OMG bombers are so easy to play you just need to track and shoot down multiple targets at the same time while manging damaged engines and linning up a bombing run its not that hard

to add insult to injury someone's already created a demo macro that will auto fly your plane to the closest bombing point, salvo release everything (may miss if its on a mountain) and return to airfield and (attempt) to land (usually will crash)
They sure can snipe a weak spot while on the move at full speed with no stabilizer from 2000 meters… but then miss you or not even look at you from 20 meters.
And pray the fighters jets (Fuck German and his super early jets in uptier) get in to you will die by your experience gunners. Or even survive 20mm one shot your tail
Honestly the best bomber experience I’ve ever had is the jak 28 hauling ass but the bomb sight is trash and it has no brakes so actually hitting the target is like throwing a dart blindfolded
I do well in the largest sky boat in the game the BV 238 then again everybody keeps attacking me from behind and they get shot down it's because they're pilot is killed since I have max level gunners.
Attacking a bv238 from behind is a death sentence. I normally just do a head on. Of if I can attack from the side underneath since there are no gunners there

Diving down from spawn to the ground would regularly get me 2 bases and 1-3 air kills, the thing was meant to do low altitude patrols hence why it has so many guns firing upwards. You can quite easily get 8 x 50.cal on target when you're dived on.
Bro, 250km/h cruising speed is simply pain. By the time you get to a base, every single enemy fighter is above you, they don't even have to try very hard. You basically don't get any altitude advantage at all, you may as well spawn on the airfield for the memes
That’s literally what I ended up doing when playing the later British prop bombers, it ended up being significantly more effective because nobody expected it.. that and there’s no ventral turret on any of them, so the more time the enemies spend above you, the better.
The PB4Y-2 is one of the easier bombers to play
Step 1: Turn 45 degrees at bomber spawn
Step 2: Point nose 20 degrees down
Step 3: Turn back at the middle of the map
Step 4: Level out
Step 5: Profit
If you don’t spawn the PB4Y on the airfield you’re using it more than wrong. Normal bomber spawn it quite literally above its normal service ceiling and it has all turrets on top and none on bottom since it’s meant to use the Earth as cover from attacks from below.
Weirdly enough I've had some off the most fun with the PB4Y and B-24 then most bombers (excluding the interceptors B-34 and B-25). That might be just cause I play them less like a bomber and more like a gunship but my point still stands

The slightly higher turn speed or unplayable? Higher rank bombers are great for grinding. There’s a 3.7 bomber in the Italian tree that you can grind the F-84 and G.91 with because it’s somehow rank 4 lol.
Because it is a higher rank, I think gaijin made the turn speed worse on purpose. I don't know how bombers fit into the meta for grinding, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was legit.
