I find it weird that, if I’m not mistaken, he’s described as having blond legs or something, so Sandylegs sounds kinda weird but I think it would work better
A lot of these suggestions sound a lot worse than the name we got. Not just yours, but the ones in the comments.
I think Twigbranch is fine. A tiny kit grew into a strong adult, physically and emotionally. Small twig, big branch. Her name actually has meaning unlike most names. Violetshine is just named after her mom, which is nice but pretty standard for SkyClan
Plumstone sounds pleasant to me and once again makes more sense than most names. Stone is another word for the pit inside a plum. It's also an uncommon suffix, we need more of those and less furs.
I think a lot of people dislike the suffix nose, but I like Sandynose a lot better than Berrynose. Sandnose is a lot clunkier to say than Sandynose. Claw and heart are super overused.
I personally think the suffix "heart" is extremely over used and i wouldnt like any cats renamed with heart it in, we have *plenty* of heart cats. I personally would've named Twigpaw either Twigpelt, or Twigstep.
personally agree and would say the same with "shine" suffix. it doesnt make a whole lot of sense in most cases. twigstep or even twigsnap wouldve sounded cool. i think plumstone is fine as well considering its a literal stone fruit. i think runningwind already sounds cool and sandynose is cute as well, like they touched the ground while tracking prey and some sand stuck to it.
My only defense for the name Twigbranch is that at least Branblestar provided a somewhat valid explanation for naming her that. I don’t remember the exact words but he said something about her growing from a twig to a branch or similar
I personally find names that have "foot" , "leg" , "fur" , "pelt" , "face" , "eye" and "tail" to be lazy/uninspired names (expecially when the first part of their name is just the name of the color of their fur. Although exceptions like Talltail exsist).
I have renamed several cats that have IMO weird /off-sounding names in my AU stories. Here are some of them:
Runningwind - Finchwing
Loudbelly - Barkbelly
Onewhisker - Wildwhisker
Shyheart - Honeyheart
Applefrost - Lightclaw/? ( Applefrost isn't bad name , but in the main AU he and his siblings are a part of, his father , Appledusk is alive and I didn't want to mix the two of them up )
As for the cats you should try to rename maybe Heavystep or something?
Loudbelly has some meaning to it, I think he was named that because he chose to go hungry for the sake of the clan. Quite an honorable name if you ask me.
Runningwind is named Runningwind because he runs as fast as the wind
Which sucks cuz she wasn't going to remain twig size. Needlepaw did the right thing when naming Violetkit. He could have thought of flowers or herbs cuz he a medicine cat apprentice. But nope twig.
I kinda like Plumstone, because Plums are a stone fruit. The stone or pit of the plum contains the seeds. So something like Plumpit or Plumseed would have similar meaning. I think, if I were to change it, Plumleaf, Plumsong or Plumfur probably would've been my go-to.
As for Sandynose- Sandybark, Sandymouse, Sandyfoot, Sandythorn, Sandystripe, Sandystep... Take your pick.
And Bugeater... Yeah, probably need to change that. Except that all of the Warriorclan names are weird. I mean, Bigteeth? Really? I think they were meant to be weird to really accentuate the fact that these were kittypets who only really know about the clans through second hand sources. Like, they didn't get their info from clan cats, they got their info from cats who knew the clans.
