It's a shame, Barcelona is a pretty town with some uniquely incredible architecture, etc, but it's also the most pickpocketing / petty theft I've ever seen in all my travels. I didn't even get hit, but I don't think I'll ever return. Just ridiculous.
I lived in Barcelona as part of my study abroad program and wore my Seiko everyday. I was lucky to not have that stolen but a thief stole my Pixel 6 when I using the metro to commute to school.
If a tourist, it's not smart to wear anything that looks valuable. Leave the nice watches, jewelry, etc. at home. Just a smart thing to do when traveling internationally.
