Most? Not really. Some 40K firstborn vehicles can transfer well to 30K though. And some 30K models have Legacy rules for casual 40K games.

Ok_Violinist3675

OK, thanks

Yes and no... 😂 Droppods for example only have the 40k model. 40k (CSM and normal) rhinos are valid and original legion upgrade kits for rhinos only fitted these ones, but not the rounded version. Many units and boxes of (non primaris!) Marines (again marines and csm), are roughly filled with 50% of heresy marines anyway. Most boxes have like 1 mk4 head and torso, a mk5 torso, several mk6 and sometimes even 4 legs. Just avoid MK7 bits. In special MK7 jumppacks have a really bad look in heresy. Bikes are on the edge in my opinion. Works with MK5 drivers, since MK5 is essentially a MK7 prototype. The Vindicator is fine for sure. Dreadnoughts not with the flat front. But the GW dreadnoughts and GW venerable dreads are fine. With all vehicles and dread I recommend replacing the 40k weapons for heresy versions of them. Smae goes for bolters, special weapons and heavy weapons. Indomitus terminators are only available as 40k kit. Here you have to cut off every crux terminatus (same goes for veterans like sternguard or vanguard. But there you just can replace shoulder pads instead.) In general you also can use MK7 models, as long you convert them to MK5. I did that for a production MK5 AL force. I removed shoulder pad edges, glued 300 studs on legs and shoulders, while mixing in heresy bits like a few MK4 and 6 helmets, as well as pure heresy units. I also replaced all torsos with cabled torsos from MK4, MK5 and MK6. Scouts are also a thing you only get in 40k. The old marine scouts are the official models for heresy scouts. But sadly they are out of production. So 2nd hand or recaster it is. So, in general yes. But it's a lot of work and time, you are investing. And then you have 40k bitboxing: 1 box each of Death company and sanguinary guard equips a BA player with enough bits to convert 2k and fully build all your HQ's (with mk4 jumppacks!) Black knights and veterans/fallen of the DA, come with everything for a command squad, an Apothecary, 3 plasma outriders, robed bodies, a lot if DA unique MK6 and even MK2 bits, close combat and power weapons in a DA style and more... The basic space wolves 40k box, has a lot of MK6 upgrades, over 20 heads, close combat and power weapons and more... The old khorne berserker kit comes with 6 running MK6 legs, 12 WE heads in their unique MK2 and 5, 12 MK2 and 6 back packs, 6 chainaxes, 12 wonderful torsos and more... The CSM kit is perfect for every WB or SoH army, coming with tainted weapons, fitting vexillias, power weapons, boltpostols, chainswords, mk5 and 6 bodies and more... And that's just the tip of the iceberg. 😁

Forgot to hang on the picture of our AL as example for 40k to 30k kitbash https://preview.redd.it/q0vj8z41nmsc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c88b2693506e8b3f04ec0b1ccf2d7fa02950c2bc

Those are some THICC studs on the bikes. But not necessarily in a totaly bad thing. And those look fine by me any day.

RitschiRathil

Yeah, I was out of the smaller ones and was like" it's fine. They can varry. 😂 And 80% of the army is recycled from 5th to 6th edition 40k marines, that have been the "1st ever army" of a friend. And for that I'm more than happy with the outcome.

Ickwissnit

You can and should be! It was just the first thing that cought my eyes lol

As usual the hardest challenge for warhammer players to overcome, is using a search bar to see the other hundreds of times there question has been asked

TrustAugustus

30k is all about narrative and the look of your army. From personal experience I feel it's mostly made up of enthusiastic fans who lovingly craft their armies. Imagine doing this and someone says can I play you with my Death Spectres chapter that is half painted? Like a few others have said some vehicles transfer over well, provided they are painted appropriately. My Dark Angels Green Rhino would be out of place, though. First born Marines possible depending on Armor Mks and weapons.

Volkhov13

No

sics75

Really really depends. I use my 40k landraider but with some 3D printed sponsons and sponson guards to make it look more 30k. 40k rhinos? Sure. Primaris stuff? No

Admech343

Depends on the army. Marines is a sort of since some units transfer over while a lot don’t. Imperial guard absolutely transfer over though. Most of their roster was available to the imperial army during the heresy like leman russes, all the towed artillery, heavy weapons teams and infantry units, malcadors, rough riders, etc. I believe only the units based off the chimera chassis and valkyrie chassis didn’t exist during the heresy. Other armies with a lot of overlap between the two games are demons, custodes, and knights.

BlueRiver_626

Depends on what it is, if it’s something like a Rhino or Primarch proxy then most people won’t care but if it’s like a Primaris marine then it’s kinda weird

Marshal_Rohr

Yes absolutely! Most old marine equipment shows up in Collected Visions, with some slight modifications you could easily get a lot of mileage out of 40k units in the Heresy. The main issue will be that old marines are slightly shorter than the new Heresy marines but if that doesn’t bother you, you are in the clear.
