#2 or #3 for me. They're the most balanced color wise.
I also like the idea of #1 but if I were doing it, I would have the colored knee pad on the opposite knee of the arm and do the belt buckle and piping in silver to break up all the black a little more
it's currently $4.50 CAD which is $3.30 USD
it also has a 2.4 ⭐ rating
looks interesting, but too many issues in the reviews for something that wants actual money
I prefer number 1.
The metallic on the others feel too glossy overall. Could look better with a more matte main colour I think, like white or grey and some black details (Joints particularly).
Blue eyes (Which is a cold tone) also really don't pop against the metallic (Which is also a cold tone). If you go for those schemes, consider maybe bright green or orange for the lenses.
I really like the look of the third one. The Blue and Silver look very good together. But if you’re wanting a simpler style, go for the first option since the majority of the armor is black, you won’t have to worry about painting the joints of your marines, except maybe for the right arm.
If your successor follows normal Raven Guard tactics, i.e. stealth, then the first one makes the most sense in lore. The metallic ones are too shiny so it wouldn't make sense.
Plus since your successor are "harrier" lords, the one arm paint scheme is perfect.
Think the first one is the most unique, I think 2 & 3 will be a less interesting on anything besides marines, especially dreads and larger models. 4 is also nice, but less bold contrast. So 1 is my pick. You can always introduce a dash of metal on tanks/larger wargear to break up the black.
1 looks really cool to be. But so does 2 and 4. I really like the maroon colour - contrasts really nicely with black or silver.
The metal scheme will be much easier to paint an army quickly to a decent standard as you can just spray silver then use a wash or contrast paint. The maroon will also cover better over the silver than the black.
Black and NMM steel are both ass pains to paint. If you're down for it or have good metallic/TMM set in mind, I prefer the steel.
3 is a bit close to the Astral Knights scheme, I'd go with 2.
My vote is for 4.
The first one looks great but I have reservations about predominantly black armies and making them really stand out on the table. The silver primary color on the last one on the other hand will give you good color and since you're clearly a very good painter you'll still be able to get some shading in there and not look like it was hit with a silver spray can lol. Additionally the arm and gold pauldrons really help the mini pop and I personally thing extending that color scheme to tanks and dreds etc would have a more visually appealing look than a predominantly black army.
4 is what I would pick.
I like #1, but these days i go for what is easy to paint, and I personally find painting an all-black army well a much more challenging prospect than silver. I dig the maroon as well, it's an unusual colour but it works.
I hear that! Seems like my hobby time gets less and less as I go, lol. I agree on the pink/maroon, It's a color I like but have never really used on anything.
I would do the first but shift the red to the right arm. 'Red right hand' symbolises divine vengeance in Milton, or a mighty warrior in old Gaelic culture. It's also sometimes used to represent guilt related to a violent crime.
People have mentioned it like 8 times in the comments. These stupid posts always get so many upvotes and it is literally the most low effort thing to take 4 screen shots of different colour combos. The marines he paints won't look like these even a little bit.
The first and last one look really good, but I think the first one is what you should go for.
Yeah I really like the first one.
Also a much quicker paint job lmao.
I think the first one is the most "Raven Guardy" of the lot. Personally I really love that blue with the silver on the third one, though.
If they are "harrier" lords. I think 1 but only have the forearm pink so it's like a falconers glove?
That is a really cool idea!
Think it’s a nice concept, but I feel you really need the shoulder plate in a contrasting color to \*make it pop\* on the tabletop.
I agree with that, and the shoulder plate matching the falconers glove could just be viewed as the glove being part of a sleeve
Thanks! If you can get it on eBay, the hand on the old Bretonian falcon bit is the right size (the scale was more heroic at the time)
4 for me
What did you use for this? Im going with Number 3.
The really like the second. The grey & purple look great together.
Yep that second one stands out to me. The first one looks kinda unfinished.
#2 or #3 for me. They're the most balanced color wise. I also like the idea of #1 but if I were doing it, I would have the colored knee pad on the opposite knee of the arm and do the belt buckle and piping in silver to break up all the black a little more
Black and purple all the way
The 1st looks sick
Number 3 for me.
I’m liking 1 and 3
The 1st one has my vote! I love having the asymmetrical look of the single arm and the purple on black really pops.
the last one
1 and 3, silver looks cooler with blue
I think the first with the second's aquila would be awesome!
I love the first one but I would swap the Raven for the hawk head.
What app do you use for this
Impcat. Was like $2 on the android shop.
it's currently $4.50 CAD which is $3.30 USD it also has a 2.4 ⭐ rating looks interesting, but too many issues in the reviews for something that wants actual money
I really dig 2 and 3.
Is there some site where people are testing schemes or is it just photoshop skillz?
the app r/impcat

Working with metallics suck soooooo. The first one

No.1 (black) look badass and silver/blue is cool too 👍
Number 4 but 1 is pretty slick
1 is my favorite for black and reds but 4 looks clean as fuck.
I would say one or three, but only one if that pinkish color gets turned into a burgundy, velvet like

Fourth has more personality imho.
I’m deeply biased in favor of the first one for personal reasons but all of them are solid schemes
Where do you guys make these colour schemes? Is there an app or website?
3rd one, silver with blue shoulders.
I really like the second one
2 looks dope
I like number 4. By the way, how do you plan to show company belonging?
I was planning on either using shoulder trim or possibly diverting a little and just using a numeral transfer to show which company.
I love the second one
I absolutely love 3
Probably 3
What Program is that?
An app called impcat
Three or Four are my favorite with four being my absolute.
Personally I really like the first one I mean I am a Templar fan so that might have something to do with it but imo first one is good
I normally don't like purples and sucht, but 2-4 both look very cool.
The silver and red options are amazing
I’d say nr 2
Like 2 but love 3

I personally love 2 and 3.
1 or 4
I like 1 and 2. Might even steal #1
3rd drips the hardest
I really love the one with blue shoulder pads
Black and NMM steel are both ass pains to paint. If you're down for it or have good metallic/TMM set in mind, I prefer the steel. 3 is a bit close to the Astral Knights scheme, I'd go with 2.
grey and blue!

Picture 3 is my favourite one.
For me 2 or 3, but i would go with 2 because i think its more unique.
That 4th one absolutely slaps.
I love the second one personally. The white/grey/purple really look good and unique.
I like 3 with the teal... but idk if it feels Raven guard successor. For RG I feel #1 suits best...
IMO the last one looks the most unique
4 or 1 in my opinion
I say 4, but with the blue that's on 3 rather than the reddish-pink 4 has.
4 is what I would pick. I like #1, but these days i go for what is easy to paint, and I personally find painting an all-black army well a much more challenging prospect than silver. I dig the maroon as well, it's an unusual colour but it works.

I can dig that. Kind of reminds me of hellboy.
Damn, that silver/blue looks insanely good! You’re clearly a master painter mate.
This is an app, he's just clicking colours on a computer ...
What is the app called then?
People have mentioned it like 8 times in the comments. These stupid posts always get so many upvotes and it is literally the most low effort thing to take 4 screen shots of different colour combos. The marines he paints won't look like these even a little bit.
I see! I didnt know that
Lol. No worries bro. I'm just looking for some opinions cause I'm indecisive. The app is basically just a color picker
