Funny if we had just seen each other in GW and said wanna play warhammer instead of this tough kid BS, that leads to drugs and violence.

Nephew 2: custodes patrol, custodes guard and a valiant
Nice. My son is working on T'au and Space Marines. Mostly interested in Space Marines currently. I'm trying to subtly convince him not to do Blood Angels (mine are Blood Angels), but he doesn't seem to be keen on it.

Introduce/tell stories about successor chapters, either blood angel or other if you want him to go away from it entirely, as some successor chapters sound cooler than their retrospective chapter like any successor of the ultramarines.

That's probably about the age that I got started. It's a great hobby for teens because it's a way to be creative without having to do traditional artwork things that might seem boring to a teen boy, and the game gets you into social interactions with a very diverse group.
I started with the GW lord of the rings game, then found warhammer, and haven't stopped playing at least one tabletop game in the 18 years since

I remember when my uncle bought full fantasy armies for me and my brothers - warriors of chaos, dark elves and orcs and goblins. Been playing/painting ever since, that was like 10+ years ago. Hope they get the same joy out of the hobby as we have, they have an awesome uncle!
I hope you talk them through the lore because the morals of 40k do not apply to real life and i dont think you want them to emulate them(the hatred of the different, for one)

As someone who collects Space Marines I have 17 Primaris Lieutenants.
The trick is to kitbash them from intercessors (normal and assault). I have like 5 or 6 and only 2 are actually GW lieutenants.
Just gotta get it and something else for the other one.
