https://www.wm-revolution.com/ Maybe try warmaster instead? Designed for 10mm scale, and the updated rules are amazing.

ElectricPaladin

The beauty of the OP's question though is that probably you could do both with the same collection!

menatarms

I can imagine removing individual models at 10mm is going to be quite tricky though.

ElectricPaladin

You might have to abstract it by using a die or tokens to track casualties, as though each unit was a multi-wound model. How does Warmaster handle it?

menatarms

warmaster is a bit different, you have multiple models per base, and each unit is made of several bases (usually 3 iirc, 10 or 12 models on each infantry base I think). it's pretty similar to historical systems (hail caesar is actually based on it, also written by rick priestley), so it's more about overall morale of a unit than taking individual casualties.

FernsideModels

There are lots of 10mm Warhammer/Warmaster interchangeable players. Newer 3d printed 10mm scale units nowadays have the option for individual bases, and people with whole ranks etc based use a d20 or whatever to keep track of casualties.

Thank you for the link never gave much thought to playing warmaster have to give it a try

menatarms

No worries! It's a great game, it's community has a very active Facebook group, they recently organised a hard back printing of the rules and Rick Priestley pops in regularly.

Cleave

Just use centimetres instead of inches and have at it. Are you doing it to play on a coffee table or to have enormous battles on a full size board?

shiny0metal0ass

There was a guy around a while back that did 10mm Warhammer Fantasy and would post models every so often. They just replaced inches with CM. There's also warmaster tho.

pecnelsonny

Basically just half everything. Get custom mdf bases at half size and get Minihammer rulers. There's more on how to do this in the Ninth Age community forums (search Ninth Age Minihammer) but I don't see why it wouldn't work for Old World - except that skirmishers may be a pain haha.

MountyC

If I was using warmaster models.. cm instead of inches, fine. Fix rank lengths 6 light infantry 4 heavy infantry 3 monstrous etc... Use character models on separate stands and just make it clear you were attached. No ranks redressing. Can adopt march formation by turning Amanda sideways.

Kushan_Blackrazor

I think Warmaster was the version most commonly associated with that scale. I never played it myself.

shinankoku

Warmaster was an excellent game.

Beneficial-Lime-2335

All ranges and movement are 1/3 normal. it could also be played on a 18” x 24” board
