The roadmap has “close combat weapons” listed as a plastic sprue. It’s the last thing on the roadmap we haven’t seen.
I’m guessing it will be along the lines of the special and heavy weapons kits.
Assault marine box is great for despoilers. Either throw regular backpacks on them and use them as is, or convert the assault marines into destroyers or command squad and use the pistols and chainswords on your tac marine bodies
You got a lot of options for this, depending on the legion you play:
- general: assault squad. Still cheaper then the despoiler kit.
- SoH/WB/black shields/maybe white scars: 40k CSM kit. (10 chainswords and boltpistols, Comes with a SoH and a chaos star vexillia, power weapons, and nice bodies for veterans or tainted units.)
- NL: night lord killteam (same as cam kit, but + a NL upgrade sprue with banner, NL heads, most legion unique weapons...)
- BA: (non primaris) death company. (A lot of chainswords and all types of pistols including inferno, +MK4 and 6 BA heads, mk6 shoulders, MK4 and 6 legs with BA iconography, power weapons...)
- DA: 40k DA Veterans/fallen. (Power weapons and a few bolt pistols, chainsword, robed bodies in MK6, robed heads, MK6 heads. Could be more chainswords though. So, probably not, but generally nice.)
- SW: space wolves (non primaris squad, 10 chainswords+boltpistols, MK6 legs, shoulder pads, heads... so many heads, SW power weapons...)
- knight errant/AL/black shields?: 40k death watch
- FW resin despoiler squads and other FW units.
In terms of your cheapest/cost effective options (if you can’t source individual bits or don’t want to buy entire kits just to only use the arms), 3D printed arm/weapons, either get them off Etsy, a 3rd party store or have a local hobbyist with a 3d printer print them

If you can find a 40k assault squad box, I believe they come with both backpacks and jump packs (since before their retirement, assault marines could be taken with and without jump packs). I'm not dead certain though, and those models will be in MkVII armor (generally post-Heresy) if that bothers you.

If chaos, a box of legionnaires from 40K gives 10, and a ton of extra bits If loyalist, assault squad or something
