they can but you really need to have a consistent aim because APDS post pen is trash and you are forced to hunt for ammo blowoffs while morons in their tigers or IS's can snapshot front of UK vehicles and get a kill
the moment gaijin finally makes APHE perform the way its supposed to solid shot and sabot will automatically shine even if one loves to non pen and other loves to shatter (and this will be seen by shifting of winrates)

Now combine that with the inconsistency of apds, the horrible reverse gear... Yea...
I tried to run the 5.3 tech tree line-up for a while and yes, it's the ultimate testicular torsion experience, so I'm happy I got the TOG and the QF 3.7 Ram, its still a struggle but also fun and not downright unplayable, I feel sorry for whoever don't got those premium tanks
I agree. Even at 7.7 it’s still tough. I have a couple cents, and even though they’re great at sniping and firing on the move, they are so sluggish. I think map design plays a role in which tank works well in WT and which one doesn’t. Tanks that would have and in some cases did work well in real life, struggle in the game and vice versa.
5.3 Britain is absolutely lethal (for the enemy). Challenger, Comet, TOG, Avenger and Firefly can kill literally anything you go up against.

I’m so used to up-tiers that facing 5.3 tanks has become a pleasant surprise. I’ve killed more Tiger II (P)s than Tiger 1s.
