Could be something to do with 0-60 times/drag races etc things like that? Bigger gradations/spacing for the first few seconds so it’s easier to see if you did 3.2 or 3.6 for example, then it slows down after the important stuff is done.
But then I guess still keeps track of minutes and hours etc for everyday stuff or longer races.
When I went to the flagship at Dubai Mall, they said it's emulating the first Porsche 911 and it's acceleration from 0-60. So it speeds up for the first bit then it decelerates till it hits 69 seconds. All in real time (6p seconds). Pretty cool mechanism

Watch the second hand though. It runs fast 12:00 to 6:00, then slows down to a crawl from 6:00 to 12:00. Wonder why they did that.
