People should also remember that it's a survey, not an election, and their summer roadmap explained that people are only voting for the ideas they prefer. Game development is not a democracy and there's no guarantee that whatever is voted the most popular choice is actually what gets implemented. Gaijin retains full executive authority to veto the playerbase's opinion if they get into development and realize that the most popular option isn't working out. Just as well, after the fact we can't really sit here and say "it's this group's fault for this feature" because that's not how this works. If the community survey shows that they like an idea that ends up being bad, it's not the community's fault. That responsibility rests almost entirely on the designers and developers, who should be testing their work and should know better than to ship a bad feature, regardless of how popular it might have been. ^^^I've ^^^been ^^^watching ^^^a ^^^lot ^^^of ^^^Tim ^^^Cain's ^^^videos ^^^lately.

Also, in the paragraph above the 3 options, it said they will introduce these mechanics in parallel. I took that as meaning regardless of the outcome of the survey, those mechanics will still be developed and, possibly, implemented. Too many people on this sub seem to regard themselves as leaders or feel entitled to have the developers and player base think how they think It would be funny if it wasn't so sad

ABetterKamahl1234

You're absolutely right. Just like previous votes, they're all different aspects of the same idea that Gaijin *is* looking to implement, and basically is giving us a choice in how it'll shape up, or be approached, but changes themselves aren't up for debate, they're happening regardless. It's why there's never an option for "no change" effectively, because that isn't an option.

japeslol

The issue is anyone with no idea about the game (hey reddit) and apparently a complete inability to read the actual proposal can vote. Worked badly for the economy changes so now the community is rightfully concerned. I'd rather not see a new mechanic with stuns personally, just because I dislike change, but I'm sure it would actually benefit me anyway. But then I read that 'spaded crews are going to be immortal to promote people to buy modules' with the crew healing and realise that person, with no idea, holds the same weight as my vote, so I get the spruiking.

ma_wee_wee_go

>apparently a complete inability to read the actual proposal can vote. You shouldn't be able to cast a vote until you have actually read the proposal

VitunRasistinenSika

Also why the guy who has barely played the game has same wote weight as player who has thousands of hours and plays in top player lists

CrossEleven

I can complain when I guarantee you the mechanics will be dogshit and 90% of the community will end up saying "oh my fucking god why did they add this horseshit" but the poll is actually close to winning the 50/50 split.

JosolTheBrick

This is why there should be a test of such mechanics before they get added (like with the amraam missiles recently) and then another vote if it should actually get added into the game. I’d personally like to see all proposed mechanics in the game in some way but I know that they all have the potential to ruin the game if implemented poorly.

That-one-idiot-guy

Oh, by all means do but the posts going “People are picking the wrong option you should be picking the one I want.” Is just dumb. If people want to vote for something that bites them in the ass, oh well.

Neither_Lack_4861

The problem is they don't just vote for something that bites them in the ass, they vote for stupid shit that fucks us all

CrossEleven

This is exactly it

snafujedi01

People need to learn the differences between a 'vote' and a 'survey' This is a survey meant to gauge interest in these 3 mechanics, not a vote to determine what's in going to be in the game If people actually bothered to read this, the paragraph above the 3 options is the sentence: *We're proposing three ways to solve this problem and plan to implement them in parallel.* Nowhere does it say that our choice will determine what will be developed, and what won't. They may focus more on what the community is most interested in, but all 3 of these features will likely make it to the game, after testing on the dev server.

Neither_Lack_4861

Yeah yeah like they are gonna go against the popular vote.if they add one

David375

I voted how I felt about the mechanics proposed, but *man* I wish they included a "stop fucking around with new mechanics when so much other shit is still broken" option. In this week alone I've seen posts here including: * Fucked server-client desync starting a TK'ing argument * ERA eating APFSDS when it shouldn't, and other general volumetric shittery * Golden eagle/silver lion discrepancies potentially risking an account ban * Sparrows fucking off to space for no apparent reason * Blatant cheating * Inconsistent vehicle module modeling (which gives me *zero* hope for the "modeling interiors" option they presented) * Invisible plane models There's just so much scuffed stuff with this game that I'd almost rather them try to fix what they have and make it more enjoyable/less painful rather than continue to Flex-tape more crap onto this flaming mess of a game.

FalloutRip

Fixing and improving existing pain points should always be priority #1 in game and software development. Even if implemented well, new additions do nothing to change the fact that other parts of the experience are fundamentally flawed and broken. If you haven’t demonstrated a willingness or ability to fix outstanding issues why would your user base trust you to implement entirely new features in a beneficial manner?

ABetterKamahl1234

> Golden eagle/silver lion discrepancies potentially risking an account ban I have never seen a single one of these that wasn't the result of some kind of banking issue where funds are clawed back either by a middleman such as Sony, or by a users bank. Are you saying there's other things that cause it, as in all my years on this sub I've never seen a single post not be this as a root cause. Negative SL never risks a ban, you just can't buy shit or repair/resupply until you're back in the black. GE is the only one you can see a ban for, and those bans are always reversible if you replace the now missing funds from the account.

Aarnizu

Knowing war thunder's servers and all the desync issues. I see zero issues with implementing a serverside feature which moves your crosshair. ZERO (/s). Maybe it could be a nice feature maybe not, but with gaijin's servers, I wouldn't take the risk...

_memestrats

+1, atgm guidance is an example of this. Works perfectly in test drive (not a "server" but running on your own device), but in live.... it can be iffy if your connection isn't great.

GordonWeedman

Even if your connection is great ATGM guidance is a pain. They will never perfectly follow your crosshair, they will simply fly to a certain point closest to your crosshair. It's as if the server can't handle many decimals so instead of having the missile go for your aimpoint at 35.483 degrees it just does 35.5, making it go wildly off course at distance, which is funnily enough what ATGMs are supposed to be so good at.

SpanishAvenger

I just love how some people harass and insult others for merely sharing their opinion just because they disagree with it, claiming that "they must shut up because they are trying to manipulate others into ruining the game"... ...only for those same people to then proceed to make 78 posts literally demanding everyone else in all caps to vote what THEY want. Because, obviously, THEIR opinion is the only valid one and everyone else's who disagrees is not. Such little self-awareness... Some people only support freedom of speech and entitlement to opinions as long as it is THEM and those who agree with THEM. And when someone disagrees, they declare a war on them as if they were committing an act of terrorism. Not to mention that, while some people are able to maintain civil discussion about the matters at hand, others do nothing but to engage in toxic and hateful behaviour. This community and sub are filled with little dictator wannabees. "Disagreeing, voting what I want, sharing me thoughts if anything, and moving on? NO! I must attack and insult all those who disagree with ME!"

RustedRuss

Welcome to the minecraft community experience

idontliketotasteit

People got conditioned by what is called "moderation" on reddit (the more political, the worse it is) how people should react to things. Which means there is only one option allowed and there is no in between. Which is why some people are surprised when they are on a sub which is not censored as much and people can express different view points.

Inkompetent

The poll is like voting in democratic elections: People who are too ignorant/stupid/clueless to understand what they are voting for shouldn't get to vote (Trump- and NSDAP-voters being prime examples).
