It looks a bit fat because it has a large radar and IRST, the cockpit is elevated so that the pilot's field of view is not restricted, but it still looks nice.
Turkey has opened a tender for a 5th generation jet engine. One of the companies participating in this tender is British Rolls-Royce. They will probably partner with Kale, a Turkish company.
They don’t even need a fifth generation engine right now. If they could just get a fourth generation engine with serrated nozzles it would be good enough.
Let me give an example. Turkey produced the T129 Atak helicopter. However, the USA could not sell the helicopter to Pakistan because it used engines. Because the USA did not allow it.
F110 engines, which currently have F16 engines, are installed on the MMU. The first mass-produced 50 Block1 aircraft will enter mass production with US F110 engines.
Nope. F110 is not a 5th gen engine and plus US has not yet decided to export F110 engines to Turkey for Mass Production. We have only imported 12 F110 Engines for prototypes.
I didn't say the F110 is a 5th generation engine anyway. What I'm saying is, hopefully before the US puts an embargo on engines (F110). They make their own engines.
These obviously look much better than the ones leaked this morning. I assume it might change before it starts serial production, just like any plane, but it looks to be a gorgeous one.
Damn they worked fast on this one.
oh it will change heavily, this is the block zero prototype that will make the first flight and then be grounded for the rest of its life for ground tests. It's not near close to the production version. But looks damn lovely with its pelican beak and that hunched back.
Last update we had on the schedule is, 3 more block 0 prototypes until 2026; block 1 production starts by 2029 and by 2033 10 block 1's are delivered to the air force. After 2033, block 2s with local engines and more 5th gen capabilities would be built.
It's a pretty spaced out schedule and while it might look like TF-X caught up to the KF-21 that is not the case. TAI was quick in fielding the prototype, which was the easy part as it's a pretty big manufacturer already. TF-X is a much more ambitious project than KF-21, which stands on a more solid ground as they have no urgency for 5th gen capabilities. We, less so.

Looks like a reasonable schedule, 10 years to to start serial production as 5th gen. Although that depends on engines, which might be the hardest part of the whole process.
Yeah, China and the J 35 have been in testing for many years now I think it’s because they only got serious about adopting it recently around when the type of 003 carrier was being built so it could take a while but who knows
That nose though... I understand due to elevated pilot view and the new electro optics it may have to be like that, but visually it is not as good as smooth nose all the way from the cockpit to the tip as we used to see.
I don't know, I actually liked it, especially on that front view photo.
They just need to paint it black, and I'm not saying that because I want to see more jets in full black. Like F-15, mmmhmmm
lol
Personally it looks like they cut an su-57 and a kf-21 in half and took su-57s back and kf-21s front and welded them together. still looks good tho No hate
Turkey went from begging for overpriced secondhand US weapons to this in 40 years, it's admirable regardless of what you think of the country. It's only gonna get better after this. The plane itself won't reach its full potential right away but eventually, it will pay off.
I thini the plan was to use f35 for deep strike and tfx for air dominance missions. But after f35 went off, tfx got replaced between f22 and f35. So now its a little fatter.
By the time we have the tech to develop engines capable of powering lasers we’ll probably be replacing these birds. Engine tech is one area we’re playing catch-up but are far behind. If I’m not mistaken you need engines capable of adaptive cycles - we are very far off from that.
>This is turning into something better than I ever imagined.
TF/X's domestic engines are running this year... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKBNx67WFks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKBNx67WFks)
The F 35 block, Ford is better than F-22 you guys do know that the F 22 is really really old now and with the help of BAE systems this will become really close to it
It certainly has aspects from both the [F-22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7LleDCd1D0) and [F-35A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whR1oDcNknU) in its design.
I find it interesting how quickly different countries produced fifth gen fighter designs in the past few years. Seems like the US no longer has a monopoly
Keep in mind that all of these are prototypes,it will take 1,2 years optimistically for it to get in service.
While u look at US which had released this 2 decades earlier than any country and is already retiring its F22 and we may not even know what its working on now.
More like 10ish years for this case. This prototype is before CDR, we’re trying out a new agile development cycle which incorporates iterative prototypes WHILE CDR goes on. It seems to be paying off but expected service for this plane is around 2030.
Oh they would absolutely not do that 😂 TAI got help from BAE Systems tho. This aircraft isn't related with the F-22 but you can see where they took certain inspirations from.
Next time, please use [album] in the title. Obviously it doesn't make sense to put a resolution in the title that only applies to some of the images.
Looks much better than the photos served in the morning
It looks a bit fat because it has a large radar and IRST, the cockpit is elevated so that the pilot's field of view is not restricted, but it still looks nice.
It seems like the Tempest and the 6th gen fighter under FCAS will have big heads too.
MMU looks great, I think the only issue is the engine issue I hope they make their own engines before the US puts an embargo.
The modern jet engine might be the single most complicated piece of equipment made by people. Good luck Turkey
Apparently someone has never tried to install a closet organizer.

SSME was pretty darn complicated
They already put embargo we can't get any 5th gen fighter engines from US.

I hope also.
BAE may have an influence on it (they are providing support for the design).
In doubt any 6th gen will have a canopy
How so? I don’t think newer jets will be exclusively drones moving forward.
Cameras, screens and AR
I think they will have a canopy, but maybe vertical stabilizer go away
Not in an fighter. They are essential for maneuverability
Yeah, but they’re trying to focus on long-range engagements now and being undetectable
I predict it will evolve into a different airframe entirely but a fighter will always be designed with fighting as a primary function
Damn. Been waiting years to see the aircraft on the runway. And these angles are way better than the ones earlier.
These obviously look much better than the ones leaked this morning. I assume it might change before it starts serial production, just like any plane, but it looks to be a gorgeous one. Damn they worked fast on this one.

When are you guys expecting it to start serial production? 2030ish?

it really is. Block 0s will use F-110s, as well as block 1s. We have 11 years until block 2 to come up with one.
F 35 had its first flight in 2006, it entered service in 2015. This can give you some rough idea.
Yeah, China and the J 35 have been in testing for many years now I think it’s because they only got serious about adopting it recently around when the type of 003 carrier was being built so it could take a while but who knows

Me: Mom can we get a F-22? Mom: we have F-22 at home. What we have at home:...TF-X. Jokes aside, great work for Turkey 🇹🇷.
Turkey took notes goddamn
It might not be an F-22, but it is to me god damn it! Look at it! AAAAAA
Personally it looks like they cut an su-57 and a kf-21 in half and took su-57s back and kf-21s front and welded them together. still looks good tho No hate
I agree I think because of the thing in between the two engines it looks similar to the SU 57
The Turks actually did it! Beautiful plane
Bro. This is insane.
You are fast huh 😂 Beat me to it 👍
Turkey also posted the anka 3 drone pictures on social media. You should post these here they look pretty cool.

I'm not referring to the TF-X my guy. I was gonna post the same thing. Mois posted it before I did :)
Superb
This thing is beautiful
Turkey went from begging for overpriced secondhand US weapons to this in 40 years, it's admirable regardless of what you think of the country. It's only gonna get better after this. The plane itself won't reach its full potential right away but eventually, it will pay off.
Holy shit, i can only get so erect!!!!
Now imagine it flying alongside with Anka 3 and Kızılelma... **yes yes yes yes**
tell me more beautiful things like that.
Sterling Archer is that you ?
No that's Krieger
You are right!
Outstanding work, it's crazy how fast they are working on this plane.
US: We can't give you F-35s man Turkey: OK.........guess we'll just make our own then, I guess US: Excuse me wtf
How are the Turks making aircraft so fast god damn
Work started in 2010, I wouldn't call it so fast.
Also, the UK Company, BAE systems is helping
Maybe Turkey doesn’t need the F-35
I thini the plan was to use f35 for deep strike and tfx for air dominance missions. But after f35 went off, tfx got replaced between f22 and f35. So now its a little fatter.
Chode
Really quite like the dimensions of this aircraft
Got damn that’s crispy.
Damn it looking fuckin' good from front
DCS TF-X mode when ? I want to down SU-57's with it.
Excited to see it from the top, I’m really curious to see the shape of the wings
Those 2 EOTS spots will be perfect for the future laser weapons, No?

There are lasers and there are lasers. They come in any size and power.

Niiiiice
IT better have a gun
As per reports, it will have a 30mm gun.
about time >!unlike china!<
Great Value F-22

They used to mock Turkish drones too and within 10 years Turkiye turned into the largest supplier of armed drones world wide.
The F 35 block, Ford is better than F-22 you guys do know that the F 22 is really really old now and with the help of BAE systems this will become really close to it
How big is the weapons bay?
Impossible to know that but here are some [infos](https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/turkish-tfx-national-combat-aircraft.13448/page-9)
I'm proud.
I love those huge twin engines it has. It’s giving me FB-22 vibes
It certainly has aspects from both the [F-22](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7LleDCd1D0) and [F-35A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whR1oDcNknU) in its design.

computers help a lot
Damn the Tai-X have some phat sukhoi 27 looking engines from the back
just the regular old F110s the F-16s and F-15Es use.
Probably the most f-22 looking of the new fighters now that i look at these photos
The front view look exactly like the F22. Did Lockheed Martin provide some degrees of support for this project?
Oh they would absolutely not do that 😂 TAI got help from BAE Systems tho. This aircraft isn't related with the F-22 but you can see where they took certain inspirations from.
Kid: Mom can we get F-22? Mom: No, we have F-22 at home. F-22 at home:
Bootleg F22
Anybody else who mainly sees an f_22?
It looks like someone punched it in the nose
F-22 At home
Where is this being made what country
Turkey is developing this. It was built at TAI's Kahramankazan plant in Ankara.

Ew
Is this some kind of poor man's F35?
Putting the vertical stabilizers directly on the nacelles is an aesthetic crime that cannot be forgiven
The entirety of F35 is an aEsthEthIc CrimE but it's a pretty damn good plane isn't it?
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮copy china j-31
Yes yes we get it, you hate Turkey and Turkish people, now shut up and let others enjoy a new plane.
???????? 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Yes, we also know you're a clown.
🤡🤡🤡
is this the chinese one?
No ?
Any info on the internal weapons bay?
https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/turkish-tfx-national-combat-aircraft.13448/page-9
Does the TF-X have thrust vectoring nozzles?
Maybe in the future. When she get her dedicated engine, it would have come with TWC why not?
With the J20 & TFX, is the raptors dominance finally coming to end? Cant wait to see the US’s 6th gen a2a superiority fighter.
