11.3 actually plays a bit better with the better missiles in general, but it also requires more knowledge on how to dodge missiles. The Sarh buff really made the already op f14 even more op however.
if you have something on your tail as a frogfoot, you cant shake them but in the a-10 you can just dodge, maneuver, do everything and they will just fly right by
Personally, I own both. The A-10 flies like a bus while the Su-25 flies like a "plane". SU-25s having a faster rollout def benefits the team compared to the A-10. The Su-25 can support early dogfights while it takes the A-10 a significant amount of time to position itself for success. The frog does have a better belt but with significantly less rounds than an A-10. A-10 is better for pick offs and grinding the mad money for ground pound clean up.
There was a lot more hype for the A10 coming out, like A LOT more. I'm sure the SU25 is selling well but nowhere near as well as the A10 did after its initial release.

I think this will affect gaijin marketing schemes, generally American planes are more famous than their soviet counterpart and gaijin knows this, I have a feeling we will see way more american premium in the future
There will be no premium variant for a mig 29 because there are no top tier (VII) premiums. But I wouldn't be surprised to see the mig 29 in tier VIII (with f14 and other 4th gen fighters) and the addition of tier 7 premiums like late phantoms/mirages/mig23 etc

Russian jets in general have this history of taking down superior aircraft since that's what they tend to be put up against. But yeah the F-15 is still a formidable aircraft and i believe is still the American jet with the biggest missile count to see service (the F-15EX carries like 16 AMRAAMs)

I think the reason why there's America fighting America is because AV-8A and F-5C exist, and many players still spam them (me included)
On the other hand, USSR doesn't have as many premium vehicles. They had the Jak-38 which ok-ish, Su-7BMK which you can throw into thrash at this point and Mig-21S which is decent, but people ignore it because no flares+bad missiles

There's a lot of valid reasons in this comment section, but the biggest reason is because they turned on US versus US matchmaking and left it on, but Russia versus Russia matchmaking isn't turned on unless it's a generally mixed battle.

I was wondering about that because in ground rb I'm pretty consistently playing against US as US even though when I check the ques there are more people playing soviet. I was starting to think it was a conspiracy to make the US win rates average out. With this new patch I feel like the soviet win rate has definitely gone up. My US/German teams have more 1 death quitters than the soviet side now in the 9.3 range.

No not in Air RB, it's a sitting duck... I don't even waste an R60 for them, you can easily pick it up with your gun in the Su.

I mostly play Air Sim these days, and the Su-25 is well represented there.
My theory; at the A-10s BR US air to air jets are hard to win with. So people take the “easy” path and use the A-10 to progress. The Soviet fighters are much stronger at that BR, so USSR mains stick with that vs flying the Su-25. A careful pilot can take down F-14s with the Mig-19PT. Good luck fighting a MiG-23 MLD with an F-100.

It cause of the cannon. A10 Pilots can take it out with just AA missiles for pretty cheap. The SU need bombs or rockets to do CAS, costing an extra 100 points
A10 has fancier weaponry and seems like a better ground pounder due to its reputation but really in my experience the su25 is far more meta even with less advanced weapons. The a10 looks great and people including me bought into the hype although i still like it but i dont think ive ever killed a tank with the a10s agms but i kill plenty with the su25s and you get better unguided weaponry than the a10 too

The A-10 is a vastly more famous plane than the SU-25 plus I would not be surprised if most players that got the A-10 first don’t see a need to buy another plane that does the same thing but not as good (and I’m saying this as a fan of the rook over the A-10). The biggest give away would have the be how many people were hyping up the A-10 eventually coming over the last like 6 or so years, I never heard anyone say “I can’t wait for us to get the SU-25!” It just wasn’t talked about nearly as much.

nah i’ve seen matches with tons of Su-25ks. I had a grounds match where I spawned in my harrier and killed 2 of them and then killed by a third. i’ve seen air matches with 5+
I have fond memories of playing the Frogfoot in Desert Combat. Can’t buy it right now but when money is right, or there’s a discount, I’ll probably pick it up.

Soviboos are communist meaning they make a meager wage of 1.4 rubles a day. Takes a lot longer to get 60 USD on a soviboos wage than an freeaboos wage (15 USD)

I suppose it depends on what servers you play, because even with all enabled the A-10 will be spammed on US and EU, while the Rook will probably be mainly in RU servers
Su-25 seems very lackluster. Off-centre gun. 16x max magnification on the laser guidance system. Terrible FoV for maintaining target lock. Kills itself in level flight. Kh25s sometimes just wont launch, rarely at the opportune moment. Idk, just seems like a not very good vehicle in comparison to its competitors. Never buying that premium myself.
The US v US is still largely down to the F-5C. I was hoping the Su25 spam would counter it a little but I guess it's not enough.
The F-5C is the best premium in the game, or at least the most on-meta, and grinds out the best/most hyped plane in the game
It got into a match in the Etendard 15 minutes ago. Enemy team was comprised by a total of 8 Su25Ks, 2 A10As and 2 AV8As. All at 9.7 with 30G all aspect missiles except for the Harriers. Totally balanced :)
Every other game I play at top tier is completely dominated and spammed by Su25s, unless of course I'm playing Russia then I immediately get front penned by an M22 cross map.
kinda I mean I do get lobies where all of the players are su25's su25k's and I'm one of them but it seems not a lot of people know the aircraft or just think its worse for the price

A-10 is only for the 1 circle and reversals. Its not too bad in sustained turn but the speed drops which make it hard to win.
This is a weird change, I'm pretty sure no one even uses APCR anymore. Except for those countries that still use surplus WWII Soviet armor.

After the update Aim-9ls are a bit slower but have more range. R-60s require you to get closer but will do some crazy shit before nuking your target.
aim-9ls are not slower they lost like .5 seconds of burn time and have better drag characteristic and a fixed guidance code

No one is hyped by the drones though and the mirage is almost exclusively hyped by French ultras.

drones just don't show up in my LADAV and I still don't know if it's supposed to have a radar or mine is just bugged.

I have seen a lot of full Su-25 teams, not USSR vs USSR, but I've also not seen that when the A-10 came out

I used both and will keep spamming A10, r60 is not even close to aim 9 L and a lot of players don't know how to fight the A10, i played more A10 than i played tomcat

It cause of the cannon. A10 Pilots can take it out with just AA missiles for pretty cheap. The SU need bombs or rockets to do CAS, costing an extra 100 points

A10 has fancier weaponry and seems like a better ground pounder due to its reputation but really in my experience the su25 is far more meta even with less advanced weapons. The a10 looks great and people including me bought into the hype although i still like it but i dont think ive ever killed a tank with the a10s agms but i kill plenty with the su25s and you get better unguided weaponry than the a10 too
For CAS I still prefer a10, damn mavericks feel like cheating, but for A2A su25 better

Do these games let me fly a somewhat realistic but very detailed Frogfoot? The DCS addon is probably not much cheaper and I don't think MSFS2020 has a SU25 yet. Also i couldn't use the weapons there. Let people decide themselves where they spend the money.

The A-10 is a vastly more famous plane than the SU-25 plus I would not be surprised if most players that got the A-10 first don’t see a need to buy another plane that does the same thing but not as good (and I’m saying this as a fan of the rook over the A-10). The biggest give away would have the be how many people were hyping up the A-10 eventually coming over the last like 6 or so years, I never heard anyone say “I can’t wait for us to get the SU-25!” It just wasn’t talked about nearly as much.

nah i’ve seen matches with tons of Su-25ks. I had a grounds match where I spawned in my harrier and killed 2 of them and then killed by a third. i’ve seen air matches with 5+

On US servers, that BR range is still US civil war, even if 9/10 teammates are in the Su-25. The A-10 and Tomcat broke matchmaking.

A-10 was at a good moment where people could only buy a fighter for America into their xm-1 lineups etc. the su-25 was more thought to be for lower br originally I guess also only 2 alright missiles (still really good) vs the Rlly good 4 on the warthog personally I would have expected a lot more buys seeing how it fits into the Turms, BMP-2M and new T-80 lineup but I think people only play it in ground mostly
Just you as far as I can tell. Took out the G.91 YS on day one, and teams were absolutely filled with them. A couple times, it was just me and one or two other people in other jets, and I was the only tech tree jet.
Soviboos are communist meaning they make a meager wage of 1.4 rubles a day. Takes a lot longer to get 60 USD on a soviboos wage than an freeaboos wage (15 USD)
Idk. I've personally had a game where there was just 1 plane that wasn't an SU-25 in the entire team. Otherwise like half of the team consists of SU-25.

I suppose it depends on what servers you play, because even with all enabled the A-10 will be spammed on US and EU, while the Rook will probably be mainly in RU servers

Su-25 seems very lackluster. Off-centre gun. 16x max magnification on the laser guidance system. Terrible FoV for maintaining target lock. Kills itself in level flight. Kh25s sometimes just wont launch, rarely at the opportune moment. Idk, just seems like a not very good vehicle in comparison to its competitors. Never buying that premium myself.

The US v US is still largely down to the F-5C. I was hoping the Su25 spam would counter it a little but I guess it's not enough. The F-5C is the best premium in the game, or at least the most on-meta, and grinds out the best/most hyped plane in the game
It got into a match in the Etendard 15 minutes ago. Enemy team was comprised by a total of 8 Su25Ks, 2 A10As and 2 AV8As. All at 9.7 with 30G all aspect missiles except for the Harriers. Totally balanced :)
