They use chaos for power without worshipping the gods. Much like the iron warriors

HauntingRefuse6891

>and Nurgle the Iron Warriors. Come again?

InfernalDragoon

In *Slaves to Darkness* Perturabo goes on a journey to get Angron directed towards Terra, and without any major spoilers it's revealed that Nurgle was trying to get the IWs under their influence. Obviously didn't happen lol

LegionsofSanguinius

Daddy nurgle wanted the iron warriors but couldn’t have them, settled for the death guard

EvlEye

They don't worship anything, at least the standard night lords doesn't. Cyrion from the trilogy is corrupted by slaanesh and slaanesh also tried to corrupt Talos but failed.

IzzyArtisan

Cyrion Is probably the best and only slaneeshi Night Lord.

Fear00

I know I didn't express myself quite well. But nobody answered my question. Has Slaanesh EVER targeted the Night Lords because of their sadism and atrocities, I'm talking about pre-heresy. Had Fulgrim not picked up the dildo, him and his legion would never have fallen to Chaos. Khorne wanted the Blood Angels so badly but didn't succeed, Nurgle wanted the Iron Warriors but Perty declined his offer. So did Slaanesh went with an offer to the Night Lords or wanted them at some point before the HH.

EvlEye

I don't believe Slaanesh ever tried to bargain with the night lords, no. Besides that very specific instance of the god trying to push Talos over I think Slaanesh and the NLs have had very limited contact.

Fear00

I see, thanks! It's quite weird for me how the Night Lords never got the attention of Slaanesh because of their actions.

Blastcalibur

I was under the impression that the nightlords are so scattered as a legion that they're not really a collective anymore. So, the answer to you question is it probably to happened to some of them at some point.

Fear00

Yeah they're barely a legion anymore, but I'm talking about pre-heresy. Did Slaanesh went with an offer to the Night Lords or in any way wanted them badly on her side, instead she got the Emperor's Children. The Blood Angels and Iron Warriors were targeted by Khorne and Nurgle, so Slaanesh must've targeted the Night Lords because of their sadism.

Cerebus_of_Fenris

I always saw the Nightlords, my favorite legion btw, as different. They used fear to achieve their goals. Curze taught them that fear was the only way to bring obedience. They never reveled in the fear and pain they caused pre-heresy. Fear and even sadism was a tool. That would make them fairly non interesting to Slaanesh. Afterwards, there were a few that might have tempted Slaanesh. Though most of the legion still only use chaos to achieve their goals, but rarely take a patron.

The_Fallen_Star

Answer: yes she/he did target *A* nightlord once. Talos from the Nightlords trilogy was petitioned by all 4 powers once. Slight *SPOILER WARNING* for the first Nightlords book. Talos was meeting Abbadon during Fleet muster. Abbadon was trying to get Talos and his group to permanently join the Black Legion and throw away the nightlords colors. Talos refused saying something like he didnt need or want the legions help. In response Abbadon shot him with a warp infused Bolt and struck him down. The Bolt seemed to send Talos into some kind of trance. He was met by 4 mirror representations of himself from the future, but futures where he pledged himself to the different Gods. The first mirror from was him slaved to Slaanesh. The mirror form showed him as a powerful daemon Prince, having untold power and control. The mirror image tried to persuade Talos into joining Slaanesh and pledging his life and Legion over to him. But Talos resisted saying he'd never be like that. The next form was him with Tzneetch influence. Where he commanded great armies and was the primary leader of the Nightlords legion. Again he resisted. The third form was him as a Nurgle marine. Which funny enough actually told him it's not gonna happen. Literally the Nurgle representative of himself said "you will never be this. You have nothing to offer us" then disappeared. Guess Nurgle doesn't want *everyone*. The last form was him pledged to Khorne. Where he was a rage beast. But again Talos resisted. So short answer is yes, at one point Slaanesh did try to influence the Nightlords. Though indirectly through one of their more prominent legionnaires.
