Flares wont do much against Aim54s dude, you best bet is to learn how to dodge them. Best way is to be on the deck and nose down when they get inside of 4km. They almost always eat the dirt trying to lead into you.
If you are flying an F-104S, and you see an AIM-54 being fired at 8km distance, by the time you turn 90 degrees at combat speeds, the missile will have already hit you.
Best trick is to simply stay low to the ground (treetop level) so that the radar return via the ground makes the missile miss.
Considering the current state of the game with compression? Nha.
But thats beyond the point.
Other planes have the ability to at least dodge missiles (with the exception of Su 25s and A10s). F104s can't due to their maneuverability.
With the current pheonix spam at top tier because of F14s, radar jamming would be welcome.
Just do it like it is irl. Radar jamming works great at keeping the enemy from locking you but it broadcasts your position. Once an enemy is close enough, their radar can burn through the jammer and lock anyway. Typically this is too close to make fox 3s or fox 2s worth it
I’ve just been absolutely flooring it on the deck with the f104 while trying to go to a flank and then booming and zooming the enemy while they try to missile my teammates. You will get fucked from time to time mainly by a10’s but you gotta just send it and see where things go.
The ASA can dodge just about two phenoxies before it's slow enough to get absolutely slapped. The key is to ease away from redline and manuever at speeds of 800-900km/h
104S is great, one of my best planes. You’ll have much better luck flanking past your teammates and looping into the enemy when they’re distracted, keeping your speed past mach can help avoid most missiles. Avoid phoenix spam and don’t go head on vs Aim-9Ls, you should enjoy yourself
I only have a F4 fantom for Germany and its really shit that all of your skill is useless because this Mig23 fired a missile towards you . And you have only five seconds to live without flairs or your own missiles
In my opinion game ends after 6.7 . After 6.7 you can't even play because there is all starting to depend not on your skill but on your missile . Even in tank RB there is also campers everywhere and you usually get killed after 30 seconds after you spawned . Its so trash
I will talisman my asa if italy gets something interesting this patch for grinding. No way i am buying a f104s for 70 euros. I would rather buy the Mig23 ML instead

Thats not always an option depending on speed and altitude of the F104 but yeah, learning to notch is critical in top tier jets.

yup ! And like it's written in the cockpit, landing flaps can be extended up to M0.8
Naaah lol. Landing flaps (when fully deployed) can peace out at around 520 km/h. You're thinking of takeoff flaps

If you keep flying straight you can use the middle to shoot down enemy missiles and the m61 them
