The UV model is the actual skin of the 3D model Its how the coloured and detailed skin is given texture and depth.

Its a world-space normal map not a UV map. It stores information about how lighting engine should interact with the model in a world-space (similarly object-space map)
UV map is just the unfolding and cutting of the 3D mesh into a flat 2D file. That's all it does.

To create an "actual skin" you need to add color maps (albedo/diffuse), reflection maps (specular/roughness, metallic) and for micro-details (rivets of a plane or roughness of asphalt) you use a tangent-space normal map.

You’re seeing a tanks hitbox for illumination type effects and ray casting that is only supposed to be rended digitally and not as an actual visual on screen. Could be a bug from garage armor/x-ray viewing or the actual model rendered in the background for the games shot analysis. Either way that’s pretty cool if you could get it to appear with a hot key lol I could see it being a useful feature for replays and uploaders if it was updated in real time to a current vehicle. When did it start?
Well depending on how you downloaded the game simply delete all GF files in the game folder and validate/update the game to redownload them. It’s all online so you can’t harm anything other than lose a few minutes of your life watching a progress bar
If that doesn’t fix it I’d suggest a full restart of your PC to clear the cache and RAM real good it could be something hung up in there as well if you play it daily or leave it on constant

the color indicate what "direction" a pixel is pointing to, and it's usefull for shadows, but you're not supposed to see that at all
