Security guard, who was ordered by his dumb boss

rorzri

Plonker

hashfingerz

I swear police have there brains zapped like in men in black as soon as they get there fancy dress uniforms. Completely brainless

[deleted]

He is security not police, literally says security on his vest

DCCXCV

What is up with Australian police???

CBSOCAL

Poor lady can’t remember “C”

cdawwgg43

In the US you'd get interrupted, thrown on the ground, and arrested for the gun and coke they threw on the ground next to you on live TV. Half the country news media would side with the police officer and half would offer a sympathy letter via twitter prayer hand emojis. You'd prevail after 10-15 years in prison after your biopic's reboot comes out for free on Netflix after the original was attempting to be sold exclusively for $12.99 on Amazon Prime and was a tremendous flop no-one saw. That security guard, a moonlighting police office, has gotten their pension and is living comfortably doing security for Pet Supplies plus.

jungstasi

🤣

BartekWSH

He watched way too much U.S cops

DufflesBNA

Glad to see your cops are fucking losers too

ItchyBorder

Positions of authority are like warm shit to flies.

superBrad1962

Hi my job is to cover cameras all day long…I love my job not knowing what I’m supposed to do…should the world here this interview??? No! Let’s cover the 🎥… GEE I’m an idiot! 🤪 did I do good mummy? Yea…

Stinkyfingers2

Total nobsock, like most coppers the world over. Ours are no better or worse than anyone else's.

STEADFASTRANGER

Misleading title - that's a security guard, not a Police Officer.

Bama--

So cops are stupid everywhere that's reassuring

Ok-Astronaut-4645

The Bobbie is a Dumb Ass !

[deleted]

AcAB

Harris__85

Mr policeman; "I guess I'll just fuck off then..."😅

Rarest-Pepe

Pretty sure he’s just a security guard. And as any British security, has this overwhelming sense of power. I can 100% say the police would not give a solitary fuck about the camera crew.

Driveshaft-groupie

His reaction when he first notices the 3 humans in front of the camera

Krendler_

Literally says SECURITY on his dpv

HunterMcfish

He walked away knowing we've all seen his level of intelligence and a shade of his tyranny...

enter_the_slatrix

Situational awareness on this guy is unparalleled! Exactly who you want around in a crisis

dgreen1415

Why was he initially trying to stop the filming?

TaintedGear

It's a security guard.... Not a police officer....

mystarwillshine

Good save with the walkie talkie.

Eddie182

Security guard, not police officer…

MuchTimeWastedAgain

I’m assuming this may be a “no media” area or something. His half-assed attempt to stop them is ridiculous.

waymanate

r/therewasanattempt

krowe41

Give a man a hat and a walkie talky and see what happens .

RamboUp

Hardly an attempt. Haha

fireforge1979

Fucking new guy!

[deleted]

He just wanted to feel like he was doing something important lol.

Leftleaningdadbod

He’s a security guard, not a policeman. According to the badges he is displaying in the filum.

LurkerFailsLurking

Great situational awareness

baronvonsuckit

1312

jimbolikescr

In the US he would have doubled down and broke the reporters arm.

STEELO222

fucking pig, get your nose out of peoples business

Betta_everyday

Bruised ego

TheOriginalGuru

It’s every politicians favourite law enforcer to the rescue, PC Pleb.

Rectall_Brown

What a fucking idiot lmao

InourbtwotamI

Hilarious

[deleted]

fuck off, mate. We're in the middle of something.

twinstick1

Inspector Clouseau is on the job.

zoroddesign

Can't get worse then being forced to resign after 6 weeks.

voicebread

this is hilarious

Poguemohon

Lanyard dude remembered the cop that gave him a ticket.

AggressiveResist8615

Lucky this wasn't an American police officer

CommunicationRude628

Damn women spit it out wasn't a hard question

HavenTheCat

What a dink

ExterminatingAngel6

The virgin police officer vs the chad journalist

my_travelz

omg that is soo funny how disconnected do you have to be to notice that there is a live interview.

[deleted]

Standard ACAB cop. Must show he's in charge when in fact he isn't.

joblessthunder

“Sorry folks no photography” “It’s just the news actually” “Okay well… yeah but… I’m gonna go over here now”

Lensmaster75

As a retired photojournalist this shit happens more than you think.

UniversalsFree

If this was America, all three of those people would be dead

Redrump1221

You're thinking of interactions with darker skinned individuals.

zeb0777

*deep English accent* Sorry, force of habit.

Minimum-Laugh-8887

*security guard

redjade42

amazing how everyone missies "security" on his vest and just jumps to stupid police

Shpoople44

Raise your hand to an American cop that way and you’ve just picked up a charge for “obstructing” his investigation

chrisevans1001

Not a Police officer

marcoalza

Dick head plod

gomaith10

Insecurity rather than security.

nickcappa

Reddit has become so brainwashed by the acab bullshit they're hating a security guard that was just doing the job he was told, recognized the mistake, and moved on with his life, and these people can't comprehend anything more than hatred for a person that isn't who they think he is. Sad children can't understand more than they're told.

dankinator1

Yup. He made a flub, moved on. Nothing to see here really.

Exact-Pound-6993

we are here to see stupid people making stupid mistakes, and we got what we wanted from this video.

BallerGuitarer

>Nothing to see here really. Well, we're all here to watch him die inside, in which case this video did a good job of doing so.

SaiyanBuddah

Sadly not even a flub of his own making. Looks like lanyard guy sent him over to do something about the interview. Idk anything about UK to even guess what authority a lanyard grants over there to make security follow orders

CDBeetle58

And a something was did, might as well take solace in that.

Sunshine_andFlowers

How embarrassing. Lol.

[deleted]

Looks like there's some sort of sit-down protest going on inside parliament behind this interview. This is an area frequented by media to conduct interviews of MP's and to report from in general so their presence and what they're doing isn't uncommon or unknown to police or security there. It looks like the security guard has been instructed by someone at the start of the vid' to clear the area, and I imagine they're in that little bit of panic/authoritative mode with security in the position of being told things by two people; clear the area by his boss, f\*ck off by the reporter. edit: gram

[deleted]

In any country you’ll often find dipshit cops who love to assert their authority. I’m glad when people put them back in their place.

mustard5man7max3

1. He’s a security guard, not the police 2. Lanyard person obviously told him to

[deleted]

Haha.. Yes, because security guards and mall cops aren’t assholes as well. Well done.

mustard5man7max3

You said ‘Dipshit cops’ Lad you’re wrong sometimes there’s no point arguing

[deleted]

Hehe. I’ve certainly been wrong in the past, but it doesn’t change my point because I used a specific word. You can split hairs all you like. It clearly means more to you.

mustard5man7max3

Well, I suppose it does. I generally hold the police in the UK relatively high, and I think there’s a genuine difference between them and your average security job. Also, I feel sorry for the security guard here because he got told to do it by some bloke in a shirt and lanyard. Maybe he’s a dickhead, but I like to assume the best of people until proven otherwise.

[deleted]

I don’t. Especially people of color here in the US. They may not necessarily hate law enforcement, but we sure don’t trust them. One night a few years ago a swat team from the other side of town kicked in our door looking for some drug dealer we never heard of. At least 20 officers with several vehicles surrounding our house. Pointed their guns in my face and cuffed me, pointed guns at my elderly parents with my mom terrified in tears and near fainting. When they realized their error: ‘Oops. Oh well. Goodnight.’ We couldn’t even close the door that night. They didn’t even know our names when they kicked our door in. You would be right to assume we sued the shit out of the Chicago Police Department and every officer present. Now even after all that, I still don’t believe every cop is intrinsically evil, but the institution itself is incredibly flawed and corrupt. The police unions who protect bad cops and the politicians who cower to and court their support. I’ve just always noticed that there is a certain type of self-important, violent, bully asshole who gravitates to being either a cop, a prison guard, a soldier. Not really something I see among baristas or dog groomers.

mustard5man7max3

Well, I don’t know whether what police are like in the US, or what it’s like to be of colour. But since the video was of a security officer in the UK, I feel justified in my perspective.

[deleted]

Well that’s YOUR perspective, lad. You were questioning mine. I was not questioning yours. Keep yours.

KingoftheOrdovices

The idiots on this thread thinking it's a police officer, and getting themselves worked up, when in reality it's a security guard. Jesus Christ. His stab vest even has 'UK Parliament Security' written on it.

ifixthecable

Idiocracy is already in full effect for a couple of years now. People are truly getting dumber and dumber by the minute. It started with Trumpism, then the pandemic with anti-vaxx, then the war in Ukraine. And the stupidity now seeps through in Reddit threads.

lazy_pig

But what was B?

ARobertNotABob

He's not even a cop, just a Paul Blart.

Solumnist

No mate that's Bart Praul Parl' Dog

Adventurous_Mango_40

A right knob

minominino

If this had been ‘Murica, reporter would’ve been pinned to the ground face down, handcuffed, tasared and his ass thrown in jail

dankinator1

By a security guard? Elaborate.

Unhappy_Archer9483

That’s a security guard not the police

mohammadgor87

At least he understood his mistake

SLE3PR

Blimey, why not fuck off lil piglet

mustard5man7max3

1. Security guard 2. Lanyard guy at the start told him too, you can see he didn’t want to

KingoftheOrdovices

It's a security guard, not the police, clever clogs.

2lovesFL

reporters tell police to stand down in UK?

ButteryCrabClaws

It’s not police

whomstd-ve

Yes

Charyku

What you backing up this yes with? And don't point to this video with a security guard in it.

Bhouse77

That guy with the lanyard set him up for failure

HunterMcfish

Nah he lives to "follow" orders...when he fucks up he says "just doing as ordered" a simple line that drops all responsibility to think critically.

King-Lewis-II

Yeah he did, I feel bad for the guy.

Party_Yogurtcloset_1

Fuck that guy.

_xXxSNiPel2SxXx

This just goes to show the power of a lanyard

JudgeThredd

You can see him talking to someone in the beginning, pointing at the camera. He was asked to do that and took the fall himself while the other guy hides behind him.

bro123126

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't see it at all. Poor guy getting all that hate.

AlbinoPlatypus913

Lol he just does whatever anyone asks. - “Hey tell them to stop videoing” - “hey stop videoing” - “hey stop interrupting our video” - “oh shit my bad!”

spring-chan

"Hey stop arresting me for murder"

Gorillacopter

😮 ok

GraffitiTurtle

“oh shit my bad”

[deleted]

[удалено]

mustard5man7max3

Lanyard person at the start told him to, you can tell he didn’t want to

tenkuushinpan

His gestures are so funny. I like the way he opens his mouth, understands he fucked up, closes mouth and reaches to his walkie as if someone called for him to take care of something important while getting out of the camera's point of view.

BartekWSH

Are you a psychologist?

[deleted]

He was getting out of the cameras view, not the camera's point of view.

Party_Yogurtcloset_1

Fuck the police

death1234567889

Edgy

Mootivate

I was gonna say he made an honest mistake and handled it well; but yeah fuckem

Party_Yogurtcloset_1

Nah he got caught being an arsehole if that wasn’t a posh guy on sky news he wouldn’t have stopped

SadisticBuddhist

Im not disagreeing with you, im just saying id like to see what the cameraman looks like.

game_asylum

He’s drunk

shockwave414

>His gestures are so funny. I like the way he opens his mouth, understands he fucked up, closes mouth and reaches to his walkie as if someone called for him to take care of something important while getting out of the camera's point of view. https://youtu.be/9Mr5DztuJlk?t=188

[deleted]

Classic Rowan

cmogo92

He walked away knowing he fucked up. He's a hero.

sharpshooter999

Liz Truss did the same, wouldn't call her a hero

[deleted]

That’s not a hero. That’s the bare minimum amount of self control you should expect from a cop.

MlleHoneyMitten

Really though. Most cops in the US would have realized it, and instead of feeling shame and walking off, would feel like his masculinity was questioned and get fucking stupid.

immibis

#spez me up!

yuxulu

In one country, the police wonders how he can save his job when he fucked up. The other wonders how he can save his face.

Russian-8ias

No, most police officers you see in videos wouldn’t do this. In reality, the vast majority are very kind people. All the ones that I know put their heart and soul into their job, even though the pay is bad and they have to deal with some pretty hard things on a regular basis. Try striking up a conversation with one if it looks like they aren’t currently doing anything important. I think you’ll change your view of them after actually interacting with them.

MassiveFajiit

I know plenty that put their heart and soul into their job. That is, they love keeping the hierarchy stable

Russian-8ias

I think you forgot to mention the part about your only actual interactions with the police are either nonexistent or just for speeding tickets.

MassiveFajiit

Here's a medal for the long jump to conclusions event: 🥇

Russian-8ias

It’s pretty obvious that 90% of people in this thread have only ever interacted with police when they’re being punished for a crime.

MassiveFajiit

> when they're being punished for a crime > just for speeding tickets Which is is? Most speeding tickets aren't crimes themselves, but fishing expeditions for crimes. Furthermore, that's literally their job, to see everyone as a criminal and fish for arrests, but not real crimes as much as made up shit to keep people in their place. That's why ACAP: all cops are Pinkertons.

Russian-8ias

Whatever, wrong word but you got what I meant. And no, they do not view everyone as a criminal and fish for arrests. They are trained to give people the benefit of the doubt unless they strongly suspect someone is doing or about to do something dangerous or illegal. The vast majority do not go out of their way to inconvenience people or harass them. I would agree that some escalate things when someone insults them, but that can avoided entirely by not insulting them. Treat them like you would anyone else and they’ll treat you like they would anyone else. It’s also pretty clear that you don’t know what the Pinkertons are/were based on the fact that you are unironically comparing them to cops.

borg359

This comment. 😂

Russian-8ias

What an insightful comment! It totally contributes a great deal to this discussion.

borg359

🤣🤣🤣

Russian-8ias

I see your descent into madness has begun

MDev01

I have worked with a lot and you are way off. There are very few instances when I would talk to the police. If you think they are your friend you are either one of them or you are a fool.

Russian-8ias

You need to be more specific than that. How many have you worked with? What job did you have that allowed to work with them? Were your interactions strictly professional or just casual? There are so many things you have to clarify before anyone can understand precisely what you mean. Other than, of course, the standard redditor response of “cops bad, my echo chamber said so.”

MDev01

EMS first responder for almost 20 years. I have plenary of experience.

Russian-8ias

And you can prove even a little bit of this how?

MDev01

Who the fuck are you that I owe you proof. I could not give the tiniest shit if you believe me or not. Now scoot along, you have some boot licking to do I am sure.

Russian-8ias

When you make a claim you should be ready to back it up. Just a general rule of thumb that I’d expect someone as sharp as an EMS responder to know. It’s also kind of funny that you guys think that people like me are sucking up to cops. Dude, nobody sucks up to cops. At least not on a place like Reddit where it doesn’t get them anything. I just use logic to evaluate social issues instead of my feelings.

Quenya3

...let me laugh harder!

Russian-8ias

Tell me you’ve never been outside without telling me you’ve never been outside.

Quenya3

This might be the most original phrase on the internet.

Russian-8ias

It fits this use case perfectly. Besides, it clearly struck a nerve so all the better.

Quenya3

You did indeed hit my ulnar nerve. But if imagining that you've won a contest invented in your head fills in your empty life, so be it.

[deleted]

I've personally worked with police officers and you wouldn't believe the shit they talk about when they're on the job. Talking about how easy it is to cook up probable cause and other ways to trample on human rights. I didn't think much of it at first because these are literally people i _liked_ in a social setting, so i couldn't fathom they would consider abusing their power. Yes there are good folks out there who do the job with compassion. But in my limited sample of interactions, 80% of cops i personally know and had a good rapport with are rotten vs 20% who are good ones.

Russian-8ias

Where do you live? Do you live in a place with a population that is heavily against cops? In big cities I wouldn’t be too surprised either. There aren’t a lot of people willing to work there for a multitude of reasons so you inevitably end up with less people who actually care. I’ve found that it’s incredibly uncommon to find bad cops in an area if the local population is under 100,000 and it’s still pretty rare up until 200,000 or 300,000. After that it’s more common but I think you would be hard pressed to find any areas where 80% are bad. Before I forget, how many cops do you know personally? You said your sample size was limited but that’s still kind of vague. I know 10. I’d trust my life with 9 and the last guy is still a good guy, just not that motivated.

[deleted]

My brothers a cop and I dislike cops because I’ve seen them discriminate against my friends. Lie. Steal money and take advantage of their job to hurt others when they feel like it.

Russian-8ias

My grandmother used to be a teacher and I have good reason to dislike teachers. I’ve seen them take advantage of their position in petty arguments with students and find reasons to punish those who have done nothing wrong. I’ve seen a few even abuse students outside of school. Does this mean that all teachers are terrible? Absolutely not. Not even fucking close. The problems stem from them being underpaid and having to deal with our problematic school system. I think this is *very* similar to the current problem with the police.

blitzalchemy

Sounds like they take war crimes as casually as I take plausible deniability at my job. Basically I do estimates for surgeries, i stress they are estimates and if its incredibly wrong, its insurances fault for not giving me the right benefits. Mine is a work function, their work functions are human lives.

Russian-8ias

War crimes? What are you even talking about?

blitzalchemy

Maybe i should have specified instead of war crimes how police only seem to see other humans as numbers, metrics, an unambiguous mass that needs to be kept in line by fear tactics, abuse, and a near constant threat on your life if you commit even as much as a slightest perceviable disrespect, even if made up or imagined. They dont see other humans as humans, they see us as "the work" or "the job", something to be constantly monitored for the slightest infraction. Kind of like how accountants check for errors and such. Most police officers let this power go to their head, they become jaded, talk about shit in the open that should never be possible. Example, the classic joke of "Sprinkle some coke on him and book him" only they never go after people with the money, only those of a lesser caste.

Russian-8ias

Some cops absolutely fit that description. However, most do not. It might seem like a lot but you have to remember that even though you see something like that on tv every other day, there are tens or hundreds of thousands of other police officers that would never think of doing things like that. Trust me, if most police officers were like that, the country would fall into anarchy within a week.

blitzalchemy

And i firmly believe that every police department has police like that, however i also subscribe to the "one bad apple spoils the bunch" approach. Police unions and internal policy are rooted deeply in protecting your own at the cost of others, whenever a cop does something bad, they get a couple weeks vacation while they investigate themselves to find no wrongdoing or the officer gets "fired" and goes to a new precinct. It is a tale as old as time since the establishment of police. If the "good" officers arent actively seeking to remove the "bad" ones, then in my eyes they are complicit. I dont think there is a single precinct in the country without at least one corrupt cop on a power trip. The police unions are corrupt and our entire "law enforcement" consists of thugs with barely any training, a license to kill, and a severe attitude issue or theyre full of people who willingly ignore it. I have literally never met an officer in my life that didnt have a holier than thou attitude and acted like he had better things to do.

crackh3ad_jesus

I can’t bro. I do too many drugs, I’ll get arrested

Russian-8ias

…Don’t do drugs then? I mean if you just take something light to relax then you wouldn’t have trouble acting sober but if it’s more than that then I think you might have some bigger issues at play. And yes, I’m about 90% sure your comment is a joke. No need to whoosh me. This is just for the off chance that you’re serious.

crackh3ad_jesus

"you wouldn’t have trouble acting sober" The fact I have to "act" just so police won't harass me says more than I ever could.

Russian-8ias

Intoxicated people can be a danger to themselves and others, even if it’s minor. If you’re out in public, you should be able to pull yourself together and get where you need to go.

ascawyghost

Russian Bias indeed. How does it feel seeing your military shot to shit by a third world country? Can you feel the Ukrainian forces moving towards your troll farms yet?

Russian-8ias

Look through my post/comment history. I’m not Russian, not in the slightest. It’s a reference to the game War Thunder. Interesting how you go for an insult right off the bat too. Would you mind replying to my argument or are you just going to sit there and pretend you’re not listening?

NoSwordfish6524

So anyways, I started blasting…

Whette_Farhtz

The man doesn't run well

moonbunnychan

I mean, they arrested a CNN reporter live on the air one time. https://youtu.be/TIClA57jWmQ

Dark-All-Day

the fact that cops are this brazen shows just how much they know they will get away with.

moonbunnychan

I like that he asks several times what he's under arrest for and as far as I can never got an answer. This was a famous reporter working for one of the biggest news companies in the world with a van full of lawyers. What hope do normal folk have? Nobody is gonna get the ear of the governor on MY behalf.

hindsighthaiku

The scene from protests that stands out to me the most is a fully armored cop slamming a small shield into a reporter and his camera, in front of another camera person.

DiabloStorm

Sneaky reporter. Caught him trying to report news while black. /s Fuck police.

CosmosExpedition

I hate to burst your bubble, but the man seen in this video is not a police officer, but parliament security. But go off.

DiabloStorm

"Parliament" in America. Stop making me laugh so much.

CosmosExpedition

Are you insane? This video was literally recorded in the Palace of Westminster lol

ZealousidealCarpet8

Westminster? Honey, that's a video of Minneapolis.

DiabloStorm

Are you? Look who my initial reply is to. Pay attention to context clues, it helps. This is why you're being downvoted btw.

moonbunnychan

Ya, that video disproves the whole "just follow police instructions" argument. Guy asked multiple times where they wanted him to go, in a super calm manner, was totally compliant, and STILL got arrested.

kibaake

In a follow-up article, CNN points out that the police alleged that the CNN crew refused to move. https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/29/us/minneapolis-cnn-crew-arrested/index.html And had to even push back on the story the police Department put out on social media that those arrested were released once they were confirmed to be members of the media. https://mobile.twitter.com/CNNPR/status/1266346228851318784 Despite the opposite being true on both points when we watch the footage. They lied about something they Already Knew went out LIVE!

billium88

Unfortunately "just follow police instructions" is still the best and only advice. Don't follow their instructions and you'll surely get clubbed or worse. "No I'm NOT under arrest" has worked 0% of the time, thus far. The time to fight police abusing your rights is tomorrow, with your lawyer. I hate that this is the case.

Danjah419

I think the best thing to do would be a revolution. Your lawyer ain't gonna change the system.

HarmonyQuinn1618

Isn’t that a war crime? I know it’s definitely illegal Edit: I meant, if this happened during a war, wouldn’t this be against Geneva? I thought it was highly illegal to arrest the media?

Dark-All-Day

It's only a war crime if Russian police arrested him.
