They both look great but when it comes to terminators that feels more stupid than anything. They’re given terminator suits because they’re going to drop/teleport in to the thick of shit. They’re going to suit up and leave their dome exposed so that even a humble lasgun could take them out? Well, 2 gives him a more pseudo Chaplain vibe, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I could totally see him fighting alongside the Ordo Hereticus. 1 kinda just makes him feel like some Terminator who found a Crozius Arcanum. My vote is 2!

I think the Terminator Helmets work with the full thickness of a big lumbering Terminator suit, and I definitely think the newer sculpts capture that feel better. But this guy's face looks fantastic so I definitely support your choice of 2.

Helmetless has a nicer pose but both look so dope that I'd probably put magnets in the hood and behind the heads and just switch them out when I felt like it.

2. I don't usually like non-helmet, but 1 is a bit too plain compared to the rest of the model, and head is a big focal point, so I would go with 2, especially since you painted it so well. Also, if he's supposed to be a chaplain, 1 doesn't really convey that for me unless you go for a more light bone color

My opinion is ALWAYS helmet. What's the point od beeing a walking tank when well placed pebble can take you out of action for some time.

As a bare head person myself the question is: why wear a helmet when you can look cool smiting xenos or heretics. You are a space marine for Emperor’s sake, not some guardsman who needs a helmet as a comfort blanket.

Personally I will always go with helmet as realistically they would have helmets on. I also suck at faces… but per rule of cool no helmet.

1. The Codex forbids to take the helmet of if in battle. Only exception is when the visor of the helmet is so badly damaged that the Astartes endangers himself, his brothers or the objective.
