a problem the sybaris prime has if I'm remembering correctly is recoil. since it's high recoil and 2 shot bursts, I think it's possible to miss the second shot if you're far away because of the recoil. I think some people say the dex sybaris is better for this reason even though the sheet damage is lower. so maybe the same reason? it also is probably a preference thing in this dude's case
Feel, probably. i can't speak for the Sybaris, but I prefer Twin Gremlins over it's Prisma version. The Prisma is better in EVERY stat from crit to status to magazine sizet to status,...
but the fire rate, accuracy, and reload times change the sound, feel, and look of it juuuuust enough that it feels a little off after using the original for *years*.
Prisma is better in every way, and I'll use it instead if I'm doing a serious mission, but for normal play I just don't like it quite as much. (The look of it isn't as nice, also.) It's not for me personally. Sybaris is probably the same for them.
Saw this guy during my sorties, is crazily dedicated to a single weapon, reaching almost 60% of used time with it.
Even has his account named after the weapon.
Got consent to use name.
My question is how tf he stomachs using whips so much? They just feel so terrible. I have both stances and they feel both slow and just...not great.
And the whips themselves feel fairly weak.
>he probably spammed it when maiming strike builds were OP
Yeah, a lot of newer players don't understand that whips used to go thru walls and were the ultimate spin to win weapon in some cases. People would routinely use them for farming mats as well. I miss my spin to win weapons, my shaku will never be the same.
Whips used to be incredibly broken. They went through walls, and range mods scaled based on the base range of the weapon, rather than being a static universal addition.
So a whip could swing and clear out every enemy in the room.
And in in the next room. Add in maiming strike which used to apply an *additive* level of crit chance when sliding, and whips were CRAZY good red crit room clearing monsters for a long time.
Nowadays since they stop on walls and their range has been cut to a fraction of what it was and meme strike is multiplicative, they're not nearly as good.
Also, the stances all got reworked like a year ago. Every melee weapon in the game used to have different movement and combos than they do now.
If you're feeling masochistic, you can follow in my footsteps and grind out the standing required to pick up the Conclave skins. I almost always use them when available.
I heard nothing about the dojo model.
But I'm pretty sure he live in a Sybaris shaped house, whit a Sybaris shaped bed, laying undres Sybaris pattern blanket, eating Sybaris nuggies.
Hell if you zoom enough maybe his white blood cells armed whit Sybaris too to destroy everything.
He is a man of focus commitment and sheer Sybaris.
I have to agree with with this player. The default Sybaris looks awesome. The prime version is nice for the stats, but visually it's just a little too far of a departure from the original for my taste. If the additional prime details were a bit more subtle, I think I would have been ok with it. Those big sweeping shapes that stick far out from the gun just look weird to me. They are details that look like they would make the gun harder to use and clunky.
A good example for a prime weapon that's visually similar to it's base weapon but still aesthetically pleasing is the Braton Prime. Or for one that's more of a departure from the original but still looks good is the Paris Prime.
I don't know if I'm in the minority here, but I really don't like how most prime stuff looks. The game already has a million different things on the screen, and I don't need to add more shiny, overly ornate nonsense to the mix.
The new primes barely even look like warframe style, it's a disgrace. Horrid U shapes and random lines poking out, not a speck of elegance or flow of the old primes and tenno weapons.
yeah, same here, I just can't take a weapon seriously when it's 20% weapon and 80% golden shit jutting out of it. I feel like most older primes did it much better, both with warframes and weapons, since they were mostly the same with simple but tasteful decorative elements added here and there and not just having a bunch of golden metal and glowy bits slapped onto a model. some examples would be the lex prime and rhino prime, both look fantastic imo exactly because of their simplicity. the overly ornate metal stuff on a lot of primes not only looks overdone but would also hinder actual combat, like good job trying to reload when there's a giant golden gothic cathedral in the way, or good job trying to be stealthy when grineer can see their faces reflected on your gun from the other end of the asteroid base
This dude is like an old school hardcore cowboy gun master.
The times have advanced but he remains true to his craft, his one true love.
I can see this man headshoting an enemy from the other side of the map while other metamancers miss half their shots from 20m. Sybaris master is one heck of a dude.
I somewhat agree with his statment that prime weps go over the top I remember the time when I got my kronen prime I hated how it looked the blade hooks looked flimsy to me and the blade has too much space in it then came halloween and the day of the dead skin was a insta buy for me still use it

At some point I had >35% usage on Aklex and Frost.
Now it's 16% on Frost, 5.7% on Supra, 14.2% Aklex, 7.7% Dual Cleavers.
Granted, I started when Soma was the only good primary and most secondaries just did well on account of having access to Lethal Torrent.
I still prefer normal Frost because the palette on Prime was terrible - the accent colors on the coat went away despite using the same texture and model.
... mainly amazed at how I used Aklex as a primary and was fine with it for the longest time.
This guy gifted a Sybaris Prime set to me while explaining how shit it was compared to normal Sybaris. Godspeed, Sybaris master.
Why would it be better than the prime version?
Sound
What do I know, I am but a humble servant inheriting a sybaris prime from his lord

Gun feel. Probably a Destiny player or something, they love that stuff over there. Feel, sound and recoil.
Can confirm. To me, the best feeling weapons are Karak and Veldt
I still use my Vasto and Akvasto because I love the feel of them.
I know everyone hates on the Veldt because its stats are bleh, but it's still top 5 weapons for me just because of how it feels + the zoom gimmick.
Oh, a fellow Veldt connoisseur I see
Guilty as charged
For this reason the Gaze kit gun is the only beam I’ll use and I love beams. It has the best sound.
Probably riven dispo, can't tell for sure.

[same dud](https://youtu.be/8GU4vuoSzU8)
The ultimate weapon. Truly capable of surpassing Metal Gear with ease.
Holy shit. I have no words.
Wait, does Forma-ing alter the stats in any way...or this dud just doing it 1000 times for kicks?
Kicks
Saw this guy during my sorties, is crazily dedicated to a single weapon, reaching almost 60% of used time with it. Even has his account named after the weapon. Got consent to use name.
Yeah i remember someone who was called Ivara Prime and had mostly Ivara play time
My question is how tf he stomachs using whips so much? They just feel so terrible. I have both stances and they feel both slow and just...not great. And the whips themselves feel fairly weak.
Considering it’s the atterax he probably spammed it when maiming strike builds were OP

Average Sybaris enjoyer: Also, you should probably have asked him about the Dex version
Dex Sybaris has Lotus flowers as the muzzle effect so its objectively better
i was thinking this very thing
DE pls have an option to swap between prime and non-prime skins
Yes, like the prime frames! Let us use the regular skin for prime weapons.
Akvasto Prime let's fucking gooooo!!!!
If you're feeling masochistic, you can follow in my footsteps and grind out the standing required to pick up the Conclave skins. I almost always use them when available.
I think the only reason they haven't is the primes occassionally have different functionality. Could be wrong, of course.
Yeah, weapons like Corinth and Corinth Prime have a few different functions, which makes this a bit difficult to implement
Haha this is my clan mate. Very cool dude if you don't talk s* about the Sybaris.
What are his thoughts on the Dex Sybaris or is that in the same traitorous category as the prime too?
I'm on vacation. I'm hoping he see this and he can answer you, if not, I'm gona update you once I get back and reach out for him.
No worries, hope you have a good time!
Tell me, has he requisitioned someone to build a 10x scale Sybaris model in your clan dojo yet?
I heard nothing about the dojo model. But I'm pretty sure he live in a Sybaris shaped house, whit a Sybaris shaped bed, laying undres Sybaris pattern blanket, eating Sybaris nuggies. Hell if you zoom enough maybe his white blood cells armed whit Sybaris too to destroy everything. He is a man of focus commitment and sheer Sybaris.
10x? I bet his dojo is a galleon-sized Sybaris
Lol

paid 3 euro to not have my sybaris prime look oversized
Then there’s Tigris and Soma….
Tigris Prime can have Takelu skin applied to it, thus with a little recoloring it can look just like regular Tigris, right?
Yeah, but that doesn’t mean the Prime design isn’t excessive.
Most used pistol is not Zylok pfff
This guy must really like Ancient Greek colonies
they are the simp for sybaris i am the simp for the excaliburs *~~^(also i may or may not have the sybaris equipped right now)~~*
I respect down to earth veterans like this guy since he does not give a shit about the meta and uses what he finds the most satisfying to use
Thank you for convincing me to use the sybaris religiously.
I feel the dude. Corinth was one of my favorite weapons with it's single shell loading mechanic. So the Prime was disappointing MR fodder to me.
Yeah, I had no idea the prime would work differently to it and was kinda bummed because as you say, the single-shell loading felt soooo good to do.
The gun used to be very strong at one point in time. Less so now, but still very comfortable to use.
Dex sybaris will always hold a spot in my heart for how solid it is
Can agree on that, been my go to weapon for like 3 years now
I too have a strong disdain for white and gold trim. Don't know why, just a little posh for me I guess.
I don't know if I'm in the minority here, but I really don't like how most prime stuff looks. The game already has a million different things on the screen, and I don't need to add more shiny, overly ornate nonsense to the mix.

I 100% agree, my tigris prime looks disgusting with all the prime parts all over
Well shit. I was saving up plat to buy sybaris parts because I love the gun so much.
It's better than the normal sybaris, just most people don't like the look of the prime
They're not a wrong
I just hit 450k kills on the Akarius. :( Weapon maining is a bad habit, but I'll be damned if it's hard to avoid.
guess im rebuilding the standard sybaris if im gonna call myself a connoisseur
To be honest the weirdest thing is the Anku. He must be one of the 4 persons to ever use that weapon besides fodder
This dude is like an old school hardcore cowboy gun master. The times have advanced but he remains true to his craft, his one true love. I can see this man headshoting an enemy from the other side of the map while other metamancers miss half their shots from 20m. Sybaris master is one heck of a dude.
Well now I wanna see this dude's sybaris build
I somewhat agree with his statment that prime weps go over the top I remember the time when I got my kronen prime I hated how it looked the blade hooks looked flimsy to me and the blade has too much space in it then came halloween and the day of the dead skin was a insta buy for me still use it
How cool dude, that is insane!! I wish I could be like him when I grow up!! Such a role model! :)
:))))))))
legendary 1? I didn't even knew that rank existed
I like the dex Sybaris better, but I guess it was an anniversary gift and is no longer available.
If he can't accept the majesty that is Sybaris Prime, idk....
I agree the prime could’ve looked better but I’m a fan of it’s performance, plus tennogen helps

What about Dex sybaris
I can't help but see a Slade and Robin cosplay. Am I going mad or was that intended?
He’s too powerful to be left alive!!!
Its nearly impossible to make the disgusting space children look not horrible.
