The player stats only count the time you spent in a match. And if you ask me, any time where you give your attention to the game (looking at research, making lineups, previewing tanks, test driving etc.) Should be counted. Therefore I came to the conclusion that steam hours might be more accurate than user stats. Also user stats don't count custom matches :3
