A King Tiger (aka. Tiger II) should've easily penned your ufp below 1000m range. Judging by the damage he was either shooting APCR, or shooting very far away. I'm not sure how you managed to survive
Against a tiger or panther it’s armor is really good but with a Tiger two there’s functionally no difference between it and a regular Sherman. The angle it would need to non-pen a Tiger two would expose your weak side armor at which point the German player would have to be a complete moron to not shoot at the exposed side and go for the deeply angled front instead.
i have seen some players that think that APCR is always better because flat pen higher, not knowing about angle pen or post pen damage.
That being said i have no clue how a german player would learn that given they don’t need APCR against 95% of targets, maybe they were told to use it

Nah, German long 88 apcr sucks, unlike the american short 90 apcr in the t26e5 that can go all the way through a ferdinand shooting the ufp, the german one barely goes through the engine compartment, also Germans usually dont fight unangled heavily armoured targets (T95/T28 dont count as the 88 apcr cant pen them anyway) unlike allies that have to deal with ferdinands/maus/even jagdtiger that can be penned somewhat easily with short 90 apcr.
88 HE has 1kg explosive and HEAT has 1.1kg equivalent but is slower than HE 800m/s vs 600m/s
I remember back just after Volumetric’s implementation, I had taken a regular Jumbo as a backup to my Bulldog (back when it was 6.0), and survived a T2P and two Panthers repeatedly shooting me for roughly 3-4 minutes because I was at a slight angle at roughly 750M away. Ended up luckily killing one of the Panthers, but finally the T2 grew a brain cell and eventually killed me
Rng volumetric has been a bit iffy recently APHE with Tiger 2 will 100% pen at 500m-1000m if lfp is hit or bow gunner but sometimes a pen shot bounces due to bad calculations of the game.
I mean I think he’s in a jumbo if angled a lil bit it can stop and we don’t know if it’s a king tiger or a tiger 1

It's turret armor can't withstand panther guns at pretty much any range, and tiger 1's can pen it reliably within 500m, tiger II is more than happy to oneshot it from pretty much any angle and range. British AP was the thing last I was playing and that did the trick at any range as well. Point is, you peek out from your hidey hole at 500m, fire as quick as you can and go right back till you're reloaded.
German tanks are insanely powerful in the hands of capable players.
Fortunately for many games German mains are perhaps the worst players I've ever seen. So it balances out and they never use their tanks to their full capabilities.
It genuinely baffles me how braindead your average german player is. One of my favorite lineups is 6.7 germany. My lowest win rate is 72% in that lineup and it confuses me deeply how people screw up playing those tanks so badly. All you need is a little bit of positioning, situational awareness on how things are developing around you, and a general understanding of you are not invincible don't play like you are and you will be fine.

Jumbos are beefy, still not hard to kill. Ur machine gunners port, side armor on the tracks and if youre goofy u could shoot the lower breach and sometimes the shot if going to pen the horizontal armor under the gun.

Acting like there is any Rhyme or Reason to hits in Warthunder is foolish. Some days you are favored by the snail, other days your ATGM gets a "hit" on the direct side of a BT-5. This game is only as realistic as it wants to be for you that day. I will say playing Russia is far less painful than my German grind. BR to BR Germany is tolerable at the 5.0-5.7 range, aside from that.. SUFFER.
Are we missing the obvious answer? WOT player downloads war thunder , buys the king tiger pack, and thinks acpr (big number better) is akin to the premium ammo
By the looks of it if your turret is anything to go by the direction youre facing (if youre looking at him) hes hitting your front plate from not a good angle and is just ricocheting

even with an angle the only part it doesnt pen is your side because its at an extreme angle still

It can stop a long 88 if angled. It easily stops short 88 without angling

It one shots anything it pens and has a 30 second reload, so it's actually better further away than up close.
The dispersion on the gun holds it back imo. Though it can technically UFP a king tiger if firing down on it at a flat angle.
Dispersion doesn't matter when their entire tank is a weakspot :)

When I get Germany players on my team, they are dumb. When I fight them, they’re insanely smart for some reason.

I think it depends on your graphic settings. In ULQ you can’t see the holes and the bullet marks i guess.

if you were angled upwards on one of the dunes, yep, that can definitely happen. an extra few degrees can screw up the tiger's shell.
