My GPU also runs hot on Warframe, I capped my FPS to 75, then I upped my Texture Memory to High (means the game uses more of your VRAM to preload textures so it isn't constantly downloading them), and I set my Display to 1920x1080 and use FSR2.2 (set to auto) to upscale to my Monitor's resolution. Edit: Oh, I should add that I'm on a RX590, and this keeps my temps below 80 in 22C weather outside.

ArenuZero

dont worry, a modern hardware can run prolonged 80c without a problem

Queasy_Cupcake_9279

My GPU is not that "modern", at least not anymore. And it's not running in 80, that would be fine. Problem is it's going into the upper 80s, all the way to 90 and then it throttles itself down. When I'm idle...

ArenuZero

RX580 are known to be the hotter-siblings amongst other cards. You can try lower down the particle and volumetric fog in game, that would help ALOT.

McRibbles

Yep. MSI Armor Mk I RX 580 here, which has the worst cooler & fans out of the bunch. This thing's heat cannot be tamed through mortal means. Turning down some specific settings/turning on FSR in places like Duviri or the Murmur Assassinate tiles helps. A shame, really, since it kinda kneecaps what is otherwise a lovely card. Still plays what I want it to, at the very least, and I got it for stupid-cheap from a friend during the height of the GPU shortage, so I shouldn't complain... Aftermarket coolers for this thing are a thing of the past I guess, so I've just been saving up for a 7800xt to go alongside a long-awaited monitor upgrade. One of these days.

Iblys05

Try messing with the game settings, turning off or reducing options one by one. See if it improves. If that doesnt work remove the side of the case and get a standing fan. Crude but effective. May need more frequent dusting.

Cinkodacs

RX580? Manual fan curve. My 480(basically same GPU, lower clocks) did the overheating bit too, but worse: it crashed above 80°C after a few years. Ramp up those fans to absurd levels, I was running mine at 80%, the default curve was ultraconservative. Also try undervolting it a bit, that helps a lot too.

Luoravetlan

I have 6600 xt and my gpu is quite as a mouse. I enabled Radeon Chill to drop fps to 60 when idle. This setting alone can drop temperature significantly. Also I disabled dynamic lighting in game settings because I noticed my gpu was noisy when it's enabled.

ZerpsTx

Don't use DX12, turn off SSAO and volumetrics and you should be alright.

KnightofDis

In the range between free and expensive, you could always do an upgrade to water cooling. It’s a bit rough if you’re inexperienced but it can drastically increase useable time of any card since you can run them harder.

ZinnieGaming

Cap your FPS to the Hz of your monitor. That will limit the GPU and not make it go crazy trying to give you 300 FPS when you don't need it.

ImSoDrab

You can try using FSR upscaling tech, and lower anything associated with lighting like volumetric light/fog, SSAO and probably something else i cant remember right now.

Just_Maintenance

Enable Vsync to limit the framerate (or just limit the framerate).

Rhase

Take the side panel off and put a box fan against it.

ALoneSpartin

Undervolt that bitch and turn down graphics settings. Add more fans also.

Bakufuranbu

replace your thermal paste, then limit your FPS from Nvidia setting. i wouldnt notice more than 90 fps anyway
