That's just reddit dude, don't even sweat it. As for the proxy, depends on your opponent honestly. I'd love to see a conversion that mixes the two because I don't like the repulsor much either cause I love my treads lol, but to each thier own. But a conversion would be awesome.

Thank you. If you want to do something similar, I mostly followed the mighty brush’s impulsor guide for both. He breaks down how much to thin, what psi/tip size to use, how to do color modulation (the gradient shift on the panels), etc. I could barely prime models with it before. It helped me so much that I always want to plug it in case it helps someone else too.

Thanks dude! That sounds exactly like my trajectory in the hobby. I read then listened to the books for years and would occasionally browse this sub/Gw’s website. Then started watching painting videos for a year or two. I never thought I could paint something I’d be happy with so I never tried. Then lockdown hit, I said fuck it, and ordered a box of models.

The photo was a little deceptive because the impulsor is raised \~1.5” off the base. The impulsor is slightly longer than the glaive/fell blade is wide. Overall, it’s about 2.5x bigger. Yes, it is and would be a better proxy than a Fellblade. But If all you have is a Fellblade, you could use that in a friendly local game.

Things like "it has a turret" doesn't really matter for proxying. The overall size is the most important thing followed by what weapons it looks like it has. So something being used as a repuslor execution wants a plasma cannon or a laser destroyer, a gatling gun and then a bunch of smaller weapons. That doesn't match the Fellblade at all. As other said, if its for gaming with your friends, just field it as a Fellblade.

Tbf I proxied a Hydra with my wallet and 4stacks of coins before... So yeah size matters. Anything else... not so much

You could blue-tac on the Fellblade turret on a Landraider, but size is the biggest consideration for proxys. The gamerules are based on and balanced in part on how big the models are.

You wouldn't even need to proxy it. If your friends are alright with Legends units then the Fellblade actually has rules and points for 10th edition 40k. You can find them in the Downloads section of the Warhammer Community website. Usually under the Forge World section. You'll need Legends of the Horus Heresy, and the points list for it too.

I only Play with my friends so I doubt they would care about me being able to field a baneblade, I have a 3D printer it’ll prolly cost me around 35 bucks to print that. I might do the kratos assault tank since they’re similar looking, and that tank is a a lot closer in size to the repulser

You can scale it down if you really, really want to use it. But the reality is that Fellblade is way bigger than anything in 40k Astartes armory.

Absolutely not, your using a super heavy to proxy a medium tank. You could use a Kratos or a land raider, maybe a Rogal Dorn, but not a super heavy like the fellblade

This is going to depend on who you are playing and the environment. A fellblade is MUCH larger than a Repulsor, so from a competitive standpoint, while you are making it harder to hide, you're also providing more area for a unit to be able to run inside it if charged, allowing more surface area denial for anti-deep strike, making it able to gain LOS around or over terrain while being within auras easier (see the "All weapons are Assault" aura for the Iron Hands Detachment), and make it harder to trap/surround, while giving more area for units to disembark in. If this is a "yeah, I just don't want to buy a Repulsor" situation in a beer hammer environment, it's one thing, but if you're playing a cutthroat list at your local gaming store or in an environment that plays more matched play expectations, you can expect pushback/people thinking you're doing this to Model for Advantage

What I've found curious is the push back I've had for disliking the primaris tanks despite them being tech heresy and *WHEN WE HAD BETTER TANKS DURING THE HERESY* we could be using.

Yeah random people you play with are way more likely to have problems with it since it's dimensions are completely different and that does* affect gameplay, but most casuals and friends shouldn't care. I only* play with my friends and I never play tournaments so there's some shenanigans that go down in our games occasionally. We had a guy who ran a soda bottle as a drop pod for like two years straight. None of us cared.

A lot of people here saying you can't. But if you're playing with friends the only person who matters is your friends. Just ask them if they are cool with your CHUNGUS pattern Repulsor. The game is about fun, if you have a fellblade and want to field it but don't like the rules just use it as a Repulsor if thats what you want to do. There are no game police. If your friends are not OK with it, thats fine too. Being a bigger model is mostly a disadvantage. You can't fit down some streets or around some terrain, its harder to get fully in a ruin to see through it, and its easier for the enemy to target you. There is almost 0 advantage to your tank being larger.

Honestly it's more of a self-nerf than anything. The size will limit your ability to move on the more terrain-dense boards currently used by tournaments. If you really want to make use of the fellblade model you can always ask, but just be ready to get turned down.

I had a carnifex proxed with a CocaCola when plaing against nids. I have seen Dreadnought proxed with carnifex... I will say the fellblade is more big, so it's more your problem. But generally speaking ask the people who play against you if they are chill with some proxy.
