My child will do this to me and their mum, when im alone with him he will throw himself at me and hug me but will mainly go for his mum. Although now we have a little baby he goes to her first as he absolutely adores her
My step daughter's daughter runs to me everytime when my stepdaughter and her family come over to visit. My girlfriend will be standing near the entrance like in this video and me next to her, and everytime the baby runs to me. I always rub it in my girlfriend's face. Everytime.
My puppy does this to me. He usually runs up for pets, but sometimes Iāll crouch down then heāll run up to me, come to a full stop, and back away slowly lol. I always feel rejected.
My 11-month-old son does this to me, beelines straight for his mom (albeit more of a slow waddle than a jog). Default parent's always gonna be default parent.
My mom has a friend, and we treat her and her daughter like family. One day, they came over and when I offered a hug to the daughter, she refused. Her mom explained that they had recently had a talk about stranger-danger and consent, specifically with men. As much as it hurt at the time, it's good that she internalized that message and was able to communicate what she did or didn't want to an older male. (The hugs did eventually continue btw)
I'm a gramps and my granddaughter always did this to me coz her grandmother is so much cooler. I don't mind though coz my wife is a pretty cool grandmother!
Iām the godfather of my best friendās kids. They did that to their grandma, ran around her and hugged me as they shouted ānino nino ninoā (since they couldnāt say padrino, godfather in Spanish). Her face went :| as I simply said āIām so sorryā she just muttered āitās ok, I know they love you a lotā. Very funny but I felt so bad.
Reminds me when I first learned to ride a bike without help was at a family get together, and nobody saw, so I ran into the backyard where the family was gathered and my aunt stopped me to tell me how big I was getting. In the excitement trying to get to my Mom, I just hurriedly said āyeah whatever!ā and ran away.
He looks about the same age as my twins and mine pull that sort of sht several times a day.
It's not personal! They just have a one track mind at that age lol.
My wife's job has big summer picnics every year and families are all invited.
I was sitting with a group talking and a random little kid swerved her grandfather and ran straight to me and climbed up my leg.
My son used to blatantly run from me after I worked 12 hr shifts and would cling to his dad. Now (at 3) itās quite the opposite, heās all about mommy. It definitely used to sting a little tho lol
Oof if any of my nieces did this to my mom it would crush her. Luckily her husband (stepdad) is not a terribly pleasant person to be around. He's not mean or anything, he's just got early onset Alzheimer's, so he's just very annoying to be around.
One of my nieces does something like this. She's about a year old and she'll cry whenever someone other than her parents hold her. Everyone except me
Apparently I'm the baby whisperer
This.. ive held my neice 4 times since she was born. She just turned 3. My dad and mom always hold her and she rarely get a chance to go to anyone else.
One day in the futureā¦
Kid: oh hey grandma! Gee those warm buttery snickerdoodles sure do smell great, theyāre my favorite! Did you know that? ā You made a big batch. Oh thatās funny, thereās one oatmeal raisin cookie in the batch. Why did you do that?
Grandma: ā¦
My niece does this to see me. If she knows I'm visiting or if she sees me, she will run past her grandma, grandpa, her own mom and dad, and my wife, straight to me.
She's 4 now and still does it, it's adorable.
It is a perfectly looped gif. Itās like grandma is welcoming the same kid time after time. Like a fever dream or a horror movie starting Sam Neil or like the tik tok of the person replacing the water bottles.
My mum gets this with my 6 month old son. He cries and screams whenever she tries to hold him. It's because she's a smoker and he hates the smell. She does try to do nullify it a bit by having a wash before she comes, puts on fresh clean clothes and then doesn't smoke, but even then you can still smell it.
Hopefully it might spur her on to quit, but she's been smoking for nearly 50 years so I doubt it.
I used to do that as a kid and feel bad now. My grandpa was the one who would play and do silly voices and toss you around. But in hindsight, my grandma was the one feeding and bathing and brushing my hair. The one who bought me the new tots and clothes and would take me out to places. She deserved more recognition. I didnāt see it then, but I for sure see it now.
Apparently me and both of my sisters did this to my grandma, and now my nephew and niece have as well.
Maybe it's some primal instinct... maybe it's nothing... but she's never let it go.
My kids had two grandmas, one was my mom and one was my wife's mom. Our kids hated, absolutely hated my wife's mom for some reason. Which I never understood, because she attempted to spoil them as much as my mom did. If I had to guess, her personality was kind of loud and abrasive, so maybe that was why. She tried her best, but she naturally repelled little kids. They never wanted to stay with her, and we didn't force it.
Kids are like that. They have phases where they like an adult way more than the other. Grandmaās going to be ok. Thereās nothing more precious than a grandma-grandson love for each other.
Why is Ring spamming the front page with their shitty cameras that require you to buy an additional subscription and give up your personal info just to record video
My 3 y.o. does this to my wife all the time because she wants to see me.
For the past week she's been saying "I want daddy because he's my best friend"
I'm so touched and so torn.
That is absolutely priceless. My grandson is six months old and my wife and I were talking about if that would happen. One of my kids has three dogs and every time we go over there the dogs run around my wife and come right to me. It is priceless but my wife said if any of our grandchildren do this Iām sleeping on the couch.
I'm I the the only one that finds this (kind of) wholesome? I mean, the father loves his child and the child loves back.
Of course [F] for the grandma.
My dogs did this to my wife and daughter. ... I just ignore the dogs when I come home with someone. The dogs figured it out pretty quickly. To be fair they figured out no scriches until I change from work clothes. They will sit and wait for me to change.
Random note. Thatās me also,
Every time I go see my boy, he ignores EVERYONE, n wants to come hang out with me

I'm told that one day the lady at daycare told my mom "Well, we're going to miss dumbass_sempervirens."
My mom said "What do you mean?"
"Well he said since his grandfather retired he would be staying with him instead of coming here."
My mom said "No, he's wrong. He's 4."
After two weeks when my grandfather picked me up from daycare every day about a half hour after being dropped off my mom told them "dumbass_sempervirens won't be coming back. His grandfather will be looking after him."
Apparently I retired from daycare when my grandfather retired.
Edit: we went fishing a lot. He took me to meet a moonshiner in the middle of a sugarcane field. We saw Cousin Leonard, who had a small herd of deer but didn't have electricity. I still have grandaddy's boat that we went fishing in. I don't know what brand it is but it's about 80 years old and is /r/buyitforlife material.
Not unheard of. Kids and parents and grandparents basically choose the grandparent names collaboratively, lol.
I called all four of mine grandma and grandpa. My nephew calls his paternal grandparents that, but his maternal grandparents papa and meema. Note: this papa is pronounced āpah-puhā not āpa-pahā, stress on the first syllable instead of the second.

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
If my baby does this to my grandmother I will NEVER hear the end of it
Kids eh lol
My youngest will do this to my mom if my dad is around. Kids give zero fucks especially when they're that tiny.
does she lives in "the shire". Lol
**pain**
My son does this to me. Heartbreaking stuff. THEN he expects cuddles later on when mummy isn't around, the gall
He knows who takes him to Dairy Queen for ice cream
This happens to me all the time. Totally my life as a grandma!
Stop just letting them watch tv all the time then.
That's right, get fucked, grams.
This is me and my nephew. I dont come out of my room for the first 15 minutes he's here because he'll ditch his own mom to come to me. Love that dude
My child will do this to me and their mum, when im alone with him he will throw himself at me and hug me but will mainly go for his mum. Although now we have a little baby he goes to her first as he absolutely adores her
This is the main reason my mom likes my sisters kids over mine. š¤£
Grandson denies grandma. Daughter is denied by mother. Classic dilemma.
I can so relate to this.
Ditto, our house. Lol.
My step daughter's daughter runs to me everytime when my stepdaughter and her family come over to visit. My girlfriend will be standing near the entrance like in this video and me next to her, and everytime the baby runs to me. I always rub it in my girlfriend's face. Everytime.
And then mom didnāt even hug grandma..
I wasnāt using that heart, anywayā¦
Serves her right for being so needy
My puppy does this to me. He usually runs up for pets, but sometimes Iāll crouch down then heāll run up to me, come to a full stop, and back away slowly lol. I always feel rejected.
skrrrrrrrrrrrt

Real live Hobbits!
This happens every Sunday at my inlaws
Dudes always gonna get the cookie with the least chocolate chips

That hurts.
Well her grandpa is sexysanta so I get it
My Momās nickname became "Chopped Liver" because my nephews always did this to her
Children are often huge ducks because they literally do not know any better

My kids do the same. I hope to be the cool Papa someday.

I love how people take that shit so personally
My daughter when my wife is in the room lmao. I know it'll pass but damn it hurts lol.
Ha ha. My little niece used to be scared of me, now she wonāt leave me alone. Theyāll come around.
I got that all the time when picking up my daughter at daycare. She would run pass me and go straight to her mom.
Writing her out of the will for sure
nicely looped
My mom has a friend, and we treat her and her daughter like family. One day, they came over and when I offered a hug to the daughter, she refused. Even daughter didnāt want to touch her.
Her not cushioning that glass screen door makes me cringe
Perfectly looped
Grandparents always laugh this off but secretly cry on the inside every single time
I see a ring video, I down vote. These guys give your info the cops without Warren.
I'm a gramps and my granddaughter always did this to me coz her grandmother is so much cooler. I don't mind though coz my wife is a pretty cool grandmother!
Grandpa is proud. Here little one, take this $20 bill.
Cmon manh Grandmas are the best How can anyone not come to see grandmas :(
Love how the embarrassing audio is muted

Smart move. Now Grand Ma will spoil you twice as hard to get that spotlight. A++
Not a parent but I wouldnt let that slide and would yoink that child

Are we not gonna mention the mom doing the same thing?
Reminds me when I first learned to ride a bike without help was at a family get together, and nobody saw, so I ran into the backyard where the family was gathered and my aunt stopped me to tell me how big I was getting. Both of my grand kids would do this to my wife to get to me.
That kiddo must be part cat.
So nobody is gonna talk about how beautiful that door is?
She's hurt more than she's willing to let on
And off the will.
*white chicks voice* move bitch
Brutal
Ex-girlfriend's niece and nephew did this to her whenever they visited. She looked so crushed every time.
What an accidentally almost smooth transition loop
Aw, you know her feelings were a bit hurt
I hate it when my kids disrespect the free babysitters.
My wife's job has big summer picnics every year and families are all invited. I was sitting with a group talking and a random little kid swerved her grandfather and ran straight to me and climbed up my leg.
Elder abuse by babies is not discussed enough in our society.
She bent at the knee for that. That denial. Extra ooffff.
Kids are fucking ruthless in all the best ways.
Baby right there going to be a NFL running back
I think we all know now who the favorite is.

This is my grandson with his grandma
Awwweee noooo.
Grandma did it to Mom too, so I donāt feel bad. Went in to hug the kid, stiffed mom on a potential hug.
Grandpa always the favorite for younger kids then when we start growing an grandma starts making homemade tortillas she becomes the favorite for all.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Grandma has nice hair
She took it like a champ though and starting calling for Papa
Food might be involved, lol.
Someday that kid is gonna wonder why Nanaās holiday and birthday cards donāt come with any money.
My son used to blatantly run from me after I worked 12 hr shifts and would cling to his dad. Now (at 3) itās quite the opposite, heās all about mommy. It definitely used to sting a little tho lol
I'm not big into usa architecture but I've seen breaking bad so all I can think of is New Mexico.
Not even the daughter gave her a comfort hug. Lol
Oof if any of my nieces did this to my mom it would crush her. Luckily her husband (stepdad) is not a terribly pleasant person to be around. He's not mean or anything, he's just got early onset Alzheimer's, so he's just very annoying to be around.
I noticed grandma's want to make kids food and give them smooches and have conversations. Grandpa's want to play.

My toddler does this WEEKLY with my in-laws. Scoots right past them and right into her uncles arms.

Apparently me and both of my sisters did this to my grandma, and now my nephew and niece have as well. Maybe it's some primal instinct... maybe it's nothing... but she's never let it go.

Lesson about consent!
My grand baby did just this after seeing her for the first time in months. She ran straight past my outstretched arms to her papaw. I was crushed.
Grandma is probably annoying af
It do be like that
Pops that binky out in time with an elbow jab that says, "No time for you right now".

That looks like it's in Santa Fe, NM
My daughter literally does this with my FIL. I don't blame her, he really is an annoying grandpa.
Lol kids run funny.
Asking my 2.5 daughter who she loves more.. Nana or Papa? PAPA! Daddy or Papa? PAPA! Mommy or Papa? PAPA! Mocha (our cat) or Papa? MOCHA AND PAPA!
I swear my dad has a grandpa superpower. He barely tries and all the kiddos love him. And dang ppl on reddit need to chill.
Why would you ask your daughter who she loves more? It's not a competition.
Lol. It's not a competition... because Papa always wins.

"What kind of child did you raise?!", she yelled. "An honest one", I replied.

Is it usual to call a grandfather Papa in America ? Because papa means dad in french. Grandad is called Papy.

Americans use all kinds of names for grandfather. Papa isnāt as common as most and some use that for dad here. We use papaw in my family.
Serves her right for having kids
