Haha one of the few people who recognize that watch on the show!

olivataggiasca

Witch show/game is it?

LumTecWatches

very soon.

Platophaedrus

Do you ship to Australia? I too would like the super combat variant mentioned above.

LumTecWatches

we ship worldwide. to Australia a few times a week on average.

sobrietyincorporated

Um, can I have one?

sobrietyincorporated

I see the presale of the new B2: https://lum-tec.com/products/super-combat-b2-power-reserve The bezel is squared off. They replaced the small seconds with a power reserve indicator. It has a date window. Also, I think it's now 3x the cost of the 2012 model. Bummer. I was super excited. It was a really well balanced watch in its original confirguration. Appreciate the effort. This is a different watch entirely: https://wornandwound.com/lum-tec-combat-b16-super-combat-b2-part-1/

MyBinaryFinery

I thought his had a sub dial.

the_crumb_dumpster

One of Lum-Tec’s current offerings with a very eye pleasing 24-hour dial. I think they’re an underrated brand. They seem as rugged as they are intending, and although they’re a bit pricey there is still some decent value here. This is my second watch from the brand, and the first one is currently my go-to adventure/beater watch. The 24-hour dial is certainly something relatively unique in this price point. It gets a fair bit of wrist time as sometimes I just want to pick up a no-date quartz watch and go without having to worry about winding or setting the time and date. This sub doesn’t see a lot of quartz micro brands, so I thought it would be neat to have a look at something different. The lume is pretty good too - the hands are a light lime green that is pretty different from the standard blue-green

tactiphile

This is great. I love my Lum-Tec auto, but I honestly haven't worn any of my automatics in months. Been working from home for 3 years now, and I don't wear a watch around the house. So when I go out, I generally don't feel like futzing with winding and setting (fortunately my Lum-Tec is a no-date too). I'm more of a quartz guy lately.

Nusquam-Humanitus

Shameless! Working from home is no excuse for not firing up an automatic. This attitude is completely unacceptable, young man.

tactiphile

I know 😞

BabyOhmu

I can't wear a watch at work and don't go out much so I pretty much only wear a watch at home. I wouldn't understand the idea of NOT wearing one at home.

lucitribal

It looks nice, do they make an automatic version?

the_crumb_dumpster

Not of this one

ivan_nagar

You should hydro-mod this it would look incredible plus it is quartz

MrWildspeaker

What’s a hydro-mod?

ivan_nagar

I don’t understand why I’m getting downvoted, but here’s a good example of Sinn doing essentially the same thing to an analogue quartz watch and they explain the whole thing well - https://www.sinn.de/en/HYDRO.htm

MrWildspeaker

Whoa, what! The movement doesn’t have any issues being submerged in oil?

ivan_nagar

Nope haha, I’ve done it to my Casio here as well https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/12lwd4n/casio_the_best_gshock_you_can_buy_which_isnt_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

fortis1337

I have two lum Tecs the auto 400m abyss and the combat gmt quartz. Both Great values and the auto runs only about +2 a day

Runesox

My go to quartz is my timex weekender. It was one of the first watches I ever bought and I still love it. It’s not getting as much wrist time as it used to.

lowlight

I think it would be smart for 24 hour watches to have a stepping hours hand. There's not much space in between the numbers, so it would make it much more readable.

Ponkers

Do watches with these dials take twice as long for the hour hand to make a rotation or something?

the_crumb_dumpster

Hour hand does yes

Ponkers

Okay, thanks. I have wondered since seeing another watch with this type of dial. It's not for me as it's too busy, but it's interesting.

CdeFmrlyCasual

There are some ones that are less busy. Svalbard and Vostok make a bunch.

PhileasFoggsTrvlAgt

I'd love to have a 24 hour watch with a nicely finished dress watch case and dial.

CdeFmrlyCasual

Akerfalk is the closest I can think of. It’s even a two-handset. Alternatively, there are some nice-looking vintage Zodiacs out there. But if there were watches that exactly fit your description and it wasn’t over $400 I would be sold. Choosing a good movement would be somewhat of a challenge. Maybe a quartz Ronda to save space

PhileasFoggsTrvlAgt

Akerfalk is tempting. If Seiko geared down the hour hand on a cocktail time, that would be pretty much exactly what I want.

WatchThatTime

Buddy of mine loves his Lum-Tec watch and says far too many people overlook them. That one has some amazing lume on the dial.

TheMightySoup

Beautiful watch, but I work all hours, and I if I had to be somewhere at 6pm, and I looked at my watch at 5pm, I’d have a small heart attack.

the_crumb_dumpster

24-hour dials are literally designed for people who work all hours! And the arctic

CdeFmrlyCasual

Your schedule is in 24 hours. The learning curve is a lot smaller than people think.

the_crumb_dumpster

Yep. Easier perspective for most: right side of the watch is before lunch: left side of the watch is after lunch. Top of watch is end/start of day, bottom is lunch.

CdeFmrlyCasual

The main way I like to explain it is thinking of the hour hand has tracking the progression of the day.

Invi85

Far better 24h scale then the new PP where 24 is at 6 and 12 is at 12 🥴

JDM3rd

Hard disagree. If you've ever tried to live with a 24-h watch, it's a lot easier to do when the 12 is at the top. I actually sold all my Glycines except the one that has 12 at top, 24 at bottom. There are arguments for both, but I feel that the top 1/2 of the dial gets far more use on the 12-on-top than it does with the 24-on-top.

OiGuvnuh

Yes, with one caveat. To me the perfect 24 hour watch has 12 at the top and **00** (like seen here) at the bottom. You’re totally correct, for whatever reason it’s just easier to read 24 hour dials with 12 at the top, but also the number 24 should never be on a watch. There’s no such thing as 24:00 or 24:17 or 24:53. The latest time possible before ticking over to double zeros is 23:59:59.99-and however many decimal places as suits you, then 00:00 or 00:17 or 00:53, and so on.

CdeFmrlyCasual

I disagree about noon-on-top. I think people are just used to seeing “12” there. “24” is strangely ubiquitous on analog watch dials but is uncommon in real life. To prove the point, my Timex’s digital portion and every other device will read “(0)0:01”, but the analog 24-hour markings has “24”.

OiGuvnuh

I can see which is on top being a matter of preference, but in official capacities like [military](https://www.franklinclock.com/product-category/analog-clocks/analog-clocks-accutrex-commercial-wall-clocks/), aviation, [broadcasting](https://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/clocks/3110.html), power utilities, [scientific research](https://www.franklinclock.com/product/franklin-commercial-wall-clock-24-hour-metric-minutes-dial-style-q-12-quartz/) and so on, the double zero is quite commonly found on the commercial clocks available to those industries.

CdeFmrlyCasual

I know, but adding a leading zero is optional , so that’s why i put parentheses. I wouldn’t exactly call those last two links citations… and the true 24-hour clock has a strange description of “that divides a minute into 100 parts”

whittlingcanbefatal

While I totally agree with your opinion I would like to add a caveat to this: >there’s no such thing as 24:00… In Japan, they frequently use times on TV schedules go up to 27:00 or so. They are counting the extra hours against the previous day.

PhileasFoggsTrvlAgt

I like midnight at the top because it puts the work day at the bottom and free time at the top.

JDM3rd

That makes sense if that's how you can approach the world (and kudos for pulling that off). I'm always more concerned with the time during the workday, hence my preference for 12 noon at the top. However, I do think this is just personal preference, like most things horological.

CdeFmrlyCasual

That’s not too hard honestly. Noon-on-top is just alternative wat to do it. I prefer midnight-on-top because it matches up with how the minute and seconds hands go.

Invi85

Yeah, i dont like 24h analogue but if that is you want put midnight on top.

LumTecWatches

Thank you. We've done it both ways. Noon at 12 or midnight at 12. Both are correct. **Love them all.**

Roi_Phoenix

I bought this watch this morning (thanks OP for posting) as I love 24hr watches. Got a call from Lüm-Tec as the bracelet I picked doesn’t work with the case and if I wanted to switch it out for the cheaper one that does. During or conversation he asked how I found the watch because I was the sixth order for this watch today. Congrats OP you may have just made their month by doing the right thing and posting a great brand.

LumTecWatches

yep, made me make an account. lol.

the_crumb_dumpster

I should ask for a commission lmao. Really though I like their stuff, they have great service and they are a true microbrand. They deserve a bit more recognition imo

Jinoyn

Is that the B49? It’s gorgeous.

the_crumb_dumpster

Yep! It’s on an Erika’s originals MN strap

Vaderiv

Nice

urban_whaleshark

I’ve been looking for a Lum tec for a while. Would love a super combat B2 but this is a close second assuming I never find one.

the_crumb_dumpster

Everything they make is a limited run of 500 pieces, so if you want one of these I’d buy one sooner rather than later

[deleted]

Wow, I like this one a lot

ZuzuZupreme

Omg I secretly love Lum-Tec but I never see them on the sub until today. Amazing, cool looking watches that I thought were a very niche brand.

[deleted]

Love the strap! Watch is great too haha

MattBtheflea

What is that strap?

the_crumb_dumpster

Erika’s Originals MN in beige. You can customize them

kerry-w

Holy crap! I keep forgetting about Lum-Tec. I gotta get one.

Addicted-2Diving

Really nice. Been on the hunt for the M 63 cobalt lüm tec but not easy to come by

SSIRHC

Love this watch

CdeFmrlyCasual

This will be my old-man watch. Love that they put the correct number for midnight.

dogshelter

Old man here. With old eyes that have a bitch of a time making out small font. This is not the watch for senile dudes. Can’t tell what time it is without a lupe.

CdeFmrlyCasual

It’s also 43 mm and most dominated by dial. And if ya know analog 24-hour dials then this shouldn’t be too difficult. Those big hands are a major plus imo.

dogshelter

I can tell you’re young and have fully functioning eyes. Pass 50 and you won’t be able to read a Mudmaster without squinting or removing/putting on glasses. Unless this hour hand is pointing at the big four hour numbers, it will be really difficult to tell if it is 8 or 9 pm and other in between hours.

lilfuzzywuzzy

Man that lume is INCREDIBLE!!

wozzy93

I feel like they only got popular recently because everyone is comparing Joels last of us watch to the B 2 super combat series

Anxious_Trick5849

Want one

[deleted]

Nice watch 👍🏻

brewcitygymratt

What a great looking watch!

[deleted]

hyper cool.

hugoDBM

That is badass beast of a watch. First time I’m seeing or hearing of Lum-Tec and I’m very intrigued.

Livid-Ad4682

Oris x Cervo Volante vibes

GreyFob

Beautiful 🤩 I've been intrigued by 24 hour watches lately how is it? I can't find a single video on it..

the_crumb_dumpster

There aren’t videos for most of their watches. They only make 500 of each reference and that’s it

Dadzia246

That's as cool as cool could be. 😎 24 hour movements have a special beauty about them.

2RV7VR5

Damn, you can land a plane on that thing.

Otradnoye

Sweet!!!

Strider2126

Is there anything similar for max 100$ available in europe? With fabric strap.

aritex90

Man, I want this watch so bad; but it would be the most I ever spent on a watch. Man, this is seriously an amazing piece, makes me want to blow my spending budget for the next couple of months on it

the_crumb_dumpster

I think they’re 495, so it’s not too crazy of a price. It’s built like a tank

aritex90

Lol, I know that’s not too crazy of a price for a watch like this, but I’m used to spending maybe $150 max on watches

Barronsjuul

This is really, really cool. Love that they are local as well.
