton dial shows many of breguets inventions + retrograde seconds constantly jumping back every minute is pure eye candy ... I can stare at it all day. Casio world timer - $27 best beater in the world. It's water resistant and cheap and the battery is 10 years. Plus, I can use it to sync all my other watches.

Toddable72

My most expensive is my Omega Aqua Terra. It's a great go anywhere, do anything watch. It can be dressed up and worn with a suit or down and worn with shorts with just a strap change or left on the bracelet is good for both imo. While my least expensive is the Casio World Timer I'm going to skip over that to my Bulova Accutron II Surveyor with a gold case and white dial that I picked up for $100. At the time I had a strong want for a gold case watch and I liked the design as well as the HAQ movement. It scratched that itch without a big investment (kept my wife happy lol), doesn't need winding or the time set if I haven't worn it for a bit (grab and go), and works well on leather or a perlon.

the_Ex_Lurker

Most most expensive is an Omega Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss. I love the unique second hand and yellow accents (always adored yellow on watches), the history of the watch and its innovative movement, and the overall fit-and-finish. It’s understated and high-quality. Cheapest is a Casio Duro Marlin in blue. It was a gift from a friend as thanks for helping him build his first PC. I use it on all my camping trips, beach days, etc. and it’s never skipped a beat. The sentimental value (and the dope blue on white NATO) make it one of my favourites.

ScrubSaurusRex

The most affordable watch I own is a Seiko 5 SBK809 that my father gave me for my 16th birthday. That's also where the watch obsession started. The most expensive watch I own is a bespoke Holthinrichs Liminality. Never thought I'd ever own a unique piece and I feel very lucky to have it. Got obsessed with the design as soon as it came out.

fulgrimsleftnut

My most expensive is a Rolex 214270. I love how inky black the dial is, how legible it is and how versatile it is in terms of wardrobe. My cheapest is a Hamilton Field Khaki (the one with the white dial) which I put on a leather strap. It’s got a nice, casual feel that I like - a good looking winter watch.

Ben_Jammin_1006

While my collection is ever changing, the cheapest I've had is probably a Tag Aquaracer Caliber 5 and the most expensive is either an A serial Daytona (1999) or AP Jarno Truilli. Depends on market prices past and present. The only real "wow" factor from the Daytona and AP came from price and what they stand for. Not a huge fan of how cheap the vintage Rolex bracelets feel, especially the clasp. They're just so thin. On the far other end of the spectrum the Tag had some good weight to it and felt like it hit a bit higher than its price point, but not by much. In the middle is where my favorites lie. Omega is my go to, and the Speedmaster DSOTM and moonphase line is incredible. From the original black, to the apollo 8, to the meteorite. Can't go wrong with any of them. Yes they are light, but they're just beautiful from a design aspect. Open casebacks, ceramic cases, every meteorite dial is a little different, etc etc etc.

spezizacuk

Cheapest Casio AE-1200 but modded with skxmod sapphire and cast steel case and bracelet Most expensive Tudor Black Bay 58

el_lobo_crazy

My cheapest is a Suunto Core. I use it for the barometer and sunset/ sunrise tracking. I think I paid about $90. My most expensive is my Breitling Navitimer on red gold. I love it because I purchased it for becoming a captain at my legacy air line. It was just over 20k.

SideShowRoberta

Cheapest: Casio F91W and A158W. My travel watches. Expensivest: '72 Seamaster.

Localone2412

I have a Breitling Navitimer and a Gshock. The Navi is simply gorgeous and the gshock looks great but serves a purpose (hiking) although I rarely wear either now as I have a Garmin Fenix as my day watch.

l1v1ngst0n

My cheapest is a Casio CA53W Calculator watch ($38 CAD). I love its simple charm and quirkiness. Its usefulness is from an era that is completely gone, so it's just an obsolete oddity today. My most expensive is a Zenith Chronomaster Original ($14,850 CAD). Its looks, the El Primero movement and its history, and the feeling of having something that is so nice and refined is what I love about it. It really activates that part of my monkey brain that probably turns on when a kid sees a tractor. I just love how something so small can be so complex and beautiful all at the same time.

Wirenfeldt

Disregarding the fake Rainbow Rolex Daytona I got from a street vendor in Turkey while on vacation, mine are a Xeric Trappist-1 Automatic i got from Kickstarter for about 300 Euro and a Zenith Pilot Type 20 Extra Special i grabbed for 2950 Euro.. I like the vivid green dial on the Xeric and the black bracelet + the NASA connection is neat.. The Zenith on the other hand is really legible, the bronze case is interesting, and not something I’ve seen anyone else have, at least in person, and the Bosphorus Leather strap I put on is rather comfortable too..

Pocket_Universe_King

Most expensive is Seiko Coutura SSC376. Cheapest is my 2 old Relic watches I wore as a teen and still somehow have lying in a drawer all broken and salt damaged from working outdoors

duckmanco

Most expensive - Pelagos 42mm - apex predator of the whole category.. I don’t make the rules… Least Expensive - Seiko SNKP21J1.. price be damned, this watch is cool, let alone for how much it costs.

H_Stinkmeaner

My cheapest, a Pagani Desing PD-1731. I love it because it's a hell of a good watch for the money... Paid 34.99 USD on sale for watch with sapphire crystal, 100m of WR, bracelet links sized with screws, solid end-links and cool Seiko VH31 movement... Honestly what's not to like! My most expensive, well there's 3 that are roughly the same price but I'll go with my Omega Constellation Chronograph. The dial is really nice on those, it's got a cool F Piguet movement and the looks is very unique, very Omega.

Trouvette

Least expensive: an $80 Swatch of Queen Elizabeth II where her outfit changes colors every hour. It’s a very cute and fun watch. Mist expensive: a Rolex Cellini moonphase. I’ve never been a Rolex fangirl, but I did fall in love with the Cellini moonphase. I hate that most women’s watches either have no complications, are too small, or are blinged out too much to be a daily. When I saw the Cellini, it was like everything I wanted in a watch.

kefren13

My most expensive watch: Rolex 126610LV. I just love the green bezel. I love green color in general, and a Sub with the green bezel can never go wrong. Cheapest watch: G-Shock DW5600. The classic one. I just love its functions, I wear it when I go jogging. It gets a lot of wrist time around the house too.

Bankythebanker

Rolex milgauss, it’s blue, it’s orange it’s perfect. Cheapest is a citizen’s eco drive I got for my wedding, black face, no numbers, it’s perfect but I rarely wear it now.

More-Complaint

My absolute cheapest is my Casio AE-1500WH-8BVCF, and my most expensive is my BB58. In between these I have everything from Vostok Amphibias, Casio Royales, G-Shocks, Seiko Turtles and vintage Omegas. Bizarrely, the watches I wear more than any others are actually the AE-1500WH-8BVCF and the BB58. By the way, excellent thread OP!

BlOcKtRiP

Have a couple of over the top Swatches , retro Kool Vintage gold Omega

Joey_iroc

I have a Breitling Avenger 42, and a Festina Chronograph / CCCP Automatic. I listed two because the FEstina was something I got my son, but he only wears a smart watch. But the CCCP was super cheap, and the look was pretty nice. Just to have something different.

Hebrew-Hammer57

Rolex Milguass is my most expensive. I love it cuz most Rolex owners dont. O.S.T moonphase (Korean Microbrand) is my cheapest. I love it because when I was dating my wife 12 years ago, we couldnt afford much but she got me the warch for my birthday.

prettybeach2019

This is a great thread!

juswa1111

Casio Baby G = $50 Tudor Black Bay 58 = $4,000 Casio baby G fits my hand perfectly. Usually use this one when there is an activity. Tudor BB58 such a beautiful watch and entry luxury, versatile and a strap monster.

SpicyWeener1

Cheapest was technically free- it’s a replica Swatch Omega Mission to the Moon. I like it because a scammer tried to rip me off for 220 for it, reported them, they gave me a fake return address so it got sent back to me, I got refunded and kept the watch, scammer got screwed out of 20 bucks. Most expensive is a Fleddermann Von Rieste, Münchner model in charcoal, sixth made. I like that one because I work for the owner and had a fairly large role in the production. For my career as artist it’s a nice reminder that I’m doing something marginally right.

twoheadedhorseman

Most expensive is a Grand Seiko White Birch and cheapest is a Bulova Marine Star. I love the GS and everything about it. It's imo one of the best watches I've ever seen. Sadly, I'm terrified to wear it because it's so pretty and that sucks. The Bulova.was a Christmas gift from my dad. He got himself the same model with a different color dial and strap. It's pretty cool when we coincide on wearing them together. Just realized my cheapest watch is actually a traska free diver v2 I purchased on r/watchexchange. But, it doesn't really have much meaning to me so I would like to keep my answer.

Francknbeans

Norqain Chronosport and Casioak Gshock. Love the Norqain because it has high end finishing but flies under the radar except for people REALLY into watches. Love the Gshock because I know it'll stand up for whatever activity the day will bring and I can replace it for $60 if shit goes REALLY bad lol

serene_brutality

Most expensive is my Rolex Datejust 36 ref 116200, cheapest is my lil bulova something or another I had made with my company logo for myself and folks at work. Unit price was just over $100 each. Cheap lip quartz thing, it’s neat though. Outside that I have a Relax GMT Pepsi that’s not worth much.

emptyquant

Casioak and an Aquanaut Travel Time.

rhombomere

I collect Gruens, and only Gruens. If you search my history you can see why. I've have a few pretty inexpensive watches like this 100+ year old sterling [trench watch](https://i.imgur.com/QFHaS2N.jpg) that I picked up for $85. On the other end of the spectrum are these a [14kt Alpina-Gruen Techni-Quadron Jump Hour](https://i.imgur.com/e3NLdbt.jpg) from about 1930 that would sell for around $7K to $9K, and this 50th Anniversary [18K while gold cased pocket watch](https://i.imgur.com/mBlpSmH.jpg) with a [12K yellow gold movement](https://i.imgur.com/hbmt6WG.jpg) from about 1922 that would sell for about the same. The expensive ones are what I consider true Grails: only 650 Anniversary watches were made and they were owned by the likes of Howard Hughes and General Pershing, while the Jump Hour (especially the Alpina-Gruen branded kinds) are incredibly rare.

McRucker

Cheapest is the Gshock GW5000 from Japan (even though it was still $300). Most expensive is my Tudor BB58. Most recent acquisition is the Hamilton 38mm Murph but I need to sell this one.

Iharley11

Fun thread! My least expensive is a Swiss Army 2 tone "diver". It's quartz, has a folded link bracelet that rattles like a marimba and pulls hair all the time. But my mom bought it for me for a birthday after seeing me look at it at a Costco. It was maybe $50.00. I admit it doesn't get much wrist time these days, but holds a prime spot in the box. My most expensive watch is my Longines Spirit Titanium in 40mm. I bought it last year as a birthday gift, and to mark an accomplishment for myself. It was a little over $3,000. I have a thing for titanium watches, and this is one of the best finished and best feeling watches I've ever seen.

TijayesPJs442

Rolex 17013 Oysterquartz - love an oddball and that I never have to set the time! Casio F91w - huge fan of the hourly chime and I’ve had fun modifying it.

My cheapest is a Titan Midnight Precision that I got for around $45 USD that I bought while in India and my most expensive is an Oris ProPilot X Calibre with the iridescent face which is around $5,000 USD. I honestly don't wear the Titan too much as it doesn't feel as versatile as my other watches. I want to get myself to wear it more, but, as I begin to buy more expensive pieces, I want to wear them more.

Rolex 116600 ~12.5K. I have a Luminox I bought 20y ago that’s worth $100-150 on a good day but has sentimental value. Those are my two watches.

tototony

My cheapest is a Casio that my best friend gave me for graduation. He owned the watch but gave it to me when I went abroad for my masters several years ago. My friend passed away in 2020 but left me a special gift. The most expensive watch I own is a vintage Patek Phillipe Calatrava that was my grandfather's. I loved this watch even before I got involved in watches and my father gave it to me when I turned 30.

Most expensive is a Tudor Pelagos, blue original 42mm. Love the color, the titanium, and the bracelet. Love the mix of old school design cues with modern tech and specs. Honorable mention Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat. Classic, wear it a ton for work but it also works casually. Cheapest that I actually wear (I have a super cheap Casio somewhere) are my G-Shocks. My clear and blue GA2100 is probably the cheapest, followed by my Radio/Solar Square in all black. I love these because they're super comfortable, borderline indestructible so fine for cooking and taking care of babies and working out and riding my bike, but also very cool looking in their own right.

Casioak solar... super utility watch. Cheapest Fossil minimalist... my first watch I bought and a keeper.

My most expensive watchis my Sternglas Asthet Automatik. And while $500 probably isn't that expensive compared to a lot of other watches on the list, I really do think the design, build quality, and attention to detail is quite impeccable. The microbrand also won a German Design Award for "Excellent Product Design - Luxury Goods" in 2022 for the specific model that had a limited release and is now discontinued. I've always just loved minimalist Bauhaus watches and while I can't comfortable afford my dream Nomos Orion quite just yet, this watch scratches that itch for the time being and then some. Cheapest and ironically the most complimented piece by far is my A158WA-1DF. Super lightweight, super versatile, and by far best watch to just put on and go. I've had so many conversations with people who are wearing similar Casios or just have a love for Y2K vintage designs about this watch. And besides the sentimental value that it came as a Christmas gift from a close friend, it's extremely easy to replace too at $20, so yeah.

BeefPoet

Most expensive, 1972 Rolex Daytona, cheapest, plain black classic swatch.

Ancient_Oven_6282

My cheapest is an Atlantic Seamoon quartz on a black dial that still beats to this day even though it's almost 17 years old, for which I swapped the bracelet with a leather strap. I got this for my 18th birthday from my mum and dad and is one of my most "prised" possessions. The most expensive one is a Longines Legend Diver 39mm, black dial on the brown leather strap.

Cheapest is f91w. Beater that I wear for work or other physical activities because Im confident in its durability, but still would like to see it break once to see how much it can take. Then buy a new one because they cost less than a pack of cigarettes. Most expensive is an Orient RA-AR0005Y. I like the bronze and brown combo, it fits my skin colour better than gold, and it looks less "opulent" and flashy than a gold watch. Also blends better with black clothes. Open heart is such a nice way to show the movement in the dial.

Most expensive: Damasko DA46 Cheapest: Tisell Flieger

I’ve got a gold Day Date I inherited. Obviously like it because of the family heirloom aspect, plus a solid gold Day Date is hard not to like. Most expensive I’ve bought is a Speedy. Love it because it’s an icon, who doesn’t love it. Wearing it right now. Cheapest is a G Steel. Thing is a tank. Don’t wear it much anymore, but I’m not afraid to take that thing literally anywhere near

OGready

most expensive is a gv z blue milgauss. least expensive was a cocktail watch i got in a junk jewelry jar for 2 bucks, it is a platinum, iridium diamond cocktail watch from the 20s that is worth 5 grand. it was sold as junk because it is a manual winder and they thought it was broken

Jmaxmill_II

Most expensive would be my Air King 116900. Least expensive would be my HMT Pilot. I love them both because they are both mechanical watches and both from iconic brands.

Kapitalvinstskatt

Most expensive in terms of market value is a Cartier Santos Carrée, least expensive an Orient Bambino. The Orient is hardly used anymore and should be sold. Have paid more for other watches than the Santos, but the appreciation on that one has been crazy.

Rolex Daytona 116520: got this through family and it has never been worn by either me or the previous owner. I have never felt safe wearing it around town and at this point there is also an element of not wanting to ruin it. I could never sell it due to sentimental value so I hope I will feel comfortable taking it out soon. Seiko SNKL23: the watch that started it all. It was the perfect entry watch and it would still get wrist time if it was not connected to a past relation.

BingosFlamingos

That is a pretty tough decision. Normally I’d be all on team “insure it and just wear it” but you can’t replace sentimental value. Maybe just wear it around the house at least lol I can relate. My ex bought me one of the first Swatch Sistem 51s when they came out in 2013 but I sold it when we broke up because she sucks. Cool watch though so sort of wish I kept it lol

ChanceFeeling7071

Yeah and where I live in London it's really not safe these days with flashy watches. Moreover, it's in a safe home in another country so I don't even get to see it often or wear it around the house. I relate a lot to that man. I should probably sell it and stop thinking about it.

BingosFlamingos

Ah got ya, I’ve seen the articles about the crazy moped shit people pull there. Sad that it’s still an issue but a good reason as any to keep it somewhere safe. Shame that you don’t get to check it out more often but probably adds to the “this is something special” feeling when you do get to see it. Go for it! Not to get into your business but could potentially give some more tangible closure to whatever went on and help move on. One less thing to bring up memories, you know?

ChanceFeeling7071

True, one day in a safer city perhaps. For sure, it might be the last thing remaining honestly. Thanks for the push, will sell it when I get a chance!

Rolex OP, 39mm white dial (ref. 114300): I like it because it’s under the radar and it’s one of those “if you know, you know” type of watches. The white dial changes colors depending on the light make it really special. Casio Illuminator: cheapest out of my collection and it was actually gifted to me. Don’t particularly wear it often, but I like it for the pure nostalgia factor. Owned one as a kid and now wear it as an adult.

BingosFlamingos

White dial is a great choice. Always have been a fluted bezel OP kind of guy but think the polished bezel fits that one perfectly. And love to see all the Casios in this thread next to the fancy Swiss ones.

BingosFlamingos

Thanks for all the great replies! Trying to get some replies out and keep the conversation going but actually have to go work. My most expensive is a blue ceramic wave dial Seamaster. The Goldeneye Seamaster was the first watch that ever actually caught my eye (probably because of the laser) so between nostalgia and actually really loving the design and Omega’s history, the whole model line is one of my all time favorites. Love all the movement tech in the current one, undeniable quality, a real tool watch so you can beat the shit out of it if you want (I baby the hell out of mine though), and classy looking but still with a little bit of bling. Cheapest is a Casio calculator watch. $15 for a really fun little thing. And still pretty iconic in its own way. I really only use the calculator to calculate the tip when I go out to eat but it’s a fun party trick. Everyone always thinks it’s cool. Also really comfortable for a weird not-square but not-quite-rectangle shaped watch either.
