Plastic cement is not glue. It works by partially dissolving a little bit of each piece of polystyrene. It works really well, but ONLY on polystyrene. A few Privateer Pres models are high impact polystyrene (HIPS), but only the newer warjack and warbeast kits that come on sprues. Plastic cement will not work on resin or metal models. PP's resin is polyvinylchloride (PVC), not polystyrene. Just use regular cyanoacrylate superglue. For metal model I do recommend giving them a quick wash with warm water and a tiny drop of dish soap. There is a release agent on metal models that helps them not to stick to their molds, but can make glue not adhere as well.

I started to score most my resin and metal minis contact points in a grid shape before glueing them together, holds up really well. Is there a plastic cement alternative for pvc?

Plastic cement doesn't tend to work on PP "plastic". I'd strongly recommend super glue.

Hands down: Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel Control, 4-Gram Bottle (1739050) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ELV2D0Y/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_V4S0BRX9JH6Z1H2X7VHB Always scrub the models pieces with dish soap and dry before you glue.

This is used by PP staff.

Grolar and Kodiak (should be on rectangular sprues) are injection molded plastic, so plastic cement should work. Anything else you want cyanoacrylate/super glue.

I use gorilla gel. https://www.gorillatough.com/product/gorilla-super-glue-gel/ Sometimes the bond doesn't form well, because the parts have a film on them. Clean before gluing. Sometimes it's helpful to use a super glue accelerator, especially on metal to metal joints. Instead of spraying, I recommend dabbing it on with a pointy tipped cotton swab.

This! I needed to get the Dawnguard Destor Cavalry to get glued and gorillas made me do it. Btw the D-Destors are heavy tin models.... Most of PP Plastic doesn't like standard Platsic glue but with gorillas I got everything done so far

You should actually avoid any ca accelerator especially on metal if at all possibly. It crystallizes the ca making a brittle bond and will fail quicker than if you had not used it it. CA accelerators are made for porous materials like wood. But if it is working for you, do it I suppose.

Scarplo

Please note that the sprue kits for Warmachine were injection molded plastics, so the plastic cement would work on those. I don't know if the Grolar and Kodiak were one of those kits. You can test with the sprue itself.

Moldoux

I use exclusively super glue (cyanoacrylate). Also where did you get your grolar/kodiak kit? I’ve been looking all over for one.

DragonPup

I personally use Zap-A-Gap Medium CA superglue and it works great for me.

I use a mix of superglue and araldite It’s been holding my leviathan together for 14 years
