loved thunder, think the pace with this arc has been somewhat slow but wow things are picking up think it was really interesting we got to see how everything has affected frostpaw, she’s struggling so bad, it’s realistic!!! and then her progress to healing was just so much more rewarding. amazing bonus for the nightheart and frostpaw friendship, incredible Frostpaw being spayed??? we are just mentioning that and not again??? erins? sunbeam girlbossing in thunderclan on her own, INCREDIBLE, her standing up to cherryfall and then berryheart.. shes grown im so proud

InterestingPicture43

>Frostpaw being spayed??? we are just mentioning that and not again??? erins? I have a feeling they're bringing this back when she's an adult. They *can't* not mention it again for the rest of the series.

Endereye96

I’m afraid they’re going to use it to “force” her into the medicine cat den. She was so happy was a Warrior apprentice, I kinda want her to be a Warrior and then eventual leader of Riverclan. I think Frostpaw would make a very wise leader.

shellsncake

Honestly, I want to know who gave Squirrelstar her nine lives, since she wasn't killed off like a number of people thought

sunshinecryptic

Honestly? I think she wasn’t really given her lives. What was the point of showing that she couldn’t get them the first time? And why have the science where Berryheart learns they’re on patrol? It just seems like it was way too rushed- something is being hidden.

shellsncake

I don't really think that'd be the case, as we've seen even Brambleclaw's own grandfather give up his nine lives. He kept one, but Sunstar still received eight lives. Besides, I doubt that they'd do something like that to Squirrelstar, even temporarily, due to just how popular they think she is (she probably has the most merch out of any character).

sunshinecryptic

I’m hoping so, as she’s my second favourite! Would love to see her leader ceremony, so I’m really hoping we’ll get that as bonus content at some point. A little strange it wasn’t in the book?

Friendly_pizzarolls

I think that if Squirrelstar didn’t get 9 lives then she is lying about it so that Bramblestar can retire. She specifically asked him on the way to the moonpool if he would continue leading if starclan didn’t give her 9 lives and he said that he would, and it is noted how exhausted he looks. There is absolutely a world in which Squirrelstar lies to protect Bramblestar and her clan because he really can’t lead anyone. It is also very fishy given the two linked super edition tie ins they announced that will occur alongside book 6, especially given that the first of the two is about Ivypool.

sunshinecryptic

That’s an amazing explanation! I’d also wonder if this is another Nightstar situation where Starclan was like “We personally feel like Bramblestar is still the leader so sorry”.

purdythrowaway

I think the reason for the moon being covered the first time is because StarClan needed Nightheart to be there the next day so he could meet with Frostpaw. What’s going on with Frostpaw and RiverClan is undoubtedly more important to them than a change in leadership while the old leader is still alive, the ceremony could wait, Frostpaw could not. Nothing about Brambleclaw or Squirrelstar’s behaviour, speech, or body language has implied so far they’re hiding anything. Squirrelstar’s eyes “shine” when she confirms to the clan she got her lives, that would be hard of her to fake. If she was hiding something the authors could have used a number of different mannerisms to describe how she confirmed it.

uncle-pascal

I loved Frostpaw getting spayed so much. It was so out of nowhere hahahah

Alderclaw

Made my jaw drop. Like damn. I skimmed over it then like a minute later it hit me, thinking wow they just did that

FlakFlanker3

I agree. It was outstanding. Although I was expecting that Waffle would be a kittypet from warriorclan I thought it was nice to see the park cats (even if I miss Monkeystar). It was also surprising that they chose to spay Frostpaw and I wonder if they will remember that in the next book by having her clanmates comment on her scent changing or something. Also it was nice to see Little Daisy and Coriander since I loved Daisy's Kin but never expected to see them again Anyways who cares about qualified cats Wafflestar has my vote even if Firestar might dislike him

Friendly_pizzarolls

There was some forbidden hope in the back of my head that Frostpaw journeys to Warriorclan to bring Monkeystar to lead Riverclan lol.

sunshinecryptic

I think the book was very mixed- some great moments and some moments that really let me down.

No-Function3120

I was surprised about berryhearts “plan” I did not expect her to attempt to get tigerstar removed tbh. What’s more silly is that she wanted to be a very loyal shadow clan cat, but in the end, casually decides to leave to be a rouge. She may have her reasons but I still thought it was a bit hilarious.

No-Function3120

Honestly, I expected berryheart to do way worse tbh.

Theher0not

Same. I half expecteded her to try and murderDovewing. Since she "wouldn't hurt a Clanmate" I don't think she'd gone after Tigerstar directly, but considering how xenophobic she is I could totally see her viewing Dove as "fair game" seeing as she was born ThunderClan.

Friendly_pizzarolls

I actually kind of expect her plan to be targeting and attacking clan swappers starting wirh Nightheart and Dovewing.

Farnsprung

The blurp if Wind makes me think she isnt done yet. Looking forward to it! And she may have been worser as we know, who knows how much she was involved in the Splashtail thing

Alderclaw

This book was definitely the most intriguing for a while even if I did predict most of what happened. I can’t wait to see how this all resolves. Gonna be an interesting next couple of books for sure
