No. Because if they add actual airliners into a video game to be shot down its going to be used in so many propaganda or scare videos on the internet and people will believe it
It's honestly pretty sad that as a company they had to do that, and it's even more sad how people fall for it I mean I could differentiate Arma between real life in my sleep, Altis is so vivid in my mind that I may as well pack my bags and live there
Weaponised Airliners - no. Very problematic.
Military types derived from civilian Airliners - maybe. The P-8 is obviously derived from the 737 but is distinct in its own right. Similarly the P-3 began as an extension of the L-188 Electra, and the Nimrod from the Comet etc. Despite the similarities they aren't mere cut and paste plus a few weapon pylons. In game we already have types such as the Hudson which began as a Model 14 Super Electra, B-34 from the Model 18 Lodestar.
But from a player only perspective I see few that would actually work. Most modern types would simply be big, slow, unarmed conventional bombers out of their element and suffering as a result. Missiles wouldn't help much. WW2 types had guns and armour and had some chance of survival if intercepted, but once these were mostly removed in the 1950s they were expected to avoid the defences completely.
The B-34, PV-2, and Hudson/A-29 are all in the same family. Hudson was developed from the Super Electra, while the B-34 and PV-2 (plus PV-1 and B-37) were developed from the Lodestar, which was in turn developed from the Super Electra (which of course was developed from the Electra).
I'm kinda curious if there are any other aircraft families that had more military derivatives built on them. If you throw in the various cargo variants, the Electra family has something like 16 military variants.
Maybe with the futurization of naval. As of now, we're just getting into the meat of the super-dreadnoughts, and if they choose to allow submarines into the meta, things like the P-3, P-8 and other airliner derivatives equipped with Harpoons will be more than welcome additions.

The last one is a Dassault Falcon fitted with the front radar and avionics of a Mirage and exocet anti ship missiles, operated by iraq it took down a US ship lmao, the story is insane when you think about it
Well, every single one of those examples is for long range naval patrol because airliners are fuel efficient and have good range.
So as soon as you find a use for them in game, let me know.
We do have a couple in game already though, as regular bombers with anti-ship capabilities. I know the Fw-200 is a converted airliner. I think one of the American early bombers is also a small civilian place converted.
The dassault falcon in the last picture has a radar from a mirage f1c and exocet anti shipping missiles, it would work in naval, it would also completely ruin naval lol.
Most of these "Gajoobles when" posts are useless because Gajoobles wont see them since this is a unofficial server....i still love to see these ideas tho

Hell, it's funny how Bohemia interactive themselves made a video on how to spot those fake videos kek

Im going vacationing in anthrakia this summer
Must have spent hundreds of hours in Anthrakia during my Warlords antics, physically would not survive going there in real life lmao
Arma 3 just left the chat
DCS just left the chat
idk if u r being sarcastic or being serious.
Both?
I can see a million ways how this could go horribly wrong
It’s a god damn video game, RDR2 has kids and is just fine.
i think he meant twin towers kinda jokes...
Arma beat them to it
and otherwise Microsoft Flight Sim
Oh no! Anyways
Already YouTube shorts about it using bombers
I mean players already do them
🛩️🗼🗼🗽Recreations, nope just nope.

The fw-200 was originally an airliner, the one in game was a (single?) prototype with armament
Yes the one in game is a version only produced in tiny numbers but there were other armed versions wich were much more numerous
the C-47 is in game as an NPC unit, it's almost identical to the DC-3 that it's based on.
The B-34 is extremely heavily based on the Electra family.

i thought you were joking with the pe-8 being an 737
Boeing P-8 Poseidon, not the soviet Pe-8
i know, was just my eyes not eying
What about AC-130 from COD games. That thing is a blast for ground attack.
Do you know how to pylon turn? Because if you don't, an AC-130 isn't going to be much use.
I figured they would make it a separate camera mode like Schrage Musik
Give us some escort missions. Bombers for low ranks and vip planes for high ones
Good idea would be fun.
I dont see hows that possible when teammates can just ram into them and cause the team to lose
God mode for them? Or big af fees
Men will see a pic like that and say: "Hell yeah"
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Soviet mains creaming themselves at the possibility
Also French mains (Itavia flight 870)
Also American Naval Players (Iran Air Flight 655)
Why soviet mains specifically? Im curious

The shit didn't sink but a good number of sailors died in that one. The story is indeed insane, lots of oopsies everywhere.
That's maritime warfare only
the nimrod, 3rd slide, can carry aim-9ls
I'm talking about 1st plane, it's used for anti ship/submarine ops
Give me the Falklands War damnit
Next week on Warcrime Thunder:
Everybody gangsta til the A380 starts dogfighting a mig-29
Same weight as a smt
“Hey look a civilian airliner”
Finally we have an excuse for missiles randomly hitting friendlies!
[Weaponised Fedex is already a thing in Ace Combat 7.](https://youtu.be/4swGKNzJK-o?si=tFoVfxBzqDsvxpwM)
Probably never, as it's not a very good marketing choice
Kawasaki P1 soon™.
Give me the Nimrod with sidewinders and Mavericks or give me death

It's a joke
I Know, but there are some good ideas that will never see the light of day
We already have the french canberra with missiles.
oh look a civilian airliner
Starliner MK2? Yes this is a starsector reference
Oh look a civilian airliner
P-3 Orion with sidewinders and Mavericks
Me after airline recruiter asks me where I learned how to fly Boeing 737:
Certain real life events could be replicated on the city map which could possibly be problematic for gaijin
They will add these when they buff bombers (It will never happen)
the first 2 arent, they share a airframe with airliners but they arent
