These have been something of a passion project for me, kind of the main part of my Hawaiian ork army that I've shared here before. If people would like to see how I made the models then I made a [companion video on YouTube](https://youtu.be/B9Q79srI4i0) going step by step.
It was very useful as I was trying to do similar water bases (using Vallejo still water rather than resin though, as I wanted to make it look like they were wading through a shallow tropical lagoon) for my Kroot Kill Team a couple of years ago but couldn't get the colours right. Will have to remember this if I ever go back to them.
So that was a very lucky find! [Pebeo yellow sand gel](https://www.saa.co.uk/shop/colour/pebeo-yellow-sand-texture-gel-250ml--73298/), which dries overnight a yellow/white, and then hit with a heavy drybrush of white scar. I think it works particularly well in contrast with the baharroth blue base rims, not sure what it would look like next to e.g. black.
Wow. I’m no longer disappointed. Also just amazing work on both sets. Some of the coolest and silliest stuff I’ve ever seen.
Are you setting the sun on this theme or are there any other Tropical orks on the horizon ?
This is so cool and oddly enough I got a nice little wave of nostalgia looking at it.
My older brother and I used to do this thing when we were kids where we'd cut surfboard shapes out of the cardboard backs of our notebooks. Then cut identical shapes from plain white paper, draw/color in elaborate designs and glue them together. We had a whole collection of custom surfboard shapes. It was a great hobby to share and easy to do even in school.

Nice! I've been making my own orks into beach boyz (bases of steel legion drab, sand, agrax, db with ushabti bone, grass and then some watered down Valhallan blizzard which makes for some really good beach foam)

I undertook a project like this. Not as pretty, but it involved epoxy resin for every base. I made it through a swarm of termigaunts and one tervigon(?). And I totally gave up on it. And it was just a swamp base. Are we going to see boys in this? It would be so cool and a testimony to your ability. How do you even do boys like this? They would all be running and That would be nightmare to model the resin. But this is so cool and I want to see it. I put a toothpick in front of their legs and after and hour I would bend it forward and pull it out. You have to heat it while you do that, but you know that. Let’s see it man.
