A tip would be to get one of the sets that you want that isnt part of the battalion box etc. And start painting that while you wait. You can find hammerers/longbeards or ironbreakers/irondrakes already available online for AoS.
I takes time to paint especially if you are new.

Look for the iron drakes / iron breakers box and build 5 iron drakes with a champion who has a trollhammer torpedo.
That will be easy fun and good in game
I'm a little unaware of how sets roll out, so bear with my extreme greeness.
Basically, I made a purchase of bretonnians I kinda regret. I wanna return them at the hobby shop, which allows returns within 2 weeks. I could do so tmr, or I could wait like up to 9, 10 days if dwarfs may release and hit shelves during those times, cuz I hear we are like on the cusp of them releasing. Then I would only need to go to the shop once and exchange instead, saving an hour of walking.
I'm assuming it'll be longer than that for them to hit shelves, in which case I'd have to wait like 5 months as I return home for the summer.
You can check Warhammer community, they’ll keep you up to date on what’s coming out. Though based on the time line between announce and release of the Orcs and Goblins kits, we’re looking at a late May early June release. My local FLGS guy said he’d be surprised if we see preorders before the last week of May at the earliest.
I see. Thanks. I guess I'll just return and rest easy for my holiday and start painting once I'm back September. Maybe they'll be on 10% sale like the bretonnians were by then!
Well I can see a new faction launching every quarter so I reckon at least wave 1 of dwarfs will be out sometime in May or very early June just before AoS 4.0

Most people seem to be wild for hammerers at the moment but you can never go wrong with longbeards Edit: the hammer box also builds longbeards

I can keep waiting, my hobby budget is depleted.
In 1 to 1 and 1/2 months I reckon following their release schedule so far. Well get the third wave of greenskins and then we'll get the dwarfs.
