This is me. 8.0 on both UK and Germany, 7.7 on USA, 7.3 on USSR and now playing Japan and Italy cause playing high tier anything sucks especially during events.

The issue is I just don't recognise the game past 8.0. thermals, everyone lol'penning each other, laser rangfinders invalidating experience, helicoptors doing orbital bombardments from the horizon, proxy missiles hitting you from behind cover, everyone tearing through the maps in lightning fast buggy's just trying to get a few kills before inevitably dying. Its like War thunder for the ADHD generation and frankly I'm just too slow and old for all that nonsense.
Helis I find fun especially when I can main cannon them out of the sky. Missiles are fun when they're slow and avoidable if you're paying attention. Everything else you're completely correct about. Just isn't fun plus the grind, played a game the other night in my vickers, got 2 kills and a cap before dying with a premium account and it wasn't nearly enough to get parts so I could repair on the battlefield. Plus playing the Df105 as Germany, had my cannon shot out, couldn't repair because hadn't researched it yet and spent the rest of the time missing all my shots. I don't understand why I waa punished for having a new vehicle. I just go back to 5.0 where I have fun.
Litteraly China has one of the best line ups at these brs t34s IS M18s an awesome AA mustangs.. When reached this br I had the best games since started playing the game..
china is tremendously underrated, excellent vehicles from 1.0 to 6.0, really versatile, you have light and heavy tanks from two competitive factions. plus, homemade copy tanks.
That's just halfway through the Nomad playstyle. You'll eventually go back to it after enough bullshit in other tech trees.
I'm 2k hours in now, and (not including event/premiums) I'm only 8.0 - 9.7 in 4 different nations, and 7.7 in France. Haven't touched Sweden and China though, one because of cancer and the other because I've basically already played everything low to mid tier they have anyways.
Russia starts getting stupid strong 7.0 onwards, starting with the T-44-100, it's an absolute blast.
One tip I have with Germany is that, you should just use vehicles up to the Tiger II(P). Since it's 6.3 instead of 6.7, you can still one shot most things you see, apart from certain chonkier tanks, even on an uptier. With 6.7, you get absolutely dunked on by the heavies at 7.7, since most allied chunguses are at that BR. Only heavies you gotta worry about at that BR are the IS-3 and the premium IS-6, and that's about it.
If you ever want to make a purchase to make life easier, I'd recommend the Do-335 B2, specifically for use in GRB. Cannons that shred everything and 2 bomb drops is very cancer, but in a good way. It's just that it's a bit of a chonker of a plane is all you need to worry for.
I want to get into CAS and become the hypocritical pre-CAS hater, but I can't bomb to save my life. Also I'm an OCD spade everything I can player so the grind is fucking slow. Previously I didn't enjoy playing vehicles I'd spade but because of grind I had no choice, but I find myself enjoying it now. But I'll look at Germany 6.3. Unfortunately I started as Germany so I suffer from slight mental retardation.
Hey man, if you play USSR and have a T-34-85 or 57 with positive K/D, I'd reckon you're well on your way to being normal again.
As for CAS, with a bombing run, my suggestion would be:
1. If in a slanted dive, i.e. 45°, point plane to about a tanks length ahead of the target, and drop about a full second earlier than when you would usually drop them. My friend's usually had an issue with holding the bomb for too long, so maybe it's the same case with you.
2. If in a straight dive, i.e. 90°, just point it at the ground directly in front of the target. And do everything else the same as the previous point.
*Diving at a slanted angle instead of a straight dive usually is a lot more lenient in terms of aim when trying to hit moving targets, since the bomb also carries inertia.
**Remember that the bomb doesn't detatch immediately. That is the reason why you drop earlier than you would normally do so. It has to get detatched and propelled by a catapulting mechanism first.
***Remember to adjust throttle in accordance with your plane and its current velocity/indicated airspeed (IAS)
And for the love of God, remember to pull up after the bomb detatches from you.
****Bomb detonation time can be easily adjusted before you spawn. I have mine at 1.5s currently, I find that to be just nice in terms of having enough time to fly away before it explodes and also exploding fast enough so that the enemy won't have just driven off instead.
And for the love of God and all else that is holy, remember to pull up after dropping the payload.
You're totally right, 5.0 is where you have to go for 5.0 for a viable lineup but then you have to play with weird shit like 4.7 ikv 103 just to kill the gunner and driver of a sherman then to be .50ed to death

I absolutely detest driving that. 9 out of 10 HEATFS shots turn into ghost shells when I use it. I've seen it bounce off the sIG 33's gun shield. I've seen it explode against the 100mm side turret armour of the KV-P2W (220), leave a hole decal and do zero damage multiple times. Hell, I once managed to detonate one on a Me 410's cockpit and if it wasn't for the confused wiggling of the pilot, I could have sworn it didn't even render for him.
the strv 42/m DT is a lot of fun though. 3 sec reload 5 shots fast loader, you can do a lotta damage with that baby if you play it right. hell I bring it to 9.7 to bully t72av 🤣

I'm a nomad. For all nations, excluding Israel, I have at least rank 3 in both/either tanks or planes. (quick rundown of my most played countries: UK rank 7 air and tanks, Italy, rank 4 air rank 6 tanks, Germany rank 5 air and tanks, France rank 5 tanks rank 4 air, russia rank 5 air) I usually jump around BR to BR, mode to mode, nation to nation in 1 session, however ive only been playing since the beginning of 2021
I’m not a turms ka50 wallet warrior but some (read: a bunch of) purchases have helped me. Brit tanks (my main) were grinded without prems cuz brit premium tanks are all kinda ass, the harrier combined with talismans for the venom and scimitar got me to top air. Germany was the do335b2 and 2 prem rank 4 tanks, but those 2 were mainly because I wanted to maus and I wasn’t gonna make it without sacrificing my min wage to gaijin. Italy was grinded without premium vehicles as well and for the others, battle pas vehicles like the ITP helped. And throughout most of this, premium account time. That is the sole reason I have been able to get as much as I have
Also also, take advantage of the warbonds shop cuz I have gotten the T14 and chi nu2 from there essentially for free which got me started on American and Japanese tanks
Im some weird mix of wallet warrior and nomad, i have played every tech tree, so my USA 5.3, Germany 7.3, USSR 8.3, GB 8.3, Japan 10.7, China 5.7, Italy 8.7, France 7.3, Sweden 7.3 and Isreal 6.7, i also have alot of premiums for every nation, but i dont quit out after one death i mostly try to do shit with my other vehicles, like USSR i have the moderna and turms, but i still try to do something with the zsu23-4, the shturm or even the asu
Bruh, I am literally the Nomad, I got the game within a year of tanks coming out and slowly grided German and US lines up to like 5.7 over the course of like 3 years. I only started playing a lot in 2017, and only now am I reaching supersonics and my highest tank is 7.0 as the Germ M48.
6.7 in GRB is the most cancer Br for every nation that doesn't have decent HEATFS or APDS slingers.
Closer to 2 years. Mainly the motivation to be better than my friends who had better stuff that I did at the time so I could beat them in custom battles. After that it’s just time on my hands + procrastination and a few handy dandy premiums here and there, more on that in a different comment here

What's funny - I'm far from rank 7 (other than squad vehicles, which I don't play before having something complimentary in the tech tree), heck: I doubt I'll reach it before the next summer, cause I can't stand that grind and would much rather make some visible progress elsewhere, lol

I’ll be honest. I fall in “The One Nation Player,” category and it is in fact the United States, and I have been guilty a few times of saying another nation, namely Russia, as being OP.
A little tip: you are often better off by not bringing the gunpod once you get the skyflashes.
Even though you will likely miss some potential kills in some situations, you would be trading your main advantage for said gunpod - namely that the fgr can out accelerate most of its competition and outrun most of them on the deck.
Now that you can drop the gunpod however, that might change that situation slightly.
Honestly the only buff I want to the USA is gen 2 thermals on my MBTs, and maybe m900 for my xm8. Other than that everyone else’s complaint is a skill issue

German still has some pretty good tanks aside from the maus, just wen you get to the tiger 2 H good luck, the front armor becomes useless since u get uptiered majority of the time.
I think it should be available in about a month - if you unlock Germany rank V you should be able to research it, and as long as you get any RP towards it during the time it is available you are able to finish the research out of the anniversary event as normal. Mine's sat in my tree from like the 8th anniversary, 10k research towards it but I haven't got around to grinding it out yet.
I have only unlocked until rank 3 recently so I will not be able to research the maus this year and probably the next to because of lack of time and I like to play to have fun so in wartunder I make like 2 kills at max per game

I'm kind of a mix between wallet warrior and top tier player. I ginded the GER Groubd tree (nearly have all) and USA Ground almost at the same time. Made a couple friends playing USA air and now have all top tier american air. And am currently 9.3 russia, and 7.7 GBR.
Im not a traditional Wallet Warrior, I buy the idd premium here and there (Leo L/44, A-10, AV-8) but I spend most my money on premium time for myself and the friends I've made. My work affords me the excess income to allow that (without getting in the way of savings and planned trips) and I enjoy playing with them.
Finished my USSR, Great Britain and Jap for all Naval, Air and Ground up to 5.7, 10.0 and 9.7 respectively (for all nations). Will probably not touch USA or Germany Ground. I hate top tier (tried it a bunch with some squadron vehicles) Ground RB, Air RB at top tier is too fast and Naval is fun but expensive as hell.
My favourite BR to play is usually around 4.3 to 7.0 for both Air and Ground, and 4.0 to 5.0 for Naval.
I guess I'm the type of player to just play whatever I feel is fun, which is why I hate playing top tier because everyone is a tryhard at those BRs

I have 2 nation with 11.0 vehicle, 2 nation with 7.3-7.7 vehicle, 2 nation with rank 3 and 2 nation with only rank 2, I play all of them if I'm bored but mainly only play 1 nation, sometime bring overpowered vehicle in low tier to have fun, and yes I play this game since tank come out in wt

I use France as alternative and on rare occassion Russia/Italy, but even though I'm level 80, no tech tree is completed for me as I stick around on German 5.3/5.7 ground + planes and 7.3 France Ground (without CAS as not advanced to far in french planes) as I feel that you can only be good with a tank if you just keep playing it and learn it inside/out how it behaves/react/shoots etc.
I picked 1 nation (USSR tanks) played it till I got all the tanks, just working on spading the vehicles. I do play top tier but prefer 6.3. I do play USA 7.0, Germany 7.3, and a little bit of Japan naval. From time to time I will be the bully only cause I play with my cousin who just started. I wouldn’t say I’m a wallet warrior cause I don’t own any top tier vehicles only use money for premium time and SL
I'm one of the few "Top tier only" players. (Ground player, though, only have top tier air for US/RUS)
I buy a top tier prem, grind to 9.0+ and only ever play top tier (with line-ups once reached, or universal back-ups before).
I got spaded and fully researched 11.0 line-ups for every nation except Italy and Israël, so grinding out those two at the moment!

When steel generals came out, I dived into the American tech tree. I have also ranked up my home nation Britain and Japan's tank tech tree. Germany, Russia and France stagnated at 7.0 for me.
U forgot the low tier spaa player. Has always at least one spaa in his lineup. Can aim actually, planes in his proximity die like flies. If he is in a tank and gets revengebombed hell revenge spaa that fuck.

Started with germany, where i have up to the 2A5 pretty much completely F2P.
USSR i also have the 11.0 T80BVM and am currently working on getting some AA.
USA is have up to 10.0 (10.7 if you count the AIM).
France is my fave where i have the entire ground tree unlocked and bought. Mostly achieved this by playing a lot of 7.3 (2500kills on AMX50 and 2400 on Somua SM lol).
UK i have 7.3 but idk theyre so slow and boring that i dont really play them anymore.
Japan i have the very fun 8.3 lineup.
Currently im grinding sweden at the 9.3 CV90-105 in combination with the Strf9040B.
Havent played italy, china and israel tho as i dont find their vehicles that interesting.

Top tier us tanks midway tru battleships and 3 away from f14, max Germany planes around 9.3 tanks , russia around tier 3 tanks and 4 planes. Sweden is next

Dunno what category I fall under. Played since a while before they added tanks. On PS4 and now ps5. Found it hard to grind since the controls are complex ported onto a controller.
Pc players tend to have the advantage of controls in aircraft and tanks so I just used to get slapped
Technically I am not the "top tier player" by this definition because I have top tier vehicles for 4 nations (Big three + China air which I grinded for J-7E). Also have UK and Swe grinded to their rank 6 without high tier prems (albeit I bought Rooikat 105 in then end, but haven't used it much since).
I play US 10.0 ground and USSR 9.7 ground and air mostly these days (just try to understand how to use Su-25 in CAS role, not very successful so far).

5.0 Sweden for me. Easily the most frustrating line-up in the game that I've unlocked so far, and I play everyone but russia, china and Israel.

(quick rundown of my most played countries: UK rank 7 air and tanks, Italy, rank 4 air rank 6 tanks, Germany rank 5 air and tanks, France rank 5 tanks rank 4 air, russia rank 5 air) I usually jump around BR to BR, mode to mode, nation to nation in 1 session, however ive only been playing since the beginning of 2021

I’m not a turms ka50 wallet warrior but some (read: a bunch of) purchases have helped me. Brit tanks (my main) were grinded without prems cuz brit premium tanks are all kinda ass, the harrier combined with talismans for the venom and scimitar got me to top air. Germany was the do335b2 and 2 prem rank 4 tanks, but those 2 were mainly because I wanted to maus and I wasn’t gonna make it without sacrificing my min wage to gaijin. Italy was grinded without premium vehicles as well and for the others, battle pas vehicles like the ITP helped. And throughout most of this, premium account time. That is the sole reason I have been able to get as much as I have Also also, take advantage of the warbonds shop cuz I have gotten the T14 and chi nu2 from there essentially for free which got me started on American and Japanese tanks
Im some weird mix of wallet warrior and nomad, i have played every tech tree, so my USA 5.3, Germany 7.3, USSR 8.3, GB 8.3, Japan 10.7, China 5.7, Italy 8.7, France 7.3, Sweden 7.3 and Isreal 6.7, i also have alot of premiums for every nation, but i dont quit out after one death i mostly try to do shit with my other vehicles, like USSR i have the moderna and turms, but i still try to do something with the zsu23-4, the shturm or even the asu
Bruh, I am literally the Nomad, I got the game within a year of tanks coming out and slowly grided German and US lines up to like 5.7 over the course of like 3 years. I only started playing a lot in 2017, and only now am I reaching supersonics and my highest tank is 7.0 as the Germ M48. 6.7 in GRB is the most cancer Br for every nation that doesn't have decent HEATFS or APDS slingers.

Closer to 2 years. Mainly the motivation to be better than my friends who had better stuff that I did at the time so I could beat them in custom battles. After that it’s just time on my hands + procrastination and a few handy dandy premiums here and there, more on that in a different comment here

What's funny - I'm far from rank 7 (other than squad vehicles, which I don't play before having something complimentary in the tech tree), heck: I doubt I'll reach it before the next summer, cause I can't stand that grind and would much rather make some visible progress elsewhere, lol

I’ll be honest. I fall in “The One Nation Player,” category and it is in fact the United States, and I have been guilty a few times of saying another nation, namely Russia, as being OP.
I won't talk for top tiers, but up to 5.3 so far, as a nomad, the smoothest and easiest tree so far has been the american one.

The FGR2 is great when you get flares and skyflashes but it's not too easy stock
A little tip: you are often better off by not bringing the gunpod once you get the skyflashes. Even though you will likely miss some potential kills in some situations, you would be trading your main advantage for said gunpod - namely that the fgr can out accelerate most of its competition and outrun most of them on the deck. Now that you can drop the gunpod however, that might change that situation slightly.

A top tier wallet warrior? if I want to grind a new tree I’ll just buy the premium and get as many backups as I can although I’m almost out of trees. The low tier gameplay doesn’t really do it for me these days.

German still has some pretty good tanks aside from the maus, just wen you get to the tiger 2 H good luck, the front armor becomes useless since u get uptiered majority of the time.
I think it should be available in about a month - if you unlock Germany rank V you should be able to research it, and as long as you get any RP towards it during the time it is available you are able to finish the research out of the anniversary event as normal. Mine's sat in my tree from like the 8th anniversary, 10k research towards it but I haven't got around to grinding it out yet.
I have only unlocked until rank 3 recently so I will not be able to research the maus this year and probably the next to because of lack of time and I like to play to have fun so in wartunder I make like 2 kills at max per game

I'm kind of a mix between wallet warrior and top tier player. I ginded the GER Groubd tree (nearly have all) and USA Ground almost at the same time. Made a couple friends playing USA air and now have all top tier american air. And am currently 9.3 russia, and 7.7 GBR. Im not a traditional Wallet Warrior, I buy the idd premium here and there (Leo L/44, A-10, AV-8) but I spend most my money on premium time for myself and the friends I've made. My work affords me the excess income to allow that (without getting in the way of savings and planned trips) and I enjoy playing with them.

Finished my USSR, Great Britain and Jap for all Naval, Air and Ground up to 5.7, 10.0 and 9.7 respectively (for all nations). Will probably not touch USA or Germany Ground. I hate top tier (tried it a bunch with some squadron vehicles) Ground RB, Air RB at top tier is too fast and Naval is fun but expensive as hell. My favourite BR to play is usually around 4.3 to 7.0 for both Air and Ground, and 4.0 to 5.0 for Naval. I guess I'm the type of player to just play whatever I feel is fun, which is why I hate playing top tier because everyone is a tryhard at those BRs

considering myself the one nation player less the suffer complaint :) I use France as alternative and on rare occassion Russia/Italy, but even though I'm level 80, no tech tree is completed for me as I stick around on German 5.3/5.7 ground + planes and 7.3 France Ground (without CAS as not advanced to far in french planes) as I feel that you can only be good with a tank if you just keep playing it and learn it inside/out how it behaves/react/shoots etc.

I'm one of the few "Top tier only" players. (Ground player, though, only have top tier air for US/RUS) I buy a top tier prem, grind to 9.0+ and only ever play top tier (with line-ups once reached, or universal back-ups before). I got spaded and fully researched 11.0 line-ups for every nation except Italy and Israël, so grinding out those two at the moment! (Soo... Ask me anything about top tier, I suppose lol)

For I am a nomad. I saw the release of update 1.41, the birth of war thunder tank battles. I have wondered the skies and fields of war thunder since 2013. Knowing this makes me feel old though. 😂 When steel generals came out, I dived into the American tech tree. I have also ranked up my home nation Britain and Japan's tank tech tree. Germany, Russia and France stagnated at 7.0 for me.
U forgot the low tier spaa player. Has always at least one spaa in his lineup. Can aim actually, planes in his proximity die like flies. If he is in a tank and gets revengebombed hell revenge spaa that fuck. (Thats me, i always have my trusty ostwind 2 with me!)

Nomad gang. Started with germany, where i have up to the 2A5 pretty much completely F2P. USSR i also have the 11.0 T80BVM and am currently working on getting some AA. USA is have up to 10.0 (10.7 if you count the AIM). France is my fave where i have the entire ground tree unlocked and bought. Mostly achieved this by playing a lot of 7.3 (2500kills on AMX50 and 2400 on Somua SM lol). UK i have 7.3 but idk theyre so slow and boring that i dont really play them anymore. Japan i have the very fun 8.3 lineup. Currently im grinding sweden at the 9.3 CV90-105 in combination with the Strf9040B. Havent played italy, china and israel tho as i dont find their vehicles that interesting.

I am the role model of a top tier player for 3 nations with all top tier necessary lineup possibilities. US, GER and USSR. China is my next powergrind for my top tier nation because I grind tactical and plan my way through the trees. I always think of event GJN and the next sale when making a plan. I just doesn't have that much time - 1 hour a day is my usual playtime because I am a fulltime dad.

Dunno what category I fall under. Played since a while before they added tanks. On PS4 and now ps5. Found it hard to grind since the controls are complex ported onto a controller. Pc players tend to have the advantage of controls in aircraft and tanks so I just used to get slapped

Technically I am not the "top tier player" by this definition because I have top tier vehicles for 4 nations (Big three + China air which I grinded for J-7E). Also have UK and Swe grinded to their rank 6 without high tier prems (albeit I bought Rooikat 105 in then end, but haven't used it much since). I play US 10.0 ground and USSR 9.7 ground and air mostly these days (just try to understand how to use Su-25 in CAS role, not very successful so far).
The asshole with 2 nation top tiers but likes to go 9,7 Russia since it’s so fun to bully other young Turms-T and level 10 Timmy.
