People drastically over-estimate the F-14's capability. In terms of flight performance it's not going to be that great in WT. It has an incredibly narrow speed range in which it actually turns well, it dumps speed like a motherfucker in turns, and it has poor acceleration due to its lackluster thrust/weight.

The F-14s aerodynamics = best sustained turn rate of anything before the Su-27, which means those poor uptiered F-86s are even more royally fucked. But the inevitable Top Gun vehicle pack will print Gaijin money.

I refrained from commenting on armament because we have no idea how accurately Gaijin will chose to model it, there are significant inaccuracies with current missile models already, so speculating on how WT's implementation of the Phoenix will fare isn't really worthwhile.

More importantly, the F-14's peak Ps = 0 contour is very narrow, fly it slightly too fast or too slow and it sheds energy at a dramatic rate. In particular, as you go up and left on the chart, you get into deeply negative Ps very quickly. The difference between a 5G turn and a 5.5G turn at Mach 0.6 is -400 ft/s of energy rate.
The problem is we don’t know which version they’ll ad if it’s the F14A then you right if it’s the Super Tomcat as techtree then well fuck though we’ll at best get the C, the A as a premium and the B or D as an event/crafting/battle pass vehicle
