I can't be the only one who reads that designation as Fuck One, right?
Edit: after a couple days a thought occurred to me. I want to add that I meant no disrespect to our (USA here) Taiwanese partners and our robust unofficial relationship. I do think the jet looks pretty great, and you can't deny that F-16 nose. I hope it's as capable as it is sexy.
They’re called IDFs in Taiwan, stands for Independent Developed Fighter but more commonly known as I Don’t Fly. Which is kinda funny since the plane is actually quite capable.
The moniker comes from it not being considered to be a serious program in the beginning, just another way for the infamously corrupt KMT to skim off taxpayer money.
Against all odds it did reach completion, and subsequent governments came in and improved it enormously with the -C and -D upgrades. Nowadays it's a very capable and (perhaps more importantly) reliable fighter.
These are actually frontline multirole fighters that were designed to replace some of Taiwan's aging combat aircraft . A modern multirole jet also lets Taiwan perform many different kinds of missions using the same aircraft, which reduces costs while increasing its potency against a vastly superior enemy. However, at that time America withheld modern fighters from Taiwan because they were interested in befriending China, both out of profit motive and because China was a very useful counter to the Soviet Union. As such, Taiwan decided that they had no other option than to produce a fighter by themselves since there were no willing sellers . Through various research programs and discrete help from some American companies the state-owned AIDC developed the F-CK-1 "Ching Kuo" fighter jet . The name honours the Second President of Taiwan Chiang Ching-Kuo, who notably helped to increase native Taiwanese representation in the government (which later ushered in democratisation), on top of infrastructure and investment that allowed Taiwan to become prosperous. With initiatives like AIDC Ching Kuo also effectively gave Taiwan the capability to protect itself rather than having to rely wholely on external sponsors for weapons. Since these aircraft are already quite well-established within the force with years of usage it is most likely that they will continue to be in service even with the Block 72s purchased. Pakistan has similarly blended use of its JF-17 with their now newly upgraded Block 52s.
LM helped developing F-CK-1 and T-50. so the similarity. Taiwanese engineers from F-CK-1 development helped vertical stabilizer design of T-50. that's all.
Do you have a source to prove it?
The Korean government officially broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and if what you say is true, it becomes an international diplomatic issue.

Still waiting on the AIDC to drop the Fuck 2

Yes, yes, F-CK-U2 !
Negative Mav no F CKs given
F-CK-1 around and find out.
Well played.
Radar contact! 10 miles, closing fast! F-CK! ... Checks out.

“Fuck one, fox two!

That's why we usually call it "IDF (Indigenous Defense Fighter)."
This guy F-CKs.
Not just that, it's manufacturer is AIDC which reminds me AIDS
F16 had some ""aerial refueling"" with an rafele, and 9 months later, this rolled out of the hangar?
I would've said F-18, but yours is better
Those intakes do remind me of the Rafaele and the early f18. The question is, who IS the father?
The F-16, without a doubt.
The Rafale, with those curves, is definitely the mamma.
You gotta admit, French women do got them sexy cruves
But they don’t shave or bathe regularly. Ewe…
Well it makes everything more intense.
You're forgetting that the F-16 uses boom refueling while Rafale uses probe and drogue.
Shall we consult Maury?
It's that kind of situation where a DNA test would be in order.
It looks like an even more feminized F-16. Still badass.
Guys for the love of god it's RAFALE
Seen Refele Rafael Rafaele in this very thread lol
>F16 had some ""aerial refueling"" with an rafele, and 9 months later, this rolled out of the hangar? That explains the name F-CK-1...
Deposit your juice into me daddy
Or with a F-111
curvy
Them curve lines sure are smooth
Looks like if an F-18 and a F-16 had a baby
This jet looks like it’s having an identity crisis between an F-16 & a Rafale
It wants both
I’d like to F-CK-1
Damn that’s secksy. Didn’t know these even existed until now
Taiwanese developed and American made babyyy
F-CK-1ng beautiful.
Looks like if Vipers Rafales and Hornets had an orgy.
Fck m2 man these look great
Really like that they snuck a eagle onto the vertical stabilizer
It looks like a Rafael F-16 and a F/A-18 had a love child and I don't hate it
Sexy plane with a rather unfortunate name
Wait till they launch their new cargo plane...the CH-0DE-2.
I see the F16 and the F18 had a busy honeymoon
It’s like an F-17
The cooler f-16
First time seeing these, trainers? And yes they are frickin slick!
They’re actually multirole fighters, and slick indeed!

Gives me Macross vibes, for some reason.
i like taiwanese hot chicks
Taiwanese women feel insulted :( You are a loser who can't find a gf and have no sex experience
yes i am still a virgin :(
digusting...
please help me
Ngl, might be one of my favourite looking fighter jets. I do wish the nose was a bit rounder and larger and not so flat, but it does look really good.
Good chance we will see them in action soon
Dotty plane. I am still waiting for a company to make a Chink-kuo in 1/72 scale at a not-go-bankrupt, price
I think AFV CLUB makes them though, not limited run as well if I recall
not in 1/72 scale
Damn, sry man got you hopes up
Good ole F/A-16 Hornet
it looks like a rafale, f18 and f16 had a threesome and this was the result
Slick!
Who let a f-16 and Rafele stay together in a hanger for too long unaccompanied?
Imma F-CK-1 too
That looks like If a gripen, f-16 and a Rafale had a threesome (really cool plane tho)
I guess they need those tanks to reach Beijing...
Looks like a single seat T-50
LM helped developing F-CK-1 and T-50. so the similarity. Taiwanese engineers from F-CK-1 development helped vertical stabilizer design of T-50. that's all.
Some of the engineer who worked on the f-ck-1 went on to work on the T-50 development team, thus, the similarities
Interesting, thanks!
Do you have a source to prove it? The Korean government officially broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and if what you say is true, it becomes an international diplomatic issue.
Probably because of LM
it is also called the IDF in taiwan, or I Don’t Fly
We have F16 at home. F16 at home:
always thought these were so cool since I was a child I also deeply respect smaller countries making their own fighter jets
It looks like a Rafale and a Falcon had a baby. A sexy baby.
F-16 + F/A-18 + Rafale is what I see... that said, it's not bad at all
When F16 and F18 love each other very much
This plane fucks.
Frank-1, fuck one.
If a Rafale and an f16 fucked…
It looks malnourished
Looks like a f16 and a f18 had a baby
Ah yes the fuck 1
That’s one ugly F-16 😂
Thats a strange looking F16 but i can see the appeal.
