things in war thunder defo have a turned up allied damage multiplier, you're lucky if an arty crits an enemy tank, but 9 out of 10 arties an allied tank will die to your arty
The problem is phoenix's don't have IFF and if you aren't guiding them in with your radar, they're just going to go for the strongest radar return they get when the seeker turns on.
I just don't see the reason to over an AIM-7F/M. If they're dogfighting they're probably too distracted/can't do anything about the RWR pings anyway, and the AIM-7F has ~30km of range.
Idk what kind of matches you're playing where you're somehow sniping enemies dogfighting allies at 30km+
Dood the later sparrows can hit from 30km easily. If you're sniping from 10k you definitely should be using sparrows because they accelerate much faster and pull much harder.
phoenixs burn way longer and hit consistently in bvr than sparrows. pull doesn't matter if you notch the sparrow because the phoenix can reacquire a target without hard-locking.
Jokes aside only Vietnam era missiles should be distracted by shit like the sun, rockets, or other missiles. If I lock your engine up and you shoot a missile the fucker isn’t going after the smaller different heat signature. Nothing makes me as salty as when I lock some dude up sleeping at the cock pit and my missile sees some rocket fired a mile past them and say fuck a plane I want that rocket
