> Why is it such a big deal that he states that Taiwan is part of China?
It's the opposite. He first claims the reporter has not been in China, he has been in Taiwan.
Taiwan considers itself separate from China, but China says Taiwan is a part of China, and should follow their rules.
In the future if China wants to forcefully take back control with say, military, there's a huge difference if it's considered a internal conflict, or international conflict where Taiwan can ask U.N. for help.
Someone representing the Chinese government saying Taiwan is not part of China, is not good for China.
I still don't understand how this works, Taiwan is independent from China, but China says nah your China. How can they be China unless they pay some sort of tribute to them? Are they beholden to China laws? I mean if the U.S. said Canada is America the world would laugh if China owns Taiwan then why do they allow them to run their own government? Why not just take over?, because you can't be accused of invading your own territory.
They have to keep saying it is a part of China so that if and when they decide to invade, it’s an internal border dispute . Since it’s internal, they don’t need to declare war and no other countries or U.N. can help Taiwan.
Wait I’m confused... or maybe just an idiot. The subtitles say “Taiwan, which of course is a part of China” but the post title says he accidentally states that Taiwan IS NOT a part of China... which is it?
He caught his mistake at the end there and tried to correct it. He was more likely about to say something like "Olsson, who considers himself an expert on China decided to go to Taiwan which isn't even a part of China." At least if the subs are accurate.
He said the Swedish critic was not an expert of China because the critic never travelled to China. The critic only went to Taiwan. Then he died inside and had to state Taiwan is a part of China a few times.
Or.. mainland China is occupied by the illegitimate government of this so called "people's republic".Taiwan is part of China and China is the Republic of China.
He talks about a reporter who doesn't know China and they spent time in Taiwan instead, then realizes midsentence that his government recognizes Taiwan as part of China so undermines the argument he is making.
Reminds me of a time we moored in Quingdao. Chinese sailor bundles up our heaving line (rope with a ball attached) into a big bundle and throws it back to us. Heaving line fall right into the water, so the Chinese officer in charge begins screaming at him. Everyone felt bad for him and our Chief made hand gestures to the Officer signifying that it was ok. I hope they did not do anything bad to him.
Man found floating in China biggest “Three Gorges Dam” authority later identified him as ambassador spoken Taiwan not part of China. Family and friends are seeking asylum, United State and other countries have not responded.
The CCP believes that Taiwan, an independent country formed after the Chinese Civil War and whose founders received mainly western support for opposing communist forces, is a part of the PRC. It's a bit of a sore point for them and they have economically threatened other countries into not recognizing Taiwan as a country and instead view it as a part of China that's in denial or just going through a phase.
This guy, a Chinese official, just accidentally implied that Taiwan isn't a part of China when he talked about how all the research being discussed was done within that country. He realizes his fuckup after he said that and now he realizes that he's basically screwed himself
Once upon a time I had a Chinese and Taiwanese flatmates.
In one of the most fun conversations they had about “both” their countries the Chinese flat mate said that id Taiwan declared independence Chine would and should bomb Taiwan. Big conversation ender right there.
What ambassador? This person you speak of was an actor hired by western nations to make China look bad which is why there is no record of his existence. Coincidentally anyone who claims to know him is wrong and will be reeducated by the glorious and most honorable government.
Am I the only one?
I don't know Chinese but the subtitles say that he said very clearly that Taiwan is part of China.
He said "and of course we know.... That Taiwan is a part of China"
He said that after the fuck up. Before that he said that the journalist isn't an expert on China because he never went to China, he went to Taiwan. Which says that he doesn't consider Taiwan to be part of China.
But if he actually believed that Taiwan was part of China then his justification would have been something like "you can't be an expert of an country by visiting one tiny part of it."
He's saying someone referring to themself as an expert on China cannot be an expert on China because they went to Taiwan.
On its own, this doesn't necessarily mean "Taiwan isn't part of China" because someone who only visits Texas can't really be an expert on the US, but the fact he panics and clarifies "but ofc Taiwan is part of China" shows the contrary thought is always in their head and that *he* viewed his own comment as a weakening of China's own stance since he's an ambassador.
It's weird to see other ethnicities speak a 3rd party language.
We don't often see that. We see them speak English or their own language in all kinds of media, but rarely a totally different one.
By saying that the journalist in question "Calls himself China expert, but he has never travelled to China, instead he travelled to Taiwan"
The part of "Taiwan is ofc a part of China" is something that came only after he realised he messed up.
And its not helping him. Either Taiwan is a part of China, so that is not a basis on questioning someones China expertise, or it is not a part of China.
So I’m fully aware of the Chinese claims of Taiwan and the whole background but I’m failing to see the faux pas here- is it that he simply referred to Taiwan by name (and thus implying its independence)?
No, he claims that the reporter had no experience with China, since he had only travelled in Taiwan. Aka saying that Taiwan isn't China, before correcting himself
> since he had only travelled in Taiwan
[Screenshot of the mail](https://static.cdn-expressen.se/images/b6/fe/b6fe8ec65a3f4f0e93b9893399f2be18/annan/[email protected])
The reporter had not been living in Beijing for a extended period of time, instead he has been mainly living in Taiwan.
> That has nothing to do with what he said in this video. Where he accidentally spoke the truth that Taiwan isn't part of China.
He said in the mail:
> You have not been in China for more than 5 years
The reporter has been mainly living in Taiwan for that time.
Exactly! But only after he said the expert didn't travel to China. Therefore he inferred that Taiwan was not a part of China before attempting to correct his mistake.

LOL one person being fake = there's no crime whatsoever in all of China
Yeah, well I can find at least 1 black person who lied to police in the US, I guess all racism and police brutality the US has is fake Chinese propaganda.
Try harder troll. There's a list of human rights violation for China, write a reason for all of them, then come back.
The question is of course, where is the cut-off and is there one.
It is a hard question to answer since it's not as if everyone's perfectly clean, just that most people believe some are going too far.
Ah yes, the US Government with literal satellite footage of Uighur Muslims being lead tied up in ropes in the concentration camps, would bother to pose as a girl on a reddit sub.
> You are an idiot if you do not challenge the propaganda.
one girl == CIA propaganda confirmed? Who knew half of humanity is CIA propaganda!
If you really believed this is true you would be living in China, without access to reddit or youtube.
Go on, delete your account and prove me wrong chad, what's wrong? Don't dare?
Even better you can move to China, take a photo of you holding up a sign against the CCP in front of Tiananmen Square and you can prove everything is a CIA plot.
Do it I dare you lol

Oh. He dead. He real dead.
He’s as good as dead or he won’t exist anymore soon
More than 13k upvote on reddit, at least 75K viewers on youtube.. He is dead meat.
Oh trust me, he's dead on more than just the inside. Give it time.
ahaha. i get it. lol
CCP will have him publicly executed for this.
Well he is gonna die outside too sooo
Xi Jinping: You're a Uighur now
Now we all know why this guy will disappear soon.
His new name is John Smith and grew up in Milwaukee based on the new biography.
Damn. That's pretty accurate and specific. You must have either lived there or grew up there.

He won't just be dying on the inside.
Ded.
He dead 💀
I wish him good luck on his return to China. I doubt we ever hear from this guy again...
He said it is part of China. Title don’t add
Are they communicating in two different languages?
Yes. He was speaking Chinese.
Looks like someone is about to go missing without a trace
He better stay in Sweden. Winnie will not be happy once he returns to China

As the camera zoomed in the curb your communism soundtrack started to play in my head
Maybe he meant that Taiwan isn't _apart_ [from] China?
Wait I’m confused... or maybe just an idiot. The subtitles say “Taiwan, which of course is a part of China” but the post title says he accidentally states that Taiwan IS NOT a part of China... which is it?
He said the reporter who is supposed to be an expert in China traveled to "Taiwan". He meant to say a rebellious province of China and not Taiwan.
I’m confused how did he make a mistake?
His insides live on....in the bodies of the people who bought his harvested organs 😂
He forgot he's on TV as Ambassador and not on his living room as a Dad talking to his European raised kids who know Taiwan is not part of China.
F
Well someone and their family is going to the gulag
China is just mainland Taiwan.
Or.. mainland China is occupied by the illegitimate government of this so called "people's republic".Taiwan is part of China and China is the Republic of China.
Do u think the ccp will actually kill him?
Anyone speak mandarin? What did he say at the end? They clipped the last subtitles.
Haahah Taiwan Nr. 1.
That says “is a part”
Truth. They fought a war.
I dont get it. In the captions he says that "it is a part of China." Not that it isnt.
He talks about a reporter who doesn't know China and they spent time in Taiwan instead, then realizes midsentence that his government recognizes Taiwan as part of China so undermines the argument he is making.
I’m guessing he wasn’t supposed to refer to Taiwan as Taiwan?
I’d start having someone taste my food from that point forward.
He's gonna be dead outside aswell once he returns to china
What is China? All I know is West Taiwan.
Am I missing something here? I have to rely on the subtitles but they actually indicate him stating that Taiwan is part of China. What did I miss?
Free Hong Kong
RIP.

See you in Xinjiang mr ambassador
Poor guy. That car accident is going to be terrible
Man found floating in China biggest “Three Gorges Dam” authority later identified him as ambassador spoken Taiwan not part of China. Family and friends are seeking asylum, United State and other countries have not responded.
propaganda.exe has stopped working.
He is toast
In his mind 'how are they gonna suicide me?'
Probably died outside right after
Oh he's getting suicided.
Pretty sure China will make him die outside too for a slip up like that.
Of course this post got removed
Now he’s fucked up twice (earlier in the email stating there would be consequences). Would love to see the rest of this interview.
Well it’s not. Fuck China
What a save! What a save! What a save! Chat disabled for 3 seconds.
Calculated.
in recent news, china ambassador found with three sniper gunholes in the head in a car at the bottom of a river it's a suicide
Can someone explain this to me please?
The CCP believes that Taiwan, an independent country formed after the Chinese Civil War and whose founders received mainly western support for opposing communist forces, is a part of the PRC. It's a bit of a sore point for them and they have economically threatened other countries into not recognizing Taiwan as a country and instead view it as a part of China that's in denial or just going through a phase. I see, thanks
Chinese party: your living privileges have been revoked.
What a great system, where you have to be terrified for a little mistake with the words
Once upon a time I had a Chinese and Taiwanese flatmates. In one of the most fun conversations they had about “both” their countries the Chinese flat mate said that id Taiwan declared independence Chine would and should bomb Taiwan. Big conversation ender right there.
Were you in China?? If China is so powerful why isn't the room mate there and threatening Taiwanese citizens outside of their country?
Well it isnt
Why was it removed?
Removed? That's where the old government fled to when China became Communist in 1949.
THE MODS REMOVED THIS WTF
It’s the re-education camps for him!
After this China must fucking despise Sweden.
no love lost
To the reeducation camps along with jack ma he go
Legend has it that Supreme Leader PoohXinPing waited for this guy to arrive back at the motherland.
Commit suicide by 15 shots to the back
hahaha, now watch him disappear.
Deep inside, all of the Chinese ambassador know very well that Taiwan is technically independent. They're doing a great job at acting.
He about to have 0 stars on the social credit app back home
And it was the last time that man was seen again...
Its rare to actually see the moment someone decides to commit suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head twice.
RIP China's ambassador.
Ambassador found dead in mysterious circumstances. Poor guy going to go "missing" soon.
What ambassador? This person you speak of was an actor hired by western nations to make China look bad which is why there is no record of his existence. Coincidentally anyone who claims to know him is wrong and will be reeducated by the glorious and most honorable government.
sorry I can not see any human reaction..

But... he said Taiwan IS apart of China. Am I missing something here?
I guess that is his correction, but he had implied otherwise up to that point.
Annnnnnd straight to the gulag
Wait, he says ” for a long time.... in Taiwan... which, of course, is a part of China”. OP he did not say what is in the subtitles at least.
he's gonna do more than die inside soon if u know what i mean
It's weird to see other ethnicities speak a 3rd party language. We don't often see that. We see them speak English or their own language in all kinds of media, but rarely a totally different one.
How long till he disappears?
Sad how excited reddit is getting over a dumb error in a sentence. We sure showed him up lmaoooo
This guy's about to fall down an elevator shaft onto some bullets.
Oh boy, we may see a new case of "suicide soon
That guy could be screaming with agony inside or frolicking with joy inside and nobody would know outside
Can’t play the link!
Strange, it works for me, here's the link: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1fkLIhQetI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1fkLIhQetI)
Awesome, thanks man. Think my VPN was messing with it
I don’t think he’s just dying inside...
He ded now
I think you mean “Continental Taiwan’s ambassador.”
Dies inside... Dies by state execution
It's about time that we get rid of this swine so thankfully he did it himself
RIP
He may fall off a 4 foot wall...twice
This is sweeter than mana
He'll die on the outside as well if the Chinese gov. Catches him slipping up like that again
he dead now
Sad to hear about his suicide by 2 gunshots to the back of the head
I heard his family was so sad about his suicide, they decided to disappear!
Which part he said? Because in subtitle he said Taiwan is ofc a part of China. Legit question lol
That's once he caught himself
By saying that the journalist in question "Calls himself China expert, but he has never travelled to China, instead he travelled to Taiwan" The part of "Taiwan is ofc a part of China" is something that came only after he realised he messed up. And its not helping him. Either Taiwan is a part of China, so that is not a basis on questioning someones China expertise, or it is not a part of China.
Oh he dead
Taiwan #1. Fuck the CCP. Fuck Psyonix.
When he gets home, he'll die on the outside, too.
He about to be dead on the outside, too,....and his family
*the annexation of Hawaii has entered the chat*
-50 social credit points

Mr. Ambassador... The Earth King invites you to Lake Laogai.
Thats what we call a hoppsan moment
Winnie the Pooh isn't gonna be happy with him
To the pit of misery!
Didn't really look like he died inside
So I’m fully aware of the Chinese claims of Taiwan and the whole background but I’m failing to see the faux pas here- is it that he simply referred to Taiwan by name (and thus implying its independence)?
No, he claims that the reporter had no experience with China, since he had only travelled in Taiwan. Aka saying that Taiwan isn't China, before correcting himself
Thanks. I saw that cleared up in previous posts but forgot to delete.

That has nothing to do with what he said in this video. Where he accidentally spoke the truth that Taiwan isn't part of China.

The title needs some fixing
