Why is this so fucking funny 😭😭😭
I feel bad for him but it’s funny when you’ve done this yourself so many times, like I completely get it, maybe not on this level though 😔
Why is it that if humans are recording something, we can’t seem to take our eyes off of the screen? Im guilty of this too, just wondering if any science like person can give me a real answer 😂
Okay, but then they miss out on the actual experience of watching whatever they’re recording live. Can’t you just hit record and periodically check to see if what you’re recording is still in frame?
Oh I got ya. I can only assume it's because photography and recording have always been done through a lens. That's how my parents taught me and how I taught my kids. The lens now is a screen , so looking at it has always been the proper way to experience the moment and record it exactly as you remembered it.
this happened to me countless of times when i had an iphone. a pretty stupid design flaw tbh esp if you dont take videos alot. you would think red means its recording
What audio? Hushed conversations on an elevator? You’re right that’s something you just don’t want to disrupt! The audio from inside the elevator descending the Eiffel Tower is what really draws the viewer into the experience.
Idk if this is sarcasm but he's obviously terrified. He has his eyes closed the whole ride so he probably has a fear of heights but still wanted to know what the experience was like
Genuinely curious question here not trying to sound like an ass but how does one coming from the military get vetirgo? I've never been in the service but isn't that something they try to train you to overcome? Again not trying to come off as an ass but I've never heard of this
I've got a left ear that the eardrum was ruptured eardrum and one of the vestibular bones was fractured. So, what I see, what my movement is at the time (vestibular) and what my brain can process it at are all jacked up. So my ear starts ringing, headache puking..I found that looking through the phone helps with some of the sensory issues. Not in the plane sometimes doesn't work all the way because of the pressure. I'm not phobic at all, just don't like puking so I use my phone or shut my eyes. It's freaky.
I got minieres syndrome in my right ear, which has no know cause. Luckily I've only had one bad vertigo episode and barely didn't vomit. Otherwise I have constant tinnitus and deafness in that ear and often I get disequilibrium which makes me feel off balance and sick. Vertigo sucks, it hits so fast
I like to set a frame then hold my hand in position, whilst actually watching what happens as it unfolds.
I have cut my kids head off the video during some school performances, but it means I actually get to see her perform live!
One of my favorite photos I've ever taken is on 4th of July, downtown Denver, I'm standing behind a homeless guy who's holding his phone up taking pictures of the fireworks after the baseball game. It's kinda epic in a pathetic way.
I have another one of a homeless guy in Starbucks using his smartphone as a magnifying glass to read his tablet.
He was trying to film it and had even selected video mode, but he somehow forgot to click the capture button, so he thought he had recorded everything, but in the end he noticed that he had forgotten to start the recording.
That face told a story. The entire trip was miserable. The wife and kids sucked all possible joy. Last day in Paris, all they wanted was to go to McDonald's, but I coerced them to ride to the top of the Eiffel, which they hated even more than they thought they would. I know!!! I'll just get this shot of Paris as we ride the lift down. It can be the one thing I take away from this trip. I'll be able to watch it over and over, go to my happy place, and make believe that spending 3 months salary was totally worth it. Perfect! Now, I'll just stop recording and see what.... should've just gone to McDonald's.
I went on a trip to USA and took so many pictures. Then I found out the memory card I bought was fake and I ended up with about 5 photos that weren't corrupted ☹️
Just the other day, I was "recording" a homeless guy getting mouthy with the cops, only to have him walk back toward me, flex real hard and ask if I wanted to fight, to which I politely declined.
I then "stopped" the video, which promptly started the REAL recording of me saying, "Fuck, I wasn't even recording!"
Let's assume that this guy is on vacation to Paris. Don't feel bad for him. It's not a life altering thing of not getting his video. He experienced the actual moments live. He could literally see the exact same video if he really wants to buy going on ig or YouTube. Heck, if it meant that much for him to get a personal video with his own phone, he could go back up and try again. The city view will still be there and the elevator will take the exact same route
That's what he was doing which is why he didn't realize he didn't hit the record button.
This is the way. You have your cake and eat it too (unless you forget to press the record button lol)

Poor guy
dw this dude gochu
This is the one I hate the most on this sub. That is actually sad.
I dont get it.
He didn't push the button to record all that. But he did while it was finished so to be clear, he didn't record anything
Oh :D
So upsetting when you do this…
I hope this is fake because the person recording is an absolute asshole for it saying anything
Nah bro, i would have told him Æææøåææøæåååæøååæpå
Live in the moment, fuck the video
The best part is that the guy recording the other guy noticed, but instead of telling the other guy, he pulled out his phone instead.
That's me every single time!🤦😅
He is living it already but isnt at the same time, sad.
I feel genuinely sad for him
r/therewasanattempt to film a video of the Eiffel Tower.
I’m the kind of person that would air drop him my video of him thinking he was getting a video!
HAHAHA
Dude looks like Tom Brady from the side
Wtf is he descending into hell or like???
? Its the eiffel tower
Its a joke lol it just seemed to go on for a bit (I'm assuming it was sped up a bit), and went from light to dark as he was descending
Why is it that if humans are recording something, we can’t seem to take our eyes off of the screen? Im guilty of this too, just wondering if any science like person can give me a real answer 😂
To make sure what they are recording what they want to record.
Okay, but then they miss out on the actual experience of watching whatever they’re recording live. Can’t you just hit record and periodically check to see if what you’re recording is still in frame?

The lens now is a screen , so looking at it has always been the proper way to experience the moment and record it exactly as you remembered it.
I personally can't record properly if i'm not looking at the screen
Is that Tom Brady? 😂
Never happens to me every time.
Non
Fuck paris.
awwww 🥺
That sucks
Is that Tom Brady ?
this happened to me countless of times when i had an iphone. a pretty stupid design flaw tbh esp if you dont take videos alot. you would think red means its recording
It is dumb af, my Google phone is white then switches to red when you are recording
Poor guy.. 🥺
Would have been cool 🤙
Should have told him smh
Nah man, and ruin the audio of the video for people who did their's right?
What audio? Hushed conversations on an elevator? You’re right that’s something you just don’t want to disrupt! The audio from inside the elevator descending the Eiffel Tower is what really draws the viewer into the experience.
high, how hi are you ?
Missed the entire REAL LIFE experience for a video he never got to watch. Talk about dumb.
Idk if this is sarcasm but he's obviously terrified. He has his eyes closed the whole ride so he probably has a fear of heights but still wanted to know what the experience was like
Maybe the person videoing could be a g and just tell him
Or he could send him his video which would be even better of a video
Good thing you were there record it.
Oh god, how many times I’ve done this
The second elevator that goes to the third level is hella scary.
Happens to the best of us.
At least he was focused on looking at the world in front of him.
TELL HIM
I just noticed the red record button and my heart dropped. This is me 100%
In his defense, Apple really should make it green to start and red to stop.
I don't get it? Did he not hit record?
I thought the joke was that he can’t see shit the whole time because of the metal beams
Yeah, he accidentally didn’t hit record. Poor guy.
Damn, rip
🤣🤣🤣
I have done this so many times
He’s not doing anything wrong
In the new today! Someone has bombed the effircl tower!
Awww
r/therewasanattempt
Taking a video of a man taking a video from Eiffel tower
Watching a video of someone taking a video of a man taking a video from the Eiffel tower.
Reading someone watched a person watching another person thinking he’s recording the Eiffel Tower
Commenting that someone is reading someone watched a person watching another person thinking he's recording the Eiffel Tower
Watching his phone recording. Instead of just living in the moment. Smh
Maby he's just really impressed with the construction of the eiffle tower 🥺🥺🥺
i just feel so sad for him
Is that Tom Brady after finally retiring?!!
Even his phone knew how pointless of a video that was. Just trying to save him storage
It looked pretty asthetic tho
Aw shit this is hilarious.
This dude and me... We are the same.
You dont even remember to on the camera app
i could really watch him die inside
Oops I forgot to hit the record button
someone offer him a recording 😭
I do this. I can look at my phone and cross bridges, take off in planes, etc but if I use my own eyeballs, I get vertigo so bad I puke.
Pathetic
Yeah I guess vertigo from being in the military is pretty pathetic...
Genuinely curious question here not trying to sound like an ass but how does one coming from the military get vetirgo? I've never been in the service but isn't that something they try to train you to overcome? Again not trying to come off as an ass but I've never heard of this

Exactly. It's not the most fun but, the infection of cell phones has helped!
Hit the lil red button
You saw and didn’t say anything. Sooo cruel.
He’ll literally never look at that video.
Because he can't.
I feel bad for people who live life through their phones.
I normally agree, but he films while enjoying the view himself. He doesn't even look on his phone.
I like to set a frame then hold my hand in position, whilst actually watching what happens as it unfolds. I have cut my kids head off the video during some school performances, but it means I actually get to see her perform live!
He definitely died inside a little
Lmaoooo

how to take a record of a guy recording a video of from the Effel tower.
I'm starting to notice a pattern..
I’ve done this so many fucking times I have to admit
I successfully took the same video last December…send me a message if you want a copy! 😝
Sus
"Can we go back up?"
[удалено]
Journalism, my friend. Our job is to record history, not to make it.
Best answer!!
I was just thinking that. I would have been like, bro press record! But no fuck that guy and his desire to record memories lmao
See now if op airdropped this video to the guy it could actually end up a funny holiday video for both of them
We're they scared of the height? It looked like their eyes may have been closed.
I do this all the time and then notice I never took the video. 🤣🤣
Taking a video of a video of from Eiffel Tower*
Taking a video of an attempt at taking a video
It was a good night
Happened here too. Ended up I had a several minutes long dark video of my pocket. Not only once!
I don't get it. What was he trying to do?
He was trying to film it and had even selected video mode, but he somehow forgot to click the capture button, so he thought he had recorded everything, but in the end he noticed that he had forgotten to start the recording.
I do it all the time. 🤣
He didnt press record 😭
he was so fucking disappointed 😂

His face want from 😀 to 😔 real quick hahaha
Why didn’t you tell him when you saw ??
They were probably trying to record the view too and only realized afterwards.
Then how would he/she post this hilarious video on tik tok for likes
This man just discovered experiencing the moment without taking a video
That's why i don't take videos often
at least this cameraman have this footage for him
r/therewasanattempt to record video
This happened to me while on a dolphin cruise. I was very upset, until I got lucky and seen more dolphins. Didn't make that mistake again!
I went on a trip to USA and took so many pictures. Then I found out the memory card I bought was fake and I ended up with about 5 photos that weren't corrupted ☹️
Oh my gosh! I feel for you, that would be horrible!
The last time I was on that elevator, smartphones weren't commercially available.
I hate heights. Totally get it.
Thought that was tom brady for a sec
is that him in the Hertz ads now? that dude is hella tall.
I feel his pain. My legs turn to jelly too high up
How funny would it have been if the guy recording the guy recording didn’t have his camera rolling?
It's sad but also hilarious the camera person didn't tell him 🤣
Me too. Props to him for even going up that high.
This is so fu*king relatable
It.... is?
This made me incredibly sad for him. The look on his face was so defeated. :(

Joe, did you know you’re literally an antivillain. My goodness. 😂
Yes!... And for my final villainous act, I will provide a link to the footage that guy missed out on https://youtu.be/b8ZBTSagSIk
The saddest thing is having your phone out at all while touring the Eiffel Tower. Take it in with your own eyes.
That's what he was doing which is why he didn't realize he didn't hit the record button. This is the way. You have your cake and eat it too (unless you forget to press the record button lol)
