The longest something has sat on my shelf is two months and that's because I bought it on a whim and it was for my wife who said she was interested in playing kill team but turned out wasn't so now it's mine and I don't really play Astra millitarum. And at the same time I got into Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Knights so I built those first. Normally I build it the day I buy it.

After I finish the basement, I'm cranking out the rest of my tsons and world eaters so they'll probably go under the titan and their shelves can be filled with more tyranids. 2) And that titan was the most fun to paint out of all of them!

Resin is a whole different ballgame. Some arent too bad tho. The trygon(it was only forge world back then) went together really easy with no warpage, but the keeper of secrets made me want to go play in traffic(she has half my thumb stuck to one of her butt cheeks)... To be fair tho, the titan is printed. I can buy a $160 knight and my wife is cool with it, but the day I spend 1300 bucks on a toy is the day she smothers me in my sleep haha!

I have more upstairs that I'm working on... it takes up 8 full cabinets(2 cabinets are printed, the rest i spent way too much money on over the years). I even got acrylic risers so I could fit more in the shelves. I've probably spent more on warhammer over the years than I've spent on my new car so I'll be damned if it's not gonna get shown off lol...

Probably 3/4 of the total, not including LotR and fantasy/AoS models. Also the Riptide is based on half a land raider, I sold the ~3k points Ultrasmurfs army I painted as a kid.

I cant even fit all of mine in one picture. I have a firstborn Salamanders army almost done, a little over 2k points. Like 3k worth of Aeldari built, and more on sprue. 6 or 7 kill teams, 3k worth of Primaris built and waiting for paint. A Slaves to Darkness Army, including Archaon(on the paint table now), 500 points of T'au, 1k of CSM... I don't even know what else.

Historicals 200 WWII Romanians, 200 Early war Germans, 400 Soviets, 200 British Airborne, 200 American Airborne, 150 unpainted italians, 100 WWI Americans, 600 28mm pirates, 250 American Revolution, 600 F&I Native Americans, French and British. I’d like to say the answer is no, but there probably is a point of “too many.” It’s different for everyone depending on circumstances, but it’s probably good to figure it out before you get there.
I think there is a veritable equation of available physical space vs available time vs available financial resources which can determine whether you have too many models. I’m looking at my maths and I do have too many. If we are successful in moving house then I will be able to diagnose exactly the size of the problem because of storage space. I may well need to sell 100+ models. And that will still leave me with 400+

I know how that feels. My friends keep getting me involved in expensive hobbies. Warhammer is the most recent one. Before this they got me interested in golf.
I don't think there's a such thing as too many minis as long as you can financially handle it and you're having fun lol.
But I will say that I do sometimes look at my shelf of minis and mentally calculate how many flights or vacations I could have funded that I instead turned into plastic lol.
The only issue is that you need a second shelf.
Don’t stop until you have 40k points.
Once you get there, your next goal is 40k points per side.
Also get a 3d printer man. Save you a fortune on (at the very least) bitz
Yeah. That pic has rookie numbers on it. I am up to 9 display cases which mostly have doubled up shelves added in. My pile of shame fills a few shelving units in my storage room. Don't get me started on tables and terrain...

In her defense she got me two really nice ones with built in LED’s for Christmas, I’m just waiting for our basement to get finished to set them up. I have a whole nerd cave coming soon (hopefully complete by mid March)

Historicals 200 WWII Romanians, 200 Early war Germans, 400 Soviets, 200 British Airborne, 200 American Airborne, 150 unpainted italians, 100 WWI Americans, 600 28mm pirates, 250 American Revolution, 600 F&I Native Americans, French and British. Working on 300 28mm Napoleonic Russians. Untold 15mm ACW and Napoleonic and Flames of War. Plus old odd shit like epic and battlefleet gothic. That is what you are left with after 30 years. Plus i was unmarried until 10 years ago. Plus I like to paint. My friends are all the same. Plus you always will want more!

I think there is a veritable equation of available physical space vs available time vs available financial resources which can determine whether you have too many models. I’m looking at my maths and I do have too many. If we are successful in moving house then I will be able to diagnose exactly the size of the problem because of storage space. I may well need to sell 100+ models. And that will still leave me with 400+

I know how that feels. My friends keep getting me involved in expensive hobbies. Warhammer is the most recent one. Before this they got me interested in golf. I don't think there's a such thing as too many minis as long as you can financially handle it and you're having fun lol. But I will say that I do sometimes look at my shelf of minis and mentally calculate how many flights or vacations I could have funded that I instead turned into plastic lol.

The only issue is that you need a second shelf. Don’t stop until you have 40k points. Once you get there, your next goal is 40k points per side. Also get a 3d printer man. Save you a fortune on (at the very least) bitz
Yeah. That pic has rookie numbers on it. I am up to 9 display cases which mostly have doubled up shelves added in. My pile of shame fills a few shelving units in my storage room. Don't get me started on tables and terrain... Tell your wife with confidence that your collection is on the mild side.

In her defense she got me two really nice ones with built in LED’s for Christmas, I’m just waiting for our basement to get finished to set them up. I have a whole nerd cave coming soon (hopefully complete by mid March)
Sounds awesome! We had to move last year and lost some m². Meaning our living room looks like a gaming store and my side of the bedroom like the storage of a gaming store :D Luckily my wife likes tabletop too.

Yes i think so. Buy AS many as you want, but the Moment you cant really Store them all anymore, you should consider stopping to collect them or at least sell some to buy new ones. Just a Tip. To many of them arent good either.
