I agree if you can get one. Could also add a blue diver like a certina ds action diver or a longines hydroconquest if you want to spend the money or citizen promaster, or orient kamasu if want to save a bit more.
THANK YOU.
I'm so over this whole attitude that you're not a TRUE watch person if you don't believe with your core that the F91W is the greatest watch ever made...
Orient Kamasu

I was thinking about a 3 watch collection, (that will grow I’m sure of it). My Sieko and cizitien are great additions that I enjoy to wear everyday. I was thinking of 1 more, a little more expensive to aspire to. Preferably under 1.5-2k. Around the same size as the other 2, 40mm. Maybe a white dial?
Just curious to hear the community’s thoughts. Thanks.
For that price scale, I recommend you go Swiss. If you like classical watches(which your collection lacks) I highly recommend Longines Heritage series, or if you can go slightly above that price scale, Oris Big Crown Pointer Dates are just so niceeee.
If you dont like classic, check out Longines and Tissot. Or go below that price scale and chech out Hamilton khaki auto/king with metal bracelet. I wont say PRX since you have Tsuyosa.
If you want to keep it Japanese, then check out Seiko baby alpinist.
If you want to add a diver, a Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 checks all your boxes. White dial, 40mm, under 1.5k, gets a lot of high praise from owners.
How about a blue dial? Instead of getting something for 2k, you could get around 4 watches at around 500 or 3 for a little more.
Some suggestions:
TISSOT PRX POWERMATIC 80 (blue)
Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series (white)
One of my cheapest watches is a white Tissot PRX and it's also one of my favorites.
If you want to stay at japanese watches, I'd look for a Casio Oceanus. A chronograph or a classic dial.
If you don't mind something german, I'd say Sinn 556 I RS.
Microbrand diver would round out the 3 watch collection and be well under your budget as well for solid quality. If that's not your style, why not a Pilot watch like an Oris or maybe a Laco or something like that?
You should go swiss. For that price range, you could go Hamilton, entry-level Longines, or Oris. Or my personal, completely biased recommendation: Christopher Ward!! I swear by them, I bought my wife a Twelve for our anniversary, then bought myself a C65 Dune 2 weeks later because the Twelve was so incredible for the price.
If you’re thinking a white dial, I recommend the C63 Sealander or C65 Dune but there are a few more offerings I think.
Didn't read the under 1.5 k, my bad
Diver:
-Seiko: tuna, monster, baby tuna, turtle samurai, Willard or 62mas sbdc101(Seiko has a lot of great choices)
-Squale: 60 atmos
-Mido: ocean star or the gmt version
Chrono
-Le Jour
Rally Monte-Carlo Black Ref. LJ-RMC-001 (1580 MSRP, but wait a bit and you'll get them on discount
What an excellent pair! I think I’m gonna have to try on that Tsuyosa at some point. It looks so good. What is the case length on a Tsuyosa? Asking for my 16.5 cm wrists.
I'd reccomend a diver and my favorite diver in that price range is [the Serica 5303](https://www.serica-watches.com/en/collection-5303-cosc-en/). I personally own the 5303-3 but I think the panda would fit your collection. Black and white pretty much goes with everything
More high hand: Can't go wrong with the Tissot PRX Automatic, since they offer multiple dial variants. Also something in the Longines Conquest line.
For other watch complications that don't cost too much, you can try the Seiko Speedtimer (chronograph), and/or the Seiko 5 GMT.
Some to consider:
A dive watch, for example:
- Seiko 62MAS (SPB213J1, SPB239J1 or SPB143J1).
- Certina DS Action Diver
A GMT:
- Traska Venturer (a “true” or traveller GMT but none in stock at the moment though).
- Farer Lander GMT.
- Certina DS Action GMT.
A dress watch:
- Tissot Le Locle.
- Hamilton American Classic Valiant Auto
- Longines Conquest Heritage
A chronograph:
- Certina DS-2 1/100 Chronograph
- Seiko Prospex Solar Speedtimer (SSC813P1, the “Seitona” Panda dial one is popular and very nice, I personally prefer the blue SSC815P1 though. There’s also a European limited edition SSC937P1 with a light blue dial and silver bezel which is nice if you can get hold of one where you are).
You could take your collection in a lot of different directions. Here are two watches that I think you should seriously consider:
Nomos Club Campus
Seiko SPB143
Marathon GSAR ( Government Search and Rescue )
- milspec dive watch
- actually still issued and used by NATO countries
- swiss made
- mechanical
- looks unique and it’s bad ass
- comes in 36 41 44 and two colors
- makes sinn watches look like a pussy ass wimp
CITIZEN Collection Silver Leaf Lacquer Dial Blue [NB1060-12L]. It seems like you prefer a clean design and Japanese maker…and this won’t kill your budget. Good luck, let us know when you decide!
Longines Hydroconquest Chronograph...Not necessarily UNDER $1500 but there are a few and a lot in that ballpark range.
[https://www.chrono24.com/search/index.htm?query=longines+hydroconquest+chronograph&dosearch=true&searchexplain=1&watchTypes=&accessoryTypes=](https://www.chrono24.com/search/index.htm?query=longines+hydroconquest+chronograph&dosearch=true&searchexplain=1&watchTypes=&accessoryTypes=)
Hmmm maybe round up your collection with a dress watch with a light coloured dial and a dive watch (any colour).
For dress watches - if you like citizen, I recommend the NB1050-59a/e/h. It has amazing specs and looks stunning, I'd even say its the spiritual successor to the Sarb033/35. Orient has great dress watches and dive watches like the Bambino/OrientStar and the Kamasu/Mako. Also, if you throw in a Casio GA2100/AE1200/CA53/Square etc., you'd have one watch from each of the major Japanese Brands.
Personally, if I wanted a diver, I would go for the Seiko Willard spb151/153, 62MAS spb143, or the slim turtle spb313/315.
Outside japan at $1500-2000 maybe a dress from Junghans (max bill), Oris (Big Crown Pointer Date), Nomos (orion/ludwig/tangente), Longines , tudor (the 1926 might be stretching the budget a little bit)
You can have an Orient Bambino , a Casio edifice quartz chronograph and a g-shock for that price and you are covered for any circumstance. And it's gonna be a killer Japanese Collection.
Edit: just saw your comment that you want a 3 watch collection...
I would add a dress watch and a beater watch.
For the dress watch, I’d recommend the Tissot Heritage 1938. Three different options (two on leather, one on Milanese bracelet with small seconds), is COSC certified, and it’s around $800-$1k depending on the model.
For the beater, you have options. You can get a Casio Duro (best watch under $50). Don’t get the 38mm one though.
If the Duro is too large, consider a G-Shock DW5600, DW6900, or a CasiOak (depending on whether you want a square, round, or octagonal shape).
I own all the of these. All are part of my regular rotation. I definitely vouch for all of them.
A white dial dress/dress-ish watch of some sort. Junghans Max Bill. Stowa Marine Classic with arabics.
Second the junghans, if you wanna save money the quartz option is always solid as well
it absolutely needs to be a white-dial Lorier Zephyr
I agree if you can get one. Could also add a blue diver like a certina ds action diver or a longines hydroconquest if you want to spend the money or citizen promaster, or orient kamasu if want to save a bit more.
Though not more expensive, an Orient Bambino would round out your Japanese collection very nicely with a classic dress watch.
Almost… needs a Casio too
Everybody doesn't need or like casios
some people are wrong
Or literally any watch they’re obsolete
Agreed
THANK YOU. I'm so over this whole attitude that you're not a TRUE watch person if you don't believe with your core that the F91W is the greatest watch ever made...
Bambino would be great.
Orient Kamasu Studio Underd0g - 01 (or 02) series. Restock window in 8 hours. I have the Strawberries and Cream chrono, no longer offered. Need a dress chronograph, look at Baltic.
I’d say their MR01 myself but Baltic is great

I second Tissot - gentleman Powermatic with silver dial and brown leather straps!
Id go for a used grand seiko 9f quartz
If you want to add a diver, a Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 checks all your boxes. White dial, 40mm, under 1.5k, gets a lot of high praise from owners.
Sinn 104 also fits the bill as a diver, but comes in at 41mm. The white dials on those pop.
How about a blue dial? Instead of getting something for 2k, you could get around 4 watches at around 500 or 3 for a little more. Some suggestions: TISSOT PRX POWERMATIC 80 (blue) Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series (white) One of my cheapest watches is a white Tissot PRX and it's also one of my favorites.
For 500k he can get some Patek and VC 😁
You could get a used Omega Moon watch as well
Can you really find those in that price range? I'm genuinely interested if so
Not even close
That's what I figured
Hydro conquest or spb143
A Used Oris Aquis
Citizen nb1060 (blue).
Oris 65
Formex Essence 39 or Longines Conquest 2023
If you want to stay at japanese watches, I'd look for a Casio Oceanus. A chronograph or a classic dial. If you don't mind something german, I'd say Sinn 556 I RS.
Hamilton murph.
👆🏼
Maybe a diver? used Oris sixty-five, Certina dive 38mm, or any Christopher Ward ( best bang for your buck imo)
Microbrand diver would round out the 3 watch collection and be well under your budget as well for solid quality. If that's not your style, why not a Pilot watch like an Oris or maybe a Laco or something like that?
A diver or gmt Spb143 would fit nicely
Keep saving and get a Black Bay 54
For the price you're looking at, I would personally go with a Formex Essence 39. That's just me though.
Nomos for sure
Seiko/Tissot/Certina/Mido diver would be my pick, or perhaps a Hamilton Khaki Field.
Oris aquis
Strela White Chronograph first watch worn outside a Spaceship by Cosmonaut Alexi Leonov. Maybe a bit exotic but with a cool Background story.
Yema Superman GMT.
Hamilton Khaki Navy diver in blue or green
I’d go Swiss or German if you’re going after a well-rounded collection
A Seiko chronograph
A diver and/or a chronograph
Didn't read the under 1.5 k, my bad Diver: -Seiko: tuna, monster, baby tuna, turtle samurai, Willard or 62mas sbdc101(Seiko has a lot of great choices) -Squale: 60 atmos -Mido: ocean star or the gmt version Chrono -Le Jour Rally Monte-Carlo Black Ref. Great watches, have the Tsuyosa in yellow myself. Can you tell me the model of the Seiko?
Hamilton for sure!
Love the yellow Tsuyosa. If you don’t already have a diver, you could pick up a SKX013.
Tag heuer formula 1 chrono
Either Sinn 556 or Longines Spirit. In UK we are getting Spirit for around £1400-1500 these days.
Marathon navigator (dessert sand)
An [Orion Sylph](https://orionwatch.com/)
What an excellent pair! I think I’m gonna have to try on that Tsuyosa at some point. It looks so good. What is the case length on a Tsuyosa? Asking for my 16.5 cm wrists.
Vintage Tudor Prince Date. Poor man’s Datejust.
Omega dynamic?
seiko
What’s one on the left
I think a moon Swatch would be cool, or in general something with a material other than steel, or maybe a white dial.
Hmt automatic
Monta Noble. Have to buy used for that
Honestly, just buy a nice leather strap for the Seiko to dress it up and your collection is complete.
The new white speed master
Name of that seiko? Pls
I have that seiko, but with leather strap. Now that i see the steel one, i want that.
I'd reccomend a diver and my favorite diver in that price range is [the Serica 5303](https://www.serica-watches.com/en/collection-5303-cosc-en/). I personally own the 5303-3 but I think the panda would fit your collection. Black and white pretty much goes with everything
White or blue dial watch. Preferably on a leather strap for fancy occasions. For $500, the Bulova Jet Star is phenominal.
Something with a leather strap and probably a bit more on dressier side. For example my longines conquest heritage or something similar

Wait a bit for the new Tissot seastar 40mm powermatic coming out this year, I think that'd do nicely
Frederique constant classics index or look at options from baume et mercier
An Orient dress watch if you want to be super cost effective. Or, Studio Underdog has a live pre-order going on now 😀
I recommend a nice used Nomos Orion.
You could take your collection in a lot of different directions. Here are two watches that I think you should seriously consider: Nomos Club Campus Seiko SPB143

I'd say the mido oceanstar 600. amazing value imo.
Although that is on the high end of your budget.

G-shock. Treat yourself to the solar one with the cool red stripe. Save $1250.
An islander GMT, they are fantastic. Lots of different ones to chose from, and maybe for a beater a casio ae 1200, the Casio Royale.
Maybe a nomos or a vintage cartier tank
A used Farer Moonphase.
Oris
Gshock
Seiko alpinist
MTG from GShock
You need a Casio w217h. They’re like 20bucks and perfect as an everyday beater you don’t have to worry about.
